The meal started out well with tbe lobster soup but went down from there. The pork chip entree had no flavor and was very fatty. When asked about the meal we gave our comments and were offered something else but by then my appetite was gone. Interestingly, 2 other people beside us had the same entree and one woman ate hers and the guy beside us ate half. He commented to his dining partner how bad it was, looked at us and we nodded in agreement.
I understand sometimes meals may not turn out as intended for a chef however the restaurant should have offered a refund or even a free dessert but nothing. Poor food and worse...poor customer service in my opinion. I will not return.

The service was almost nonexistent, dirty dishes and glasses remained on the table throughout the meal. Waitress never returned to ask if more beverages were needed. Food was incredibly salty. The pork dish was a plate with a huge piece of meat in the center of the plate. The pork was tough, difficult to cut, even with a sharp knife, unappetizing to look at. Very disappointing. Will never recommend to others again.

Focus was more on presentation than taste. The pasta comes totally plain with no sauce or anything. Just a little pile of freshly made pasta. Kinda weird. Very pricey restaurant which is fine but I expect fine tasting food for what I paid.

Another great date night at our favorite place in Bangor. The craft cocktails are creative and delicious, and I love the new menu items with ingredients featured from their own greenhouse! Thanks for the excellent customer service and wonderful experience! We’ll be back soon!

Great food, super cute. Only comment would be to play some music. I prefer music to having to listen to other people talking at their tables.

Great personal service. Suggested amazing cocktails to pair with dinner and perfectly with dessert! Meal was very good. Appetizer was good but very small. Overall very happy and will be back. Dessert was the best only surpassed by drinks.

We were passing through Bangor on our annual family vacation. We always look for places to eat and visit that will make our trips memorable and special, and through on line reviews found Novio’s. We had a delicious meal all around, an interesting and inventive menu, but not over done or fussy. The only reason for 4 stars for food is that the house gnocchi that evening were dry and chewy, but I am sure this is an aberration since everything else was fabulous.

We were on the road to New Brunswick for some salmon fishing and stopped in Bangor for the night. Found Novio on OT and gave it a try. They had called in advance to discuss seating, so we were greeted like long standing customers when we arrived. The restaurant in is an old mill, brick interior, few tables, nice fully stocked bar. The food was outstanding. My steak with brown sugar and peppercorn crust was perfectly cooked, my friend's lobster soup seemed to have an entire lobster worth of meat in it. We talked about it the entire trip.

We had a flight delay and thus, time for dinner. We searched on line and found Novio's. The owner was very friendly, the wait staff accommodated our tight schedule and the food was creative and delicious. The ambiance is great, nice bar. We made a reservation to return for a birthday celebration. It's 70 minutes from our house- but worth it for a special meal and time.

A truly spectacular meal from greeting to dessert. Small intimate room with personal, attentive service. Delicious homemade pasta, perfectly cooked and presented, with locally sourced tomatos and an flavorful sauce that’s remembered for days after. Treat yourself and your special someone to a very special meal. Someone in this kitchen has magical powers.

Another amazing experience at Novio's! I love being able to try something new every time I visit since the menu changes regularly. The food is so fresh and everything is made from scratch. Also can't beat walking in and being greeted by name by the staff. If you haven't been yet, don't wait another moment!

We had a great evening with really good food, overall, and several outstanding options. In general it is a quiet, small, restaraunt with a warm ambiance. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive. The cocktails are well done, and the wine list is short, but with quality wines to choose from. Easy reservations via OpenTable. The outstanding dishes were the Lobster Chowder (best I've ever had) and the steak (the best our son has ever had) prepared perfectly. The raw oysters were fresh and very good with an unusual, finely chopped, mild, jalapeno salsa as an optional condiment, along with fresh lemon. My wife's fruit salad was also very good. I had a tuna dish that had cubed, seared tuna on a rice base. It was good, but I would have preferred a full piece of seared tuna, and the rice was a bit too salty. But... the lobster chowder alone made my night!!

We were stranded in Bangor due to a cancelled flight and chose Novio’s for dinner. Absolutely astoundingly wonderful. We had no idea what to expect and were impressed with absolutely everything. The place itself is lovely. Small, intimate, cozy. The owner is on premises and was very gracious. The bartender/server was amazing. The chef’s creations - we tried about six things from the menu - are five star. The selection of scotch was impressive. Can’t say enough about how enjoyable this was, such wonderful food in such a pleasant setting with no overly loud music at all - just quiet music very much in the background. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.

Novio’s is a nice addition to the Bangor dining scene. I loved the decor and the seating arrangements make for many nice cozy places to dine with your date/guest(s).
Clearly they’ve put a lot of thoughtful emphasis on their bar program. Not your run of the mill offering. True farm to table theme from drinks to food menu.
Menu is small but focused. Entrees were executed perfectly. We had the tenderloin and blue fin tuna; both were delicious and cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back on my next trip back to Bangor.

A wonderful bistro to have a small gathering for friends.
We went early in the week (Monday), so there wasn’t a crowd.
Owner and chef were very involved in ensuring we loved everything with our meals.
Very high quality, moderate portions, and extremely good value.

I love that the menu changes regularly so I'm always able to try new things, and they always have options for all diets (vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten free, etc.).
