Nunzio Ristorante Rustico Ratings and Reviews
Our meal was excellent. The restaurant was crowded and we were seated at a very tight corner table but we were with old friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves until after our dessert. The hostess came over to our table and asked us, “ Are you done?” We were shocked and embarrassed. We got up immediately and left. We expected that there was a wait for tables but there were many empty tables in the restaurant. We felt that we were treated rudely. If there is a time limit for dining, it should be made clear upon booking a reservation.
Order the Tuna ala J .... is out of this world. Great service and ambiance. Real authentic italian. Chef specializes in foods of the seasons, from mushrooms to vegetables, to game and fish. Chef is creative and personable and will make any special requests happen!
As usual this was another great dining experience
At Nunzio’s. My guest being from Italy, was very pleased with all the servings and the quality and authentic italian flavors. Nunzio came out of the Kitchen to chat with us and made my guest really feel at home. Thank you chef for a memorable evening.
While the food was very good the portions were rather small and the restaurant was not very accommodating. I wanted to order the fish for the day but it was served with lobster and shrimp. As I have a shellfish allergy I asked if I could get it without and what the price would be. The waiter said I could get it without the shellfish but the price would be the same, seemed ridiculous to me not to reduce the price even by $5. I ended up ordering the veal which was 3 very tiny, very thin medallions. I would be surprised if they weighed even 2 ounces. While the flavor of the food was good and fresh I would not recommend if you are hungry. It was also very noisy, they pack people in and it is very busy waiters and staff constantly moving past hard to relax and enjoy because I felt like I was going to be bumped at any minute as we were on the aisle and it was very narrow. Personal opinion is there are restaurants of equal quality that are more enjoyable and accommodating.
We were a party of two out to celebrate our anniversary. We each had a special (branzino with lump crab meat and stuffed veal chop) which were fabulous. We were seated immediately and our server was very attentive to our needs. We topped the dinner off with their cheesecake with chocolate sauce and raspberry glaze which was awesome. It was a fabulous dinner as always. Love Nunzios!
Always a great spot with great food. On this occasion, the hostess was especially accommodating since I made the reservation for the wrong night! It was restaraunt week and she was so nice, asked us to wait a few minutes; she worked her magic and sat us for dinner!
Another great meal at this great spot. Thanks Nunzio!
Felt extremely uncomfortable while dinning with my wife for our anniversary.. all I wanted to do was eat and relax with my wife after a hard days work; but constantly stared at by customers and staff because I'm black. It's such a shame people are so ignorant over color.
When we visited Nuncio's he was having a special dinner; "Fall Flavors of Tuscany". Nuncio hosts these special dinners a couple of times a year and they are always wonderful. Nuncio's is a BYOB and this meal was advertised with "bring a big red". We brought a Chianti Classico which was a fine accompaniment to everything that was served. We began with a selection of crostini, cheeses, olives and roasted peppers. Favorite was Lardo of Colinata, a Tuscan speciality made on the premises; a unique smokiness and a melt in your mouth quality made it so much more than bacon. The 5 course fixed price menu of the evening continued with grilled polenta with mushroom ragu with braised wild boar shoulder, homemade stuffed pasta with duck ragu and pecorino cheese, and finally, grilled rib eye with cannelini beans, baby arugula and parmigiano cheese. Dessert was Bomboloni stuffed nutella, served warm with vanilla ice cream. It is hard to pick a favorite course! Our waiter took time to describe each course as presented which made it that much more enjoyable. Service was friendly with a well trained staff.
Our meals on Sunday far exceeded our expectations. My husband and I both tried the wild boar with pumpkin gnocchi and I have to say, it was one of the best meals I have ever had. We could hardly stop smacking our lips (quietly of course) and saying how wonderful it was throughout the meal. We will definitely revisit for that alone. Ryan, our server, was very attentive and professional. This was truly an exceptional evening and well worth the drive!!
Nunzios is awesome! If you have not tried Nunzios you should. If you like Italian food then Nunzios is your goto spot. The food is always consistently top shelf. The service is attentive and friendly. Especially Ryan! This time we had scallops, branzino, stuffed veal chop and some home-made biscotti for dessert with our cappuccino. Mmmmm. (Definitely ask for the biscotti. Best ever!)
As always, seated promptly, attentive waiter, many choices, and most of all, an excellent meal. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed in the meal. The fact that it's a BYOB only adds to it's value & excellence. If you haven't been, GO!
Marabelle was delightful. Our server was very attentive. It was quite loud but for someone who enjoys seeing the hustle and bussle of working in a high end restaurant it was pretty awesome to watch. plenty of styles of seating available for couples or groups. Food was beautifully displayed and seasonal dessert was incredible. Interior of the restaurant was astounding. Very customizable if you have food allergies which was nice. Will recommend
We had the best meal we have had in a very long time. Nunzio always hits it out of the park. We made a reservation on the earlier side so as not to risk them running out of their specials. My husband and I both ordered from the entree specials. I had the wild boar with pumpkin gnocchi and it was incredible. My husband had the veal osso buco with saffron risotto which was also amazing (I've order that two or three times previously). The food was fantastic and the service is always top notch. We are already looking forward to going back again.
It was my best friend's birthday & we went to lunch @ NUNZIO'S.
I had the lobster ravolli he had a more exotic dish.
Both dishes were excellent, sauce unreal
Bread my favorite...
Dessert was fruit, gelato, & the best chocolate
"Happy birthday" sauce
on the side of the dish I ever had.
We bring a bottle of wine & RYAN, the best waiter in the world..always takes care of us like we were family.
He is a terrific guy besides....
Love this place. better than any place in Philly so the ride is well worth it.
We'll be back before the holidays!
We have dined at Nunzio's many times however I felt the sea bass was very dry and over priced for lunch. A smaller portion than usual as well. Very disappointed. Our bill (because of the price of the special--bronzino--sea bass) was way over budget for just lunch.
