Our first visit but surely not the last. Food was well prepared and delicious. Service was outstanding.
Quality northern Italian
One of my favorites
Expensive ,food was just fair ,entree of
Short rib for $44 was one star
Always great. Wonderful host. Sit as long as you like. Piano bar seating available
Everything was excellent . The octopus salad was great, the veal chop was exceptional.
The food and service at Novello is outstanding every one is treated as though they were a guest in Marco’s Home.
My bronzino was good but loaded with bones! Very very dark in the restaurant!
Consistently good food and great service. The menu offers a great variety of options with vegetarian options as well as meats and fish. We will return soon.
Raphael, our waiter was terrific - attentive, prompt, courteous.
Wine selection was excellent.
Food was very good.
The food was fantastic...the closest to food like you get in Italy I have had in the US.
We had out of town guests who really loved the food at this restaurant! The fact that the noise level is very low was a plus. The chicken piccata was excellent. So was the veal. Pasta Bolognese was fabulous! When you sit down the restaurant serves bruschetta and some yummy garlic focaccia. The creme brûlée and complimentary short bread cookies were excellent. The service was attentive.
Great all around. Branzino encrusted in salt was amazing.
This is a very good Italian restaurant. The food is authentic, tasty, served in generous portions and offered in a large variety. The restaurant has a live piano/bar room (a bit small and a bit too noisy for our taste), outdoor seating, nice but not very large either. So you may have to wait if you don't make a reservation. The third room is larger and quieter and very comfortable, so there is a place for every taste.....The service was very friendly although orders take longer to be served because the menu is extensive and dishes are prepared with individual care and not just rushed out to "turn tables" quickly. Prices are in line with the good value of the meals and the wine list and desserts are very very good. I surely return to Novello and will recommend to friends, family and business associates.
Unlike our past experience dinner was good not great. My Veal Franca was too lemony and a little chewy. My wife selected Veal Marsala which as always was very good .
we are never let down, they go all out to please you.Wait staff is excellent
We had a lovely evening, sat outside on a beautiful night. All food recommendations were delicious
We will definitely go back.
Very attentive staff. Good explanation of dishes.Food was very good and nice presentation High noise level. Will return
The food has been consistently excellent every time we come here. The veal chop is exceptional and the vegetarian dishes are a favorite of my wife. The service is top-notch and the owner is very welcoming. The desserts are scrumptious. We will return again and again.
Wonderful experience. Was our first time here. Food and service were out of this world.
My husband and I tried it on "Date Night". We asked to be seated in the Piano Bar and were not disappointed. The pianist played songs we knew well and it was a lovely background to a lovely meal. The food was delicious and the service great; attentive, but not intrusive. Can't wait to return.
The food was good. We had the breaded veal with arugula and the branzino special.
The service: not so good. When we have to ask the helper serving bread and water to get us a waiter because we had been waiting for a while to order or flag down the waiter to get more water, this is unacceptable.
When the waiter does not return to check in with the table after the meal is served, this is not good.
Novello: this is supposed to be a fine dining experience. Part of that experience is the service and attention given to the customer.
FYI: it is mostly an older crowd that eats here, in case you were wondering (not that it makes any difference, just a comment).
Just a very welcoming atmosphere with excellent food and service. Marco, the owner, a most gracious host. We like the piano/bar area as it has something of a supper club feel. Our second Valentines Day at Novello starting a tradition we hope to continue.
I was there for Valentine’s Day dinner. It was slightly crowded, and our waiter was having a hard time keeping up with everything, but the owner more than made up for it! The atomosphere is so romantic and the live piano player near the bar was a great touch! I would definitely recommend!!
a new and wonderful find for us that made for a lovely valentine's day evening! hope they keep doin' what they're doin' cause they're doin' it right!
We had a great time at Novello. We understand because it was Valentine's Day the meal delivery was a little slow. All in all we had a nice meal. The waiter and staff were very pleasant. Definitely going again!
It was a little bit to noisy, could use something to absorb the sounds
What a lovely gem! ! Charming Restaurante ! Delicious food and good service! The owner is very nice and hands on! We had a great dinner and they have descents wines and a full bar! .
