Nuovo Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I have some dietary restrictions and usually look for simply prepared dishes, so was a bit apprehensive when I saw that so much of the menu focused on marinated meats and creative sauces. But as I began to inquire about one particular offering, the server quickly informed me that, with very few exceptions, all of the menu items are prepared strictly to order. She was able to assure me that none of the ingredients I need to avoid would be used in the preparation of my food. So I ordered what really sounded good to me, and enjoyed it "without guilt"! The food was great, the service continued to be first rate, and the atmosphere was pleasant and quiet.
I have been here a few times and it is consistently excellent. I have never had such great coconut shrimp. It is an app but next time I may get it for dinner. The small plates to share are fabulous. The chicken piccata was awesome and the eggplant rolotini app was delicious. I can't say enough about this restaurant. This is our favorite.
The menu is extensive, along with some outstanding specials. We all ordered something different and each meal was great. Service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive to our questions. We were seated right beside the piano and the noise level was a bit loud at times (the piano player was very good, just hard to hear our conversation occasionally).
Overall a great experience.
We went before a concert at the DCU center. The waitress was conscientious of our time frame. It happened to be restaurant week and the menu was great. 5 out of 6 people in our party opted to order from that menu and we were all pleased with our meals. Convenient valet parking. Would return if in the area again.
Dinner for two with dessert for under $65 Yeah! Coconut shrimp were yummy as well as the hot rolls. I wasnt a fan of the oil mixture for the bread. The house salad w their italian house dressing came w our meals and was fresh and delicious. The Chicken marsala w ravolis had three good size pieces of chicken with lots of mushrooms and the ravolis were fresh. My friend had the chicken parmesan which was delicious and came in a generous portion. I had the flourless chocolate torte which was so rich. My friend loved the passion fruit dessert which i believe was similar to a gelato. Great service eventhough the waitress Katie told us they were short staffed and they were gettin many walkins before Garth Brooks concert. Katie always anticipated what we needed so we never had to ask. Good Job
We went for the first time this weekend during restaurant week. Everything was absolutely wonderful! The food and drinks were great and the staff was very nice and fun! It was a bit noisy but we were near a very large party so I'm sure that is not often the case. A wonderful night out!
We received a gift card to Nuovo and decided to visit for the first time during Worcester Restaurant Week winter 2016. My husband ordered the baked haddock with polenta, and I ordered the gemelli bolognese with a house salad. My husband had no complaints about his meal, but mine was nothing special. The salad boasted a variety of vegetables plus olives--but what I got was a tiny plate of mixed greens, a half slice of tomato, and one olive. The bolognese lacked flavor and salt. For dessert, we ordered the flourless chocolate cake and the tiramisu. The chocolate cake was incredibly rich and tasty. But the tiramisu was nothing more than a layer cake trying to pass as something else. It was a perfectly triangular slice of white cake with a couple layers of lightly coffee flavored frosting and a dusting of cocoa powder on top. The ladyfingers/cake in Tiramisu, in my opinion, should be soaked in espresso liquid. This version was dry and lacked that rich espresso flavor.
Our server was amazing! First, we asked to see the dessert menu to determine our dinner selection. Next, we requested a slow paced meal. Our requests were granted! The food was excellent. Each time I eat at Nuovo, I have the Mediterranean salad. It never disappoints! For dinner I had the small plate eggplant parm. Delicious & not a small portion! My dining companion had the house salad & fish. She too was very happy with her meal. For dessert, I had the chocolate cake & she had the Nutella cake. Both were yummy. Our server paced our meal beautifully & we enjoyed every bite.
Everything was great, the food, the service, the only problem was that there were two very, very loud groups beside us and I had a hard time to hear the people at our table. I wished the waitress would have asked them to keep it down out of courtesy of others.
My wife and I were delighted to dine at Nuovo for Valentine's weekend. It was -30 degrees, but the valet attendants were professional and attentive. Our table wasn't ready right away (which at 5:30pm was surprising) so we were sent to the bar, but before we could order a drink, the hostess very kindly found another table for us and we were able to sit down right away. I'm a big fan of the Nuovo antipasto and my wife was ecstatic at a gluten-free chocolate lava cake for dessert (although at $10, it probably pushed the bounds of dessert overpricing). Our meals were excellent and--as repeat customers--we have found that being seated away from the piano is ideal for conversation.
