Impressive greeting when my table had been selected and set prior to my arrival. But, my 4PM reservation didn't say, nor does their website say, that this time had a limited menu of mostly finger food. Interesting selection so I tried a couple that seemed like they'd be different. But, still, had come based on on the menu listed on OpenTable and on Nuestra Mesa website. My ratings are positive, but did leave disappointed.
Our server was very kind and comped all issues. However, the issues were that food was terribly slow (it was just after a busy rush, but we had a reservation), overpriced (we live in Seattle area) for the quality and portions, and after waiting our food came out cold. Again the server was very kind and probably had too many tables but the food was awful. Time and a meal well wasted.
The food and service were excellent. It was homecoming at Camas HS, so it was kind of chaotic and noisy, but the kids were all well behaved and dressed to the nines.
We loved the food, it was varied and different from your usual south of the border restaurant. Our only problem was it seemed that our server was a bit overwhelmed, however it was a busy night, the food was great and we still had a wonderful time.
Everything was pretty good, I wish the ceviche was bigger, it literally came on two chips topped with the ceviche and it was extremely tart!
Terrible food and service. We've eaten at Nuestra Mesa about 5 times, starting about 5 years ago. We liked it at first, but it has gotten so bad now we'll never go back. The Cochinita Pibil seemed to be warmed over from the day before, including the pork and the potatoes. It came with 3 tiny tortillas, less than half what you would need -- cheap. My daughter ordered the grilled octopus, as that's her favorite food. It was rubbery and fishy -- almost inedible. She gave me a bit to try. I had to literally remove the piece from my mouth and put it on my plate of uneaten Cochinita Pibil. My wife ordered the Enchiladas Del Mar. She wanted to make sure there was not too much cream, and was assured there was hardly any. It came swimming in cream with hardly any fish, and tasted bad. The chips were stale. I ordered a glass of house red wine. I got a glass with a 3 oz pour. I asked if it was a half pour. The waiter checked in the back and said the pour is supposed to be 6 oz. I did not demand anything, but just mentioned in response that it was not 6 oz, more like 3 oz. He took the glass away -- I thought just to get me a bigger pour. Instead, the bartender (not the waiter) stormed back very agitated, and got in my face with "I don't understand what your asking me to do -- what's the problem?!!" Dumbfounded at this aggressive display, I said, "well, I didn't 'ask' for anything -- I simply told the waiter that the pour was 3 oz and he took my glass." She said, angrily, "it's 6 oz, I pour it myself, do you want to order another glass or what? I declined. Incidentally, even 6 oz is cheap. Most restaurants give you 8-9 oz. My companion ordered a house white wine. It came with ice. They took it back but instead of coming with chilled pour and no ice, they asked her 10 min later if it would be OK to just stain out the ice and give her back an ice-melt diluted glass of her old wine. I kid you not. Must avoid this restaurant at all cost.
Great food! Smaller menue but the options were tasteful. For an appetizer we ordered what I would call a Mexican fondue lol. (Cant remember the name)... Added the chorizo to it. It was very yum with their house made tortilla chips. I got the beef chimichanga and my husband ordered the serloin and roasted potatoes. My chimichanga was excelent. His steak and potatoes were cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. His only complaint was that the portion was very small for the large price tag. We would definitely go back for another date night however... He will choose something larger to fill his belly.
Excellent food and service! Only has gotten better over the years.
The food was great and our server was outstanding. Plus we were able to sit outside on the sidewalk. It was as though we were in a Norman Rockwell setting on 4th Avenue in downtown Camas.
Always have good experience. Miss dining on Sundays though...oh well, they are just wonderful no matter what. Always come back.
Food took a really long time to arrive at our table compared to a similar restaurant - but food was nicely seasoned and well prepared. Really good margaritas!! Wish chips and salsa were complimentary after already spending so much on the meal and drinks. Guess that’s not the norm in the PNW.
Outstanding food and service! This was one of the best carne asada that I have ever had. The service was outstanding and attentive to our needs.
We’d heard about this restaurant and wanted to try it, so decided to go for our anniversary. It has a cool, casual vibe and the food and drinks were excellent! We’ll be back!
Unique atmosphere, high quality Mexican food, reasonable prices and outstanding service render Nuestra Mesa a hotspot we want to visit frequently.
Nuestra is always one of our favorite places and "the" place to go locally for Mexican! Great food & drinks, super friendly service all wrapped up in a cool ambience - - what more could you want?
I use to love this place, but they menu has changed and the food isn't as good as it used to be. Sad, but I probably won't be back.
We had a table of 15 women for dinner. Not one critique. Oh one of the gals ordered the blueberry ginger margarita and found it to be too spicy. Food fabulous and loved the brussels sprouts. The staff was wonderful. Would definitely come back to Nuestra Mesa....
Wonderful experience and great flavors. Appreciated meeting the owner tableside; overall service and attention was great. Went back for the lunch menu today.
I have dined here quite a few times with family, friends and clients. Food and drinks are always great!
The food were great, the service were great, love it!!
The atmosphere is nice and "downtownish" and the window seats are great. But, things have really changed at Nuestra Mesa. Very understaffed for a Friday evening. The $5 street tacos no longer offer any beef or carnitas. The street corn is no longer on the menu and neither can can you order a regular enchilada. We had a chicken taco and a veggie taco. The bluegreen tortilla was about the size of an orange with approx a tablespoon of meat or veggies, quite overpriced at $5.25! The saddest taco I have ever seen. A burrito was ordered also, fairly flavorless. I think the only thing that is keeping them alive is their bar, the blackberry margarita was good. I understand they want the uniqueness of a different menu experience but they do not offer some of the classics to cover a wide enough base of diners. It had the potential of becoming a really great eatery. As citizens of Camas we like to keep as much of our money in our cute little town. I am hoping other reviewers will encourage them to revisit the menu and adjust accordingly. Until then, sadly, we will not be returning.
Overpriced for potions served. Food was well prepared and had a good authentic taste, but the standard new style architecture just makes for noisy and uncomfortable dining experiences.
Nuestra Mesa is a fantastic dining experience, you'll think you are in a resort town on vacation. From the building ambiance to the one of kind drink and food selection we always look forward to our next visit.
Amazing food, drinks & service
Outstanding service. Food was quite good. This was our first time eating at Nuestra Mesa and we will definitely be back again.
All around Amazing!!
We’ve been several times and each time seems to be slightly less enjoyable than the previous. Lately we’ve left feeling like we got a really poor value. Also, really wish they wouldn’t charge $2 for a small side of salsa.... seems a side of salsa should be included when ordering tacos. 🤷♀️ Food is good enough, but quality and quantity do not justify the prices.
Tried a blackberry-basil margarita- YUM! A nicely varied menu with choices for spicy-phobics. Very knowledgeable and friendly wait staff serving delicious well prepared food.
Great food, presently artfully, friendly servers, fun times
What a great find. Todd and Taunya (owners)have created a fantastic dining experience and it shows throughout the entire dining experience from the team to the food and ambiance.
Brussel Sprouts with Chorizo and Chicharrónes. With a poached egg. Awesome!