Our favorite Italian restaurant in all of South Florida - between the amazing food and customer service you can't beat this neighborhood gem.
My favorite “ go to “ Italian , everything restaurant in Boca Raton!! The food is consistently outstanding, the owner and his wife set the tone for personalized and superb service !!!
If you are looking for a place with a welcoming atmosphere, best food from charred octopus to rack of lamb to Dover sole to home made pasta THIS IS IT!!! The bartender, the servers all smile and just make for the most perfect dining experience. I am proud to be a frequent flier at Nouvello !!! The outside seating is second to none but they fill up fast so make a reservation and your request !!! Really the best overall restaurant in Boca Raton/Delray area!!!
This was our second visit. The first visit was wonderful as we were seated in the intimate room with the bar and the piano player. This time we were seated in the main dining room, which was much too bright for a Saturday night dinner and felt less special. The waiter forgot to bring us the complimentary cookies at the end of the meal until I requested them (knowing that we got them on the previous visit). The food is very good, but the atmosphere and attentiveness is far superior in the smaller room.
Owner needs to be “less friendly” when approaching lady diners. He got uncomfortably close without an introduction. I was offended as was my wife.
We went on a Friday night. We had a lovely dinner. The hostess was friendly. Our waiter was very attentive.. The salad was fresh and the blue cheese dressing tasted homemade. An awesome garlic bread basket with complimentary bruschetta on the side. The chicken entree was fresh and flavored more naturally and not heavily sauced up, which is the way I prefer it.The restaurant generously gave us a good size complimentary Tiramisu for dessert.
The only other suggestion I would make for the restaurant is to turn their lights down at dinner time. It was a little bright especially if you were there for a romantic dinner.
Are party of 4 had reservations and were settled on time. Food was very good and hot. Enjoyed and will be coming back again.
Great place superb food great service you feel like you are in the old country
Great food. Wonderful host Marco. An enjoyable evening with great service. Special bronzini is fabulous as well as their bolognase sauce
See review. It should be self explanatory.
The manager greeted us in the parking lot which was nice. Gave us bruschetta and garlic bread, also very good. But my husband's veal dish was tiny. After all, what do potatoes cost? Why can't they give you a little more potatoes and veggies and make the plate look full. I had the veal meatball appetizer which was good and the eggplant rolatini which was ok, too smothered in cheese, for me. There are too many really good restaurants in Boca, we would not go back here.
Oh, it's also too pricey for what you get.
My wife and I both had fish and the sauce on each fish overpowered it, and we had to scrape it off. The fish was very good but the sauces were not good.
We were seated immediately in the piano room which is lovely and then we sat there for 15 minutes and had to ask someone to find a waiter. The waiter was "rushed" and said so. We could not understand him as he read the specials. A beautiful bottle of wine was ordered and he stumbled to find a wine opener and never returned to refill the glasses. The caprese salad while good was very, very small. I had the special of twin lobster tails and shrimp in a red sauce with home made pasta. It was excellent; however, I feel they should have taken the meat out of the tails at the table. Remember, this is not a cheap restaurant. My date's fish dish was swimming so that you had to dig for the fish; but it was good. The Italian Cheese Cake -- delicious. So overall -- good and bad.
This was our fourth visit and if it would have been our first it would have been our last. Had reservations on a busy Saturday night and still waited for a table. They were out of their salt crusted bronzino special at 6:45. Waited over 20 minutes for them to bring the wrong drinks to the table. Waited close to an hour for entree to arrive without the pasta side dish we ordered, it never came. Waitress asked if we were interested in dessert before entree even came. Over taxed wait staff catered to larger tables at the expense of other diners. The food at this restaurant is very good and the word certainly has gotten out. I understand it is tourist season and it gets busy, it is a nice problem to have but still a problem if the restaurant is ill prepared to handle it and this place clearly was. We are locals and have patronized this restaurant throughout the year and told our friends about it. The owner seems genuinely nice and working hard to make a go of it. You want to see a place like this do well in the face of all the chain italian restaurant crap out there but this last visit left a really bad taste in our mouth. Hopefully the current exception does not become the norm during season.
