The service was amazing. We sat outside in a private tent. We felt safe and well taken care of. The waiter was attentive and so sweet. We’ll definitely be back.
We loves this spot! Was in one of the little igloos which was so nice !
I eat at this restaurant several times when I’m in NYC. Incredible food and wine list and the staff make it feel like I’m meeting friends for dinner. I can’t say enough good things about Novita.
Alessandro and Michelangelo could not have been more attentive hosts. They have a beautiful outdoor setup to allow for safe and comfortable dining and a gracious manner which transported us to the native Napoli Italy, especially some great wine recs from the area. High recommend!
the food is always. usually the service is great. for 2 pasta dishes, a carpaccio and a glass of wine we were there for 1:40. waiter would sometimes not come outside for 7-8 minutes. needed AT LEAST one more waiter. having said that usually it is really good so will come back.
We had a lovely dinner sitting outside to celebrate our anniversary. The manager, Alessandro, treated us like royalty when he found out it was our anniversary. What a memorable evening! Aside from the amazing service, the food was outstanding. Thanks so much for helping to make our evening so enjoyable.
The food and service are above par. I highly recommend this restaurant.
They have a wonderful outdoor setup with a row of four-person “huts”. I was there for lunch and had the minestrone soup and grilled calamari salad. Both were really delicious. I would definitely go back!
The food was great but they didn't' honor our reservation.
It was very nice to sit in small clear modules out in the open which kept the wind and cold out and so we were able to enjoy our meal which has always been excellent and tasty.
Wonderful staff. Delicious Food. Definitely on my go-to list of favorites.
Lovely outdoor setup. Delicious food. Highly recommend!
I hate putting local businesses on blast, especially now during COVID, but what was supposed to be a celebratory 40th birthday dinner instead turned out to be a disaster and a total joke. I showed up to the restaurant at 5pm with a custom birthday cake for my boyfriend, told them I had a reservation for 2 people at 9pm that night, and they very graciously agreed to hold the cake and surprise him at the conclusion of our meal. So far so good. However, we arrived on time and had to wait 10 minutes to be seated after being dismissed by a hostess and another 10 minutes for someone to even come to our table to get drink orders, so right off the bat the service was subpar. Before we could even order any food, I saw my cake being brought out to another table of 5 who clearly had no idea where it came from but were happy to blow the candles out, nevertheless. I was speechless. To his credit, the waiter was extremely apologetic and said he got the wrong information from the daytime manager, but why the maitre d was not the first person to come over to our table is another mystery. They comped us a nice bottle of wine and *most* of the meal, but to be honest we thought it was weird that they didn’t immediately offer to comp the entire meal and instead kept asking us how they could make it up to us. I’m not the type of person to make a scene and just felt really awkward with the onus being put on me to tell them how to fix their mistake. Moreover, if you’re going to charge $42 on what should have been a $250 bill, why charge anything at all? The food itself was okay, nothing special or anything to go out of your way for. We live in the neighborhood and had been excited to visit as we often walk by and think that the ambience is beautiful, but there are plenty of other Italian places in the area where the food is comparable and much cheaper, or where the food is the same price and tastes much better. Sadly, would not recommend.
Just moved to the area and am loving having Novita as my new favorite local restaurant.
Good food. Pleassant service. Good wine.
good solid italian spot in East 20's. fish dishes at lunch were excellent.
For starters it was my birthday so I called ahead and asked for the little outdoor room they have and was told yes. I get there and they told me I couldn’t have it Bc they don’t do reservations like that and they had already seated someone in there. I was disappointed, it was the ENTIRE reason I went there.
After being seated, It took the waiter 35 minutes to come to our table and address us.
It took an hour to get our food and even then it came one by one over 20 minutes. My mom has to sit there with nothing as the rest of us stared at our food getting cold in front of us waiting for hers to come out.
The food was great but the timing of service was awful. Never going back.
Nice and quiet and tasty food. Didnt feel rushed! Friendly service. You can skip the crab cake but the cacio e pepe was great!
The food and service is excellent. The outdoor dining area is very good and the staff are very pleasant and attentive.
Servers were very attentive and timely. The dining tables were spaced out really well. The entrées were all delectable. One of my neighborhood faves.
Favorite neighborhood restaurant! The staff, atmosphere and food are consistently outstanding. Enjoy.
Terrible services and food was god awfu
Excellent service with staff going out of their way in providing us with a nice table. Recommend the squid ink pasta dish.
One of my favorite restaurants. A little pricey but worth it.
Thrilled that they are able to have a good size outdoor dining space.
I hope they continue to do well in these crazy times.
Amazing good. Wonderful staff. A great meal all the time. My number 1 go to restaurant.
The restaurant is consistent in their preparation, always good. i was surpsied at the extensive menu, but i was most taken by the adorable private plastic house my guest and i got to sit in. I have not seen this anywhere else, not even at Daniel Boulud...and it was
terrific! There are only 2 of these at Novita, but the other tables are well separated with protective dividers.
Tasty food and energetic, polite service. That outdoor dining setup is second to none.
Perfect in every way. Would go for any reason for a great lunch or dinner. Loved it.
Wonderful and romantic experience complete with birthday cake!
Deliciously prepared meals, attractively plated without being fussy. The waiter was efficient and friendly without being too familiar. I do find the wine list, however, to be overly expensive.
Food is delicious and Margherita provided us with excellent service to make a birthday celebration very memorable.
Always great food and service. Truffle pasta 5 stars!
Best Italian restaurant in NYC. Be sure to try the black truffle spaghetti.
Good social distancing, good food. I have been there occasionally over the years and it is always consistently a really good meal.
Nice outdoor space. Great atmosphere and set up on quiet city street.
Even in the face of the stress of the pandemic this place never loses its cool and always delivers top notch authentic Italian cuisine.
Fantastic food. A little slow but given the pandemic, it seems pretty normal. Plus, the outdoor space is cute so we were able to enjoy lingering around!
wonderful food, very nice outside venue, great service. highly recommended!
Novita has excellent food relative to the price. Also enjoyed the setup to establish and maintain ambience considering Covid-19 rules and regulations. Great time! Great food! Great place for date night!
Their social distancing measures are wonderful!
One of my favorites!!! We try to eat there at least once a month. We're so glad they have reopened outside.
