Nuovo Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We came for a late afternoon, after-theater meal. I had grilled salmon with a delicious risotto side and seasonal veggies. There was enough for another meal, which I took home. My friend also had salmon, but the specialty of the day, which she loved. Our waitress was very attentive. We enjoyed our visit tremendously.
We had another delicious dinner at Nuovo. We started with drinks at the bar (check out the Seasonal menu). Dinner was wonderful (meatballs are always a good choice) and the specials were terrific (3 people in our party had the stuffed haddock and loved it). We wrapped things up with after dinner drinks (the Tiramisu martini was wonderful) and dessert (nut torte amazing!). Highly recommend dining here. It's a hidden gem among the many restaurants on Shrewsbury Street.
My girlfriend and I celebrated our anniversary by having dinner at Nuovo and had a fantastic time. The muscles were delectable, my Manhattan was well balanced and the Chicken Marsala was perfectly cooked. The ambiance was fun and lively yet laid back and relaxed. The piano player in particular was a nice touch which made for great conversation and filled the silence while eating. The best part of this experience though I must say was our server, Lisa Lou. She was attentive but not overbearing, friendly, made good personal conversation with us and made this one of the greatest eating experiences of my entire life. Nuovo will certainly be getting my business again in the near future.
Too loud! We arrived 5 minutes early for our reservation and stood near the bar to wait. The bar was full so we ordered drinks and waited while standing near the bar. Unfortunately, it was also where kitchen staff came in and out of the kitchen, so there was no convenient place to wait. We were either in the way of the kitchen/wait staff or the front door. The front room with the piano player and bar was understandably loud. After 20 minutes or so of waiting, they offered to seat us near the bar. We asked for a quieter seat in the back room and waited 5-10 minutes more. There was one extremely loud group sitting behind us who the waiter told us had also asked for a quiet table! The food was average, nothing spectacular but the noise made for an unpleasant overall experience. I think you can get as good or better food with a much more enjoyable ambience elsewhere in Worcester.
Love this restaurant - especially the piano bar/singer - so wonderful to dine with music. Lively and somewhat loud in bar area seating, but we loved the vibe and energetic atmosphere - and there is the quiet side close by, but still can hear the music. Our server, Kyle was outstanding. Excellent food, awesome ambiance, and overall wonderful dining experience! Highly recommend.
We were there to celebrate our anniversary and had a lovely evening. The chef even came out and chatted with us, which was very enjoyable. I did think the additional $9.00 for a side of asparagus was rather expensive, but the food was excellent! I had reserved the table on Open Table and made the restaurant aware it was our anniversary and at the end of the meal we were presented with two complimentary glasses of champagne.
The service, food & staff were amazing. This restaurant does if like it’s supposed to be done. Half way through dinner the Owner/Chef stopped by to say hi and ask how our meal was, which by the way was delicious!! We will definitely be back. 5 Stars in my honest opinion.
The meal was wonderfully done! Exceeded our expectations! Kyle our waitperson was excellent! He paid attention to our every desire and did so in a friendly and personable manner. We were able to eat at our leisure and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. Intimate and romantic.
The restaurant is very attractive however we will not return. The waitress was efficient, but was talking so fast and rushing us that we felt like we had to hurry up although there were plenty of empty tables. Our food was OK. The chicken piccata was very bland, lacked the lemony taste and had hardly any capers. It was a special occasion for us and was booked as that but there was no mention of it.
Great experience all the way around. I was there on a Tuesday evening hosting a business meal. The restaurant was busy, but you could have a quiet conversation at your table. Plenty of great choices on the menu for all tastes. Ask for Tyler as your server. Very knowledgeable, professional, and extremely entertaining. I'll be back.
Chef Alix's salmon special was over cooked salmon and topped with what I think was previously frozen lobster meat. Coconut shrimp appetizer was a little under cooked so batter around shrimp was doughy. Ribeye was tasty but very fatty (a little more than your typical ribeye). Service was good but slowed down towards the end of the meal when the server seemed very busy doing side work.
Our first time at this restaurant. I was mildly upset that my food came out warm and not hot, however they whisked it back to the kitchen and when it came back out, it was fantastic. It was so good, I'd get it again.
Waitress was great, food was fantastic, we'll definitely be back.
We love it here. Date night or dinner with the family, it never disappoints. Tildi is an amazing and entertaining bartender and Alex is the friendliest owner/master chef we’ve ever had the opportunity to meet. The people are friendly and make you feel like family and the food is amazing every time. Try our favorites, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parm with Alfredo and Lovster MAC & Cheese. Milton Bene!!!
We are actually going to try Nuovo again; but, we had a tough night for our first visit. Firstly, my wife loved her meal (Salmon). I am a Chic Parm lover and unfortunately my dish was unsatisfactory. It seemed to be microwaved; cold in some spots and warm in others.
The wait was oddly long and as we observed other tables, it looked like dishes were coming out randomly. Our waiter was also good.
The reason I'd like to try this location again is simple; the manager was PHENOMENAL! She was kind, understanding, and accommodating. That type of hospitality is what we look for at the places we eat.
We were passing through on our way to Cape Cod. We were so happy to find this wonderful Italian restaurant. We had Steak au poivre, chicken picatta and linguine with meatballs and sausage. It was so good that we take home leftovers...just a tiny piece of chicken for our lucky dog. Try the homemade sangria...it comes in red and white 😘
Nuovo offers an interesting Italian menu with a great variety of meals. Since I have a small appetite, I enjoy the light menu which allows you to choose from many entree without the vegetable, potato or rice.
Nuovo has a cozy, romantic atmoshphere on a week night in the bar. On the weekend, the bar becomes more upbeat and active.
I have always had tasty meals and it has become one of my favorite restaurants in Worcester.
Overall what a wonderful experience. We were welcomed with open arms. If you get a chance ask for THE Bartender, the Gentleman who has seen the world, is a top notch professional, and made us want to sit at the bar instead of take our reserved seats.
Food was fresh the Antipasti was excellente, the bread warm and tasty.
This is a must try if you like Italian, super service, grease food and a friendly environment.
We are always happy at Nuovo. We had visitors from Barcelona with us (who are foodies) and they raved about the food, in particular the blending of tart and savory in the pasta dishes and fish. It is always fresh and the staff is always appropriately attentive.
