Says “business casual”, it was very casual and loud. Only one server on Father’s Day. Kitchen lost our order, so we salad for 45 minutes. The server was very nice and apologetic, but way too stretched. I would go again perhaps and sit outside w my dog for a very casual lunch. The cuisine is fantastic, but the price and the menu does not match the dining experience and vibe.
Overall was great food ; wait staff was quite short and waitress was spread thin, but she handled it like a champ.
Great Food....affordable prices. Great drinks too!
I'd love if the carnitas had been accompanied by some pico de gallo, or salsa, because that would have been perfect. However, you do a good job!
Went for Cinco de Mayo Dinner and felt that the food was good but the service was lacking. I had made a reservation and upon check in, I was given the menus and pointed in the general direction of the table. No hostess apparently. For food, we both ordered ceviche, a cup of soup and chicken fajitas. The server came over and said she put in a bowl of soup and was that ok or did she need to change it to a cup. Um...we ordered a cup so we want a cup not a bowl because you made a mistake! Then the ceviche came out. The menu describes a fish ceviche but what was served was a fish, shrimp and squid ceviche. Fine for me but my husband is allergic to shellfish. We ask them to take it back and the response was "didn't you know there was shrimp in it?!" Um no...because the menu states fish. If it had said shrimp, we would not have ordered it in the first place. The chicken for the fajitas was dry and overcooked. And then we were not offered a dessert menu. I am not sure if there isn't one but overall, I thought the service was terrible and that the server should have just accepted that she made a mistake...not put her or the restaurant's mistakes back on the customer. I am not sure if I would go back.
Good food. Great margaritas. The guacamole and chips are a must to start the meal. Really tasty with 4 salsas to choose from. The chips are really good, too. But be warned that one of the salsas is really hot (the lighter green one). Not sure if the server warned us (could not hear because of the noise). We like spicy, so not a problem. But if someone puts a big glop of it on a chip, they may be in for a surprise.
Very busy on a Friday night. Service a little slow. Really loud.
Great meal! Would recommend it again. Great atmosohere for large groups (we had 14 people), good food, and great service!
My husband and I came here on a Tuesday night, so it was pretty quiet. The food was good and my husband truly enjoyed his Pina Colada! :-) I ordered their chicken enchilada with 3 different sauces, as recommended by our server. She was really nice, too! My husband had jambalaya, which we were surprised to see on the menu, but he enjoyed it, as well.
The only thing missing was chips and dip. They didn
This place is a neighborhood gem. Food and drinks were good. We'll be back for sure and will try their happy hour, also!
I took my two sisters there for their birthdays and they absolutely loved the food, service and the atmosphere. Great location to shop and walk around.
Go for the fish tacos, tortilla soup, and ceviche! Those item are tasty and reasonably priced. The sauce for the tacos goes great with the fish, however it is spicy so try it out first! I was disappointed by the other entrees offered, including the chicken enchiladas (tortillas were tough), seafood jambalaya (flavors were lacking), and fajitas (veggies could have been fresher). I would skip those dishes. For a weekday night, the service was very good - our waiter/attendants got our food to us quickly and were accommodating to special requests or getting things like extra plates, napkins, refills, etc. We were there for my birthday and they offered a free dessert, which was a nice touch. I prefer going for lunchtime or early dinner. They were a large party in the front of the restaurant for happy hour, so it was quiet loud.
Also, I requested a table by the window or corner in my OpenTable reservation, but we were seated at a table by the restroom. I know not every request can be fulfilled, but I didn't see any "reserved" table signs either, so I think we were just seated wherever it was empty.
Delicious food, generous portions and attentive staff.
Great service, food is always excellent, and you can't beat bottomless mimosas!
Love all the dishes at this place, awesome food
Sister-In-law visiting from Japan, craving good Mexican food
too noisy.. too many loud talkers due to the fact they were already drunk.. could hardly hear your party talking. noise level is too much that I did not enjoy my dinning.
Excellent food. Great margaritas but very expensive drinks. Next time we will drink beer. Otherwise, we were delighted with the variety and quality of the food. We live in the north bay and have been disappointed lately with the Mexican food. We lived in Mexico for 6 years and don't really like American/Tex-mex with the tons of cheese, etc. Nueve has a great chef - long may she/he remain!
