Nunzio Ristorante Rustico Ratings and Reviews
Haven't been to Collingswood in years and live in center city. Decided to try Nunzio's. Did not realize that would be soooooo busy there on Saturday night in both the town and the restaurant. Parking is not super easy - we had to drive around quite a lot - there is a large municipal lot in the rear but it is kind of dark and spooky and a bit of a walk and was full so finally found meter parking that you will need quarters for. Suggest if you go arrive early so you can find parking. Hope you know how to parallel park. The restaurant was slammed and a lot of ppl waiting even though they all had reservations (seems as if maybe they over-booked?? or ppl just took long getting up) - that was also stressful. However, after about 25 minutes we were seated. I must say the food was extremely good. LOVED the tuna carpaccio preparation and awesome antipasti that had wonderful assortment including veggies, peppers and meats and cheeses... just perfect and light to have before a meal. Husband had yummy veal parm and I had bronzino which was also great but I did not like the heavy creamy sauce on the fish - next time would tell them to leave the sauce off - it does not need it. Ordered an ala carte side of cappellini since i did not like the veggies that were included with the entrees. Also had scrumptious ricotta cheesecake for dessert and espresso. This is BYO so it is a great value. We were able to bring one of our better wines. Thank you Nunzio's for a great meal!
Excellent overall! Nunzio has the right touch and vibe when it comes to FOOD. Celebrated my mom's Birthday and we all decided to go with Nunzio preparing all the 5 courses for us!! What a great way to try many of the menu selections from Antipasti to dessert. The atmosphere is designed to feel like you are in Italy sitting in an a small Campo/ square outdoors.
Look forward to our return visit. You will not be disappointed
3 of 4 in our party ordered the special bronzino entre. They were all dry and overcooked including the tasteless crab meat and shrimp topping. It was obvious that they were pre-prepared and left under the heat lamp until ordered to speed things up. In contrast my veal was very good, as expected. Another problem was the tiny amount of escarole served as the vegetable. It was about one good forkful. It was almost funny. Maybe it was to get us to order from the additional side items. That should not be necessary when the entre includes potato and vegetable. We have been here many times before, but not for about a year. We were very disappointed and see no good reason to return. We are by no means food critics, but after dining together for 20 + years we do know what fresh, well prepared food tastes like and do not usually have reason to complain.
If you like authentic Italian cuisine this is the place to go. My wife and I had dinner here for the first time and we didn’t know what to expect. The menu features all of the standard fare Italian dishes accompanied by some interesting specials. I had wild boar in a red wine reduction with dried cranberries atop pumpkin gnocchi in a gorgonzola cheese sauce. It was divine. My wife had Osso Bucco in a rich meat sauce atop a creamy risotto. It was spectacular. My wife opted for a salad appetizer forgoing the lobster bisque special and I had the grilled octopus atop a bed of farro with olives, tomatoes and onions dressed in a light vinaigrette. It was special and I could have eaten two helpings, though one was plenty.
Decor is a bit cliche, service was good, but not exceptional. Diners were casually attired, many seeming like local folks in the know. Nunzio’s is a definite keeper.
Our waiter Mustafa was excellent. The food was awesome. The best meal I have had in collingswood. We all ordered the specials and was not disappointed. My veal chop was cooked perfectly. My wife had the branzino, my son had osso bucco and my daughters rack of lamb were all prepared with great skill
If you haven't been to Nunzio's you're in for a SERIOUS treat!!! We've been here in the past and they always excel! I asked for a "quiet" table and they stashed us in a corner in one of the smaller rooms and it was perfect. The place was packed and loud, but they found the quiet spot I asked for. Now for the food: The seared scallops and the tuna carpaccio appetizers were incredible as was the, signature, lobster bisque with crab meat. The stuffed veal chop special was amazing as were the Profiteroles and the Doppio Cioccolato desserts. The service was excellent despite the fact that the whole restaurant was mobbed. Every time we go to Nunzio's were reminded as to just how good they really are!!!
Everything at Nunzio's was excellent! Our server was friendly, fast, and very welcoming. The food was extremely tasty, and the portions were perfect. During our meal we had 5 courses, but we did not feel overly stuffed at any point. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves Italian cuisine.
Went for Birthday with another couple. We all enjoyed the food and our waiter Mustafo. He was friendly professional curtious and very knowledgeable. The hostess was adorable outgoing and friendly. She recommended dessert/the chocolate cake and gelato was fantastic just like she said.
Had lunch this year more @ NUNZIO'S than any other restaurant in NJ or PA.
Try a different meal every time we go & all are excellent.
