Novello Restaurant & Bar
For old world charm, dine indoors. For a tropical "Addison Mizner" feel, opt for a table on the patio. Order a bottle from their well stocked wine cellar as you peruse the menu. An Italian Super Tuscan, Moscato, Montepulciano D’Abruzzo or Chianti by the bottle or the glass sets the mood.
At Novello, we suggest that you dine like an Italian...share!
Amazing food with an amazing environment. It was raining and the Owner Marco came out to my car with an umbrella to get my 2 month old daughter out of the car so she didn’t get wet. He was extremely friendly and came over to our table a few times throughout the night. We got to talking about what part of Italy he’s from and what part my family is from. Overall very nice conversation. Would highly recommend. Definitely 10 out of 10!
Outstanding food, service and ambiance. Can’t wait to dine there again!
Nice restaurant but overpriced. Food was not great and prices were very expensive. Wouldn’t go back
Very nice experience
Novello has become our favorite local restaurant. The food and selection of menu items is excellent, the staff is eager to please and attentive.
Location is good, but be sure to slow down a bit as you approach as it is set back a bit from Federal Highway.
The service was very good, the atmosphere made our dining enjoyable and above all, the food was served piping HOT! A very nice surprise. We will return very soon.
Food was very good. Very busy and very noisy. Not enough wait staff- our poor waiter was doing triple duty besides waiting on us.
Went here for lunch with a few friends. We sat outside and enjoyed the breeze and shade while dining on delicious food with wonderful, friendly service. The owner always comes by to say hello and check on the guests which is a nice touch. It’s always a pleasure eating here as the menu is diverse, the prices are reasonable, portion sizes are perfect and service is wonderful!
Somewhat limited menu with not a lot of fish options. We started with Cesar salad- the dressing was pretty tasteless- no hint of garlic. The livornese sauce was good but portions were moderate. The side of vegetables was minimal and the roast potatoes were
Not seasoned well. They should offer a side of pasta OR potatoes ( this is an Italian restaurant !). This is where the old Renzo’s used to be. Renzo’s was far tastier and had more choices. There are better Italian restaurants around- we are not coming back.
Overall it’s good food in a family like restaurant. No glitz but solid cooking.
Outrageously expensive. No information on price if the “specials” which turned out to be $60 for fish. Waiter ignored my wife’s request for me to order first and insisted that she order first and ignored me when I tried to order. So rude. Over $400 for 4 people and we had tap water. Food was decent but WAY overpriced. Huge disappointment.
Exceptional across the board. Good food, good service, a very pleasant start to my weekend...
Food and service were awesome! Went for lunch and can’t wait to go for dinner.
It was wonderful celebrating my birthday at such a wonderful restaurant
The food was good but the service was atrocious. The waiter brought out my wife’s meal with the sauce poured directly on the salmon she told him specifically to put the sauce on the side we had to send it back. Everyone else had their food so we had to eat it. When my wife’s food came she ate all alone by herself and it was her birthday very disappointing. They only had one server on taking care of eight or nine tables he could not handle it.When it came time for dessert the waiter was nowhere to be found the busboy presented us the dessert menu and took our order. The owner was aware of the situation and never came over to the table. I spent $400 there I’ll never go back again.
The service was top notch. We ate on the porch and loved the ambiance. The food was excellent and the best meal we had in Delray all week. The butter cookies at the end were delicious, too.
We were a party of 4. The chicken Novello was terrible. There was no prosciutto or spinach and the smoked mozzarella was so overdone, it was like leather. The other 3 dishes were just OK. The service was terrible. The waiter kept making excuses saying things were hectic that night. No one came around to see if we needed anything and never checked if we needed more water. Don’t waste your time or money!!
Novello is a great restaurant. The food, ambience and service is wonderful. Salem is an excellent server. I highly recommend Novello.
It had been too long since my last visit. As with prior visits the food was fantastic, service was efficient and very friendly and the selection of wines by the glass - excellent. I look forward to having an occasion to return soon.
Service was outstanding. The octopus salad was great - the octopus was tender and yet still had some bite to it. The veal chop - tremendous. And, the ricotta cheesecake... tremendous.
Excellent Italian food with friendly service. Good sized portions and table-side preparation for some main courses. Good value. Recommended.
Had the Dover sole. It was outstanding. Everything perfect right down to the delicious homemade cheese cake
Wonderful service fabulous food great foe every day and special occasions
Fantastic dinner and service. Couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner!
There is no better restaurant anywhere in south Florida...Marco and his team treat you like gold and the food is amazing. Thanks to Marco, Roland and everyone else for making our dinner special. You would swear you are in Italy. Nice Job!
All around very good
We went on Valetine’s Day and had an excellent meal. Will return again.
What a great Valentines Day present my husband surprised me with. Dinner at Novello was excellent. I had the Dover Sole. It was expertly filleted at tableside. Amazing how busy they were on a holiday, but their service and food quality didn’t seem to suffer one bit. My husband and our friends were very complimentary also. We also had a bottle of an outstanding Pinot Noir which was reasonably priced for such an establishment. We’ll definitely be back.
Consistently delicious food with welcoming, excellent service!
Food was good. Service was not good. Was ignored by the owners when we first arrived, and had to wait for them to fix a wine issue with another customer before they seated us. Took 3 of them to fix the wine issue. Pretty sure one of them could have seated us during that time. Our Waiter was slow and inattentive. Bill included an extra item, which they fixed when we brought it to their attention.
Food is good, but a bit on the pricey side.
I am not sure if I would recommend to a friend.
Perfect Valentine’s Day dinner. They brought us bruschetta and garlic bread which were very tasty. Then we had caprese salads, and seafood risotta and branzino dishes and ended with tiramisu and cappuccino. Food was great. Wait staff was wonderful and very attentive. We will definitely be back.
My wife and I were here for Valentine's Day. It was our 5th visit to this restaurant and it is the first time that things were not perfect. We each ordered the veal chop and both orders were overcooked resulting in a much drier piece of meat. All else was very good: the arugala salad and the wine and the service. We will likely come back again and if we order the veal chop we will specifically ask that they not overcook it.
Very good and we are going back
Excellent!! Marco is s wonderful host. The food is fabulous.
I recommend this restaurant 100%
Typical ornate Italian style with piano player during dinner. Food and service good. Gets my recommendation
This restaurant is located in the old Renzos on Federal Highway. The food was decent, but the inflexibility of the owner ruined it for u s. One of our companions asked for anchovies on his salad (a la carte) and was told it would be a $3 charge. Then I ordered the meatballs and spaghetti and asked if I could have Bolognese rather than Pomodoro sauce. It was a upcharge of $6. The three meals were good. My husband's fish was buried in a red sauce and he didn't like it at all. We will never return though because of the No Substitutions policy. This was not a cheap restaurant. Our bill with tip was over $230 and they were positively inflexible and begrudging.
Novello is a restaurant that does everything right. The restaurant is a welcome change from the corporate entities that dominate the South Florida area. Personal service
Is what makes Novello great. The owner together with the entire staff create a
friendly and comfortable dining experience.
The food and the level of service are first rate. I recommend Novello for a fantastic
Beautiful ambiance, amazing hosts, lovely piano music, great foot. What more could you want.
A loud table next to us interfered with our conversation and decreased our enjoyment of the evening.
Usual nice service and good presentation.