The food is over-priced for the quality of the dishes. For this price-point, you can find much better Mexican food in this area. The guacamole and tamales were bland, and the chips greasy. The service was attentive, though.
The ambiance is strip mall. But the food is really, really great. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I’m super happy we stumbled on this place.
Just a friends get together. Good food, fair pricing, and good service.
Nueve is delicious - love the meatballs and guacamole
Reservation was not excepted. Was told it was not valid after arriving. Very unfriendly service.
Restaurant is close to SF Airport making it easy to stop for something good to eat before or after a flight
Big group. Great waitress. She was attentive and prompt. Friendly and very nice.
The breakfast items were all delicious!
It was disappointing that a lot of food and drinks were not available today . Two of the food items we wanted were not available , and two of the drink items were not available , so from the start it changed our dining mood. Not sure we will be returning , but the prices overall weren't bad , which is good since no one at our table ate our food
Our three appetizers to share were fabulous and the margaritas were as well. Wonderful service.
Food has always been great! Keep it up. Servers last weekend was not good at all. They seemed to be too busy although we have been here before and even if it was busier, customer service was excellent. I noted on the reservation that it was my daughter's birthday and i was hoping they'd do something special for her. It was not the case. Because of the poor service, we went somewhere else for dessert. We still love the place for it's food, quality and value of the food. But unfortunately, because of the decline in the quality of service, I am hesitant to refer this place to friends and family.
I really wanted to like this place , but was disappointed with the food and the service most of the dishes we had did not taste fresh and the service was uninspired at best. Our waitress really seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else but there.
I was extremely excited to celebrate a special occasion here, however upon arriving they had a sign stating they had closed early (7pm) due to a staff meeting. I was beyond upset at this point as I had a CONFIRMED reservation for a party of 4 at 8:45pm and when I got there simply to find out although my reservation was confirmed they had closed early and did not give notice or cancel my reservation was disappointing beyond words.
The food was excellent and very plentiful. The menu was different from the typical Mexican restaurant and the Nueva Fries were fantastic. Highly recommended. would go back without hesitation.
This is a very simple place in a strip mall area- although it is quiet there and lots of trees around- The people were amazing- family owned I think- very friendly and service was quick quick quick- the FOOD was incredible !! The presentation was like fine dining - beautiful - This is a GEM!! HIGHLY recommend.. Every time I go to San Fran I will be going there for Brunch - HIGHLY Recommend!!!
This was my first visit to this restaurant on recommendation of a friend. The staff was really friendly, and the food was really tasty. Our only complaint was the level of service at this restaurant...We had to ask for water, and ask to have it refilled. We were NEVER offered tortillas with our meal.
The meals we had were very tasty and prepared expertly. The cocktails were really good, but the wine list was a little lacking. Our group was only able to get 1 cup of coffee, no refill. We had a banana dessert that was out of this world---GOOD!
I know I'll be back.
Our waitress was so very pleasant!!!!! We all commented about that.
We have been here many times and are never disappointed. Our friends who came for the first time LOVED it, and said they would be back. Our friend also said that the chicken enchiladas were the best he's ever had!!!!!!
Worst experience ever. The food was good but the service was the worst I ever had. The waitress never came to check if we need anything. She was to busy talking to another table and taking pictures. Will never be back there and will tell people not to go there.
Fantastic food- head and shoulders above the usual cheese laden entrees at the chain style Mexican restaurants... and without the ubiquitous refried beans! Highly recommended !!
Brunch food is always great! Drinks are hit or miss sometimes however.
Delicious food. Recommend the short ribs and the shrimp. Start with the cucumber jalapeño margarita and chips and guacamole. Great service, very friendly. In a strip mall but don't let that dissuade you!
Stopped in for a lite dinner. It's a very casual atmosphere, with an upscale Mexican menu vibe. Our meals were good, really enjoyed the cilantro rice, but chips and salsa are extra.
Atmosphere is aliitle noise and reservations are recommended. Will go again if we're in the area.
End of the work week. Headed to Nueve for good food. The tiny tostadas are the best. The Micheladas are on point with the Nueve Mule not far behind, but I wish they gave it a Mexican twist by using Tequila as the base instead of Vodka.
Food was authentic & ambiance was perfect.
