Nuba - Gastown
So delicious! Make sure you get the Najib cauliflower and the Brussels!
We were really disappointed. We used to take people to Nuba when they were in from out of town, and have recommended it to numerous people in the past. We haven’t been since last year, and found that the quality of the food has decreased. Also, usually when we get the Grand Feast there are good amounts of each item, however this time it wasn’t equally proportioned. There were tons of potatoes (which we didn’t think tasted good) and very little meat (which was dry). We also really missed the lamb lollipops. I must admit, I don’t think we’ll be going back.
It’s what I call my dinner trick! I bring any new friend, out of town colleague or really just anyone who will dine with me to Nuba! We even celebrated my 30th birthday at one of the locations. My favorite location though is the gastown location. - Carissa
We had the feast times four. Great food, leftovers for lunch the next day. Our relatives hadn’t experienced Lebanese food before so a great intro for them.
Always packed, but always good service. Food is unbeatable.
Food amazing. Fast service. All around great experience. Would go back.
We had an early reservation because of a later event. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived. The service was friendly and quick. Unfortunately the pita were dry and the food was suprisingly bland.
Nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. Perfect for a dinner with friends. The food is good but definitely not spectacular.
One of those times where you go for the food but the service is so basic, so mediocre. Food before drinks, wine served after the meal. And them the audacity of the restaurant to ask for a preset 18% - 25% tip. Seriously? Not once asked how the meal was. Note to self - better places in the city to grab Middle Eastern food in the city.
Food is excellent! Two vegans in our family; Nuba has great options for them too! Totally recommend eating here!
As always the food did not disappoint. Good menu selection for everyone. Cauliflower is amazing!
Very good food, good atmosphere, very enjoyable evening
The food was great but our meal was very rushed, with the servers bringing tons of food and drink all at once. Clearly no room at the table but we had to make space. The table was too small for a group of 5 and we were shoved in the corner. Then we were asked to leave because there is a time limit on the table, something I was not told when I made the reservation or when we sat down. This was in extremely poor taste when they knew we were celebrating a birthday with our family. I won’t go back here for a special meal again.
Nuba is always a great place to dine. Best to make a reservation even if it is for an early time, because it fills up quickly. The grand platter was delicious, with the notable exception of the lamb skewer, which was so dry and overcooked as to be almost inedible.
I wish we could of had better service. But the food was delicious.
Always good, quite loud but the food and the friendliness makes up for that.
Nice place and it provides many vegetarian options.
Excellent everything! You can’t go wrong. Service is prompt and friendly. Food and drinks are beautiful and delicious.
Sadly our dining experience was not as we would have expected especially for the pricing of food. The food flavors were pretty average and the salad my friend received had no dressing and so was dry. My soup also was very bland in flavor. I’d recommend other people to experience other middle eastern/Lebanese food before trying Nuba especially at your high pricing.
The service and ambiance was all very good. Friendly and helpful staff
Good menu choices with plenty of choices for vegetarians - we had some hot/cold mezze and a vegan stew between 3 of us. Hot food wasn't that hot when it came out and almost every mezze dish came with exactly the same accompaniments - i.e. hummus and pickled cabbage - these were nice, but more variety of accompaniments would be better for when customers order several dishes to share.
Waitress was friendly, helpful and attentive enough without being all over us.
The restaurant is down in a basement and quite dimly lit, which we didn't mind but some may do. We were sat very near the toilets which wasn't ideal.
Great menu, great spot with ambience like one if the Eastern Europe cave restaurants. Very friendly staff and though they made a mistake with our order they were so great about it that it really didn't matter. What I really liked was we were not rushed through our meal, the place was not noisy and the food was wonderful. Will be back.
laid back setting with amazing food!
Great food , friendly polite staff
Good for gluten free and shared dining. Was hard to find.
Excellent! A fantastic restaurant with great quality food!
the baked cauliflower ,feta and fruit salad and the lamb were outstanding
Overall a very nice experience. The lighting ambience in the restaurant was a little tough on the eyes overall because of the flickering candles and constant breeze. Other than that ... The service was great and the food phenomenal (was my first time!). Thanks, Nuba!
Great for veggies.
Amazing food and mezze options- I wanted to order everything! Also homemade ginger beer is great :)
Delicious food and really great service. Took my family and we had a really nice time there.
We went to Nuba as the menu was very gluten friendly- I am celiac and appreciated that the menu was clearly marked and there were so many options. They even served me romaine hearts for dipping, since I couldn't eat the pita bread. The food was delicious, and quick. The service was friendly and helpful. Overall a really enjoyable experience.
Nuba is always a safe bet, for family dinners or drinks with clients, really anything.
Have been to Nuba Gastown several times. This is often our go to restaurant in Gastown when we have friends visiting. The ambiance is casual but interesting, as is the decor.
The quality and freshness of the food has always been great, although the taste is slightly less savoury than the food in the other Nuba locations. Having said that, one cannot go wrong with this restaurant.
The staff are friendly and service is quick too.
Wonderful variety of dishes to share or hoard for yourself, all nicely and uniquely seasoned. Would definitely return.
Our visit for Nuba was fantastic. The food was great and the service was quite good too. Loved the platter. Wide variety and quite good choices for everyone in the group.
Excellent and fresh food. The perfect spot after a day exploring the city.
My first time at Nuba. The food was very good and the service was very quick. A great restaurant if you want some good food but have other plans, we had a concert to go to.
Nuba has always been our go-to place for amazing vegan and non-vegan cuisine. The food is always spot on and the service top notch! This time we started with the 'La Feast' share platter which features hummus, taboulleh, baba ghanooj and homemade pickled cabbage, along with fatoush salad, Najib’s special, falafel, mjadra, vegan stew, macedonian feta, and marinated olives. I also ordered the spicy shrimp which was delish. Plenty of food for my daughter and I. Ended with the Lebanese Pastries for desert. Our server was prompt as was the serving of our dinner, a plus since were off to a concert right after. Great cocktail/wine list too!
The food here was amazing, so many great choices and I loved the feast platter! Definitely would come back when i’m in the city!
Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable, service was attentive but not rushed. The food was fresh, varied, creative and healthy.
Great atmosphere to dine with friends in a hip, vibrant informal setting with good food at a reasonable price.