Nuovo is a great place to spend an out-of-the-ordinary evening (although I am not against dining there regularly, were my house just a bit closer). We went on Valentine's Day weekend (Saturday) and the place was fairly crowded but we were seated right away, having reservations. We enjoy a pescatarian/Mediterranean diet, and Nuovo has plenty of choices that fit into this scheme. My complaint is that when we expressed interest in dessert, we were shown only the special menu items, neither of which we were terribly interested in ordering. However, my wife noticed that an adjoining table was offered the full list. When I asked about it, the waiter brought it over. Other than that, it was a nice evening with excellent, inventive dishes and an attentive, but not overbearing, waiter.
What a wonderful time we had this past Valentine's Day at Nuovo! The service was excellent with attention paid to every detail. We ordered off of the menu and special Valetine's menu. The chef honored a special request I had asked for and our food was simply terrific. We ordered beer and wine with our meal off a very nice wine, beer and drink menu. To top it off, there was a piano player that was excellent. Highly recommended!
No matter the chef or the wine list, your server can make or break the evening. Our server this night was Chelsea and she was spectacular. Attentive, but not intrusive. Engaging, but not overly familiar. Two thumbs up to a great restaurant for putting it's best face forward.
And yes, the food was fantastic.
My wife and I had dinner at Nuovo with another couple recently and the overall experience was excellent. We got there a little early and had a drink at the bar. The bartender had a great personality and made a killer martini (they have an impressive martini list but I opted for a traditional Hendricks Gin Martini). Their wine selection was quite good as well.
Once our table was ready, we were thrilled to actually have a table in the bar area where there was an amazing pianist/singer performing throughout our meal. It's a little loud in this area depending on how many people are there, but we felt it was a great area to enjoy our meal with our friends. There is a more traditional area to dine if you prefer something quieter.
The menu selections offered a good amount of variety and the prices were very reasonable. I felt the specials were even more attractive. I ordered one of the specials, the coffee rubbed filet mignon which was incredible, served with a risotto. My wife and her friend both got Chicken dishes, Chicken Marsala and Chicken Saltimbocca. I got to try both, and the sauces were very nice. The only criticism I would share is I felt the Chicken pieces would be more appropriately be presented in the menu as medallions, since each dish gave you 3-4 small thin pieces of chicken. (I personally think these dishes should have thin sliced breasts slightly pounded).
For dessert, we shared a Chocolate Lava cake with Vanilla Gelato, which topped off the meal nicely.
One other note, their complimentary Valet Service was very much appreciated, since parking in this area can be challenging.
All in all, an excellent dining experience and we will definitely go there again.
After my 4th or 5th amazing trip to Nuovo I just had to write a review. Everything about the place is amazing. They have a lounge area with a piano player on Friday and Saturday nights. I arrived and was promptly seated in the lounge just as requested with my reservation.
The ambiance of the place with the piano playing is incredible, if you haven't been take your wife she will love it. The piano player is perfect, not overwhelming but also not elevator music
In my trips to Nuovo I've yet to have a bad dish. The specialties and always incredible and resonably priced. Had a pair of Filets wrapped in bacon with risotto, simply amazing.
My only complaint was the service was a little slow, but everything else was amazing so I'll let it slide.
Get the veal of a filet, on anything honestly it's all good.
A mix of excellent, mediocre, and awful. I was there on a Friday night, when you would think they would be on their A game. Olive oil dipping sauce and bread was amazing. The antipasto appetizer had real potential- excellent quality meats and cheeses, however, clearly at least partly prepped hours ahead of time, making the cheese dry at the edges. Really good calamari- perfectly cooked and crispy, not overly breaded, but the accompanying marina sauce seemed like out of a can from a dollar store. One of the best beef filet steaks I have ever had (filet napoleon), accompanied by completely inedible mushroom risotto (undercooked and underflavored). The wine list was excellent but our server was very unknowledgeable about wines and seemed alternately confused and annoyed by our questions. She then put on a good show of decanting the wine, but poured all the sediment into the decanter as well (about 2 tsps worth). I think there's some potential there, but we won't be going back anytime soon.
My friend and I had the osso bucco the last time we ate here, and were looking forward to having it again. The portion was very generous, and the vegetable and potatoes that accompanied it were excellent as well. The service was excellent and the server was very knowledgable. It was a really nice dining experience - never rushed.
