Pizza and arancini are very good but I’ve to say the service is slow because even if the restaurant is almost empty they give priority to take out delivery...so once you book take your time.
Love this place....excellent service (nicest people) and really great pizza...not the most beautiful place but hey, it a pizza place! Btw, had the artichoke appetizer for the first time and it was so delicious - perfection! Also, good wine by the glass.
We love numero 28 FH. It’s the perfect local spot for lunch or dinner. Their food is delicious and their staff is wonderful. Even the head chef came out to check on our food and ask how we were enjoying our meal. Their aperol spritz is my personal fave drink, so light and refreshing! Can’t wait to go back!
Indoor during COVID, so very quiet and a little eerie - can’t wait to be in a bustling restaurant again. Food, however, is delicious. Closest to Italy we’ve found for a casual meal. Excellent ingredients simply prepared. Highly recommended.
Not a good dining experience at all. The restaurant permitted 7-8-9year olds to dine at their establishment without their parents present. The parents dropped their children off to dine “down the block”...is this even legal at a restaurant that serves alcohol? I felt like I might have been in the Robert Wagner school lunch room. The kids were running from table to table, and were not well behaved; why should they be...after all, no adult supervision. The restaurant should not have permitted this and it made for the worst dining experience ever. Plus, this restaurant’s $58 pizza was less than adequate. I did say something to our waitress and she said that this group of families does this all of the time. I do not recommend this restaurant —their way way overpriced food and service were less than adequate. It was more of a “Chucky Cheese” experience for myself and my guest.
We came here for my daughter’s birthday and enjoyed the service and delicious pizza. Very worthwhile restaurant to go to.
Been here several times, it never disappoints! Great food, drinks, ambiance and happy hour!
Great outdoor set up with really delicious food!
Consistently serves great food. We enjoyed ourselves in the heated outdoor space.
Absolute best time of my LIFE. It was my first time visiting NYC and this was by far an experience. The food, music, and drinks were definitely top tier. I cannot wait to return!
Celebrated my brothers bday. We were a big group of 8. They service was good. Although food came out a bit longer but understandable. Puizza was amazing! Chicken piccata was good too. The fam loved it, so i would say it all went well.
The pizza was very good. It was a bit annoying that 2 different musics were coming from the bar end the kitchen.
The pizza is always superb. Probably the best pizza in NYC. The wait staff are always nice, friendly & efficient.
I love this place, the food really is fantastic!! Amazing pizza!! Amazing pasta!! The service was great.
Understanding it’s outdoor dining, unfortunately this establishment has done nothing to soften the 1st Avenue noise like blocking off the open space
between the street & seating as other restaurants on the avenue have done.
Even a few trees would cut the noise & help guests feel like they are at their restaurant & not in the street
There is also tons of bike traffic which can’t be avoided
Both sadly took away from our experience
The food was good, service fine
During times like this it is what it is, these little things count.
Due to “covid rules” they no longer accept BYOB! Such a fun perk to coming here. Disappointed because this actually isn’t a new implemented rule and I have done byob at other restaurants this summer since outdoor dining has commenced. I asked if they could honor just this time, but no luck. Still a great dinner but beware if you were planning to BYOB like the good days! No one came to check on us after 2 hours. 4 or so tables got cleared before someone came back to us. The restaurant was not busy.
Great evening great food!
We went to the numero 29 on Carmine not first avenue. I did not know there were two of them.. But the pizza was so fresh and delicious. We ordered the 18 inch half cappriciosa and half regionale... The cheese was so incredible and the sauce, no skimping there. I have had the pizzas delivered to my home, but eating outside there is the key to the best pizza.
The pizza was excellent. the serving for 2 people was bigger than expected & it was excellent.
Great pizza, great salad, great drinks! Perfect summer spot.
Food is great but their menus were not updated and actually didn't have enough so we had to give up some of our menus to the adjacent table.
One of my favorite restaurants. All of the locations are incredible.
The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and the flavors that I was looking for. However the service was disappointing. When my party of four had arrived and placed our order, we were the only ones in the restaurant and by the time we had left only a few of the tables were occupied. Still our waitress completely forgot about one of the pizzas we had ordered to share as a table. When we asked her about it she just kind-of stared at us and wasn’t very apologetic. We ended up telling her to forget about it because our meal was almost finished anyway.
I used to frequent this restaurant but management and service was gone down hill and food is mediocre. I recommend going somewhere else with all of the other great choices in the upper east side.
Absolutely delicious pizza with a variety of toppings !
The service was very friendly and courteous.
Pizza is delicious but a bit pricey for what it is ...
We made a large last minute reservation near closing time on Christmas Eve and the staff could not have been more gracious or the food more delicious. We will go back over and over.
Just ok. Things that were on website were not offered. None of our food was hot. Mediocre tasting.
Not nearly as good as usual. Seemed to be busier than they were able to handle so both food quality and service suffered.
The most delicious mushroom truffle white pizza!
The pasta was a little too al dente but otherwise fantastic
Pizza was great but expensive
Restaurant was great there is just a $15 corking fee per wine bottle to be aware of!
Very overpriced for servings presented. Food was delivered very quickly but then we were abandoned by the wait staff and had to flag them down (with arms waving wildly) to get their attention. The food was virtually unsalted and we had to beg to get salt delivered to the table. A very underwhelming experience for a restaurant that is in a great location and very cute to look at.
The pizza was great. Like the ambiance. It was a rainy quiet night and it was definitely a bit hot in the space but we had a good time.
We didn’t have the greatest experience at this restaurant. The day we came it was gorgeous out; however our party of 6 was too large for them to accommodate outside despite three of the four outdoor tables being open. We ended up being seated close to the front of the restaurant and were able to take in the nice weather and outdoor ambiance. However our food came out at random moments with the pizza arriving before our appetizers and the risotto arriving as we were all wrapping up and getting ready to leave. For some reason the waiter was having difficulty generating our bill and after 20 minutes of waiting we were told we’d have to pay in cash. After much debate he finally said we could pay with credit card but we’d have to re-input everything we’d ordered into his terminal to generate a bill. Fine. It took all of five minutes and we were out of there. Unfortunately we will not be returning.
We sat outside where it’s light, bright and a great people watching spot. Inside is another story as I find it too dark. Pizza is delicious especially the Rustica & the bianco with mushrooms and peppers. It’s kind of pricey , $50 for a large flatbread pie.
The pizza was so good!
Everything delicious, great pizza, scrumptious artichoke salad, sinful small cannoli, and lovely Falanghina to complement it all. Warm and attentive service. Any doubt we will be back soon?
Great food but the staff was really terrible. I had to hunt them down multiple times. They started by bringing salads to the three of us that ordered them at the same time as everyone else’s entrees. It was awkward. They also refused to substitute out pasta sauces on my dish, weird. I had to get up to ask them for a second bottle of wine and then hunt them down to discuss desert. On a Friday night I might understand this, but it was Monday and they were not busy.
