Quiet but lively
Food was solid but server Ghorka was void of warmth or personality. He brought the bill before we could order coffee or desert. We felt rushed and unwelcome. We won’t be back any time soon.
Absolutely amazing, favorite place to eat in NYC!
My favorite place!
Wonderful dinner with friends. Celebrating 60th Birthday.
Nothing not to like but high prices and cramped, undersized tables ( if you’re not a known regular).
Gathering with friends for the holidays and wanting to catch up over great food and comfortable ambiance. And being greeted by Jean George himself was a wonderful bonus! Great service, food and drinks. Will make it back again.
I wasn't wowed by the food. Its a lovely restaurant for a business event.
Always good, beautiful room and amazing service. One of the best values in New York.
Chef stopped by the table. Amazing!
We held a holiday lunch with a good friend and colleague from Switzerland. Beautiful lunch; we ordered the three-course prix fixe, a wonderful deal. We order the butternut squash soup; the tuna tartare (unexpectedly and delightfully spicy); the salmon and the seabass, both in scrumptious presentations and so flavorful; and the chocolate meltdown cake and the apple pie, both just delicious. The ambience is wonderful with well-spaced tables meant for good conversation and solicitous, wonderful service. The restaurant was full and for good reason, with its wonderful location near Central Park. This was our second holiday lunch there--may we have many, many more!
Always consistent with food and service! I’ve been coming for over 10 years and love it for special occasions or business lunches or dinners.
Highly recommend the tuna tartare and shrimp/avocado salad.
Exceptional wine, food and excellent service by Robert - highly recommended!
Jean George's less formal and less expensive restaurant in the Trump Tower. You must pass through here to get to the (now) 2 star. Surprisingly, although we came here pre-theater, the ambience, service and food would merit a star were it not the "younger sister". We began with drinks: cucumber martini w grey goose (our request) was delicious. A (cold) foie gras served between layers of brioche brought back memories of Alsace and the wonderful, rich, foie gras served locally there. Steamed sea bass was light and perfect, complimented by a glass of Chenin blanc. the meringue dessert was also quite nice.
service was friendly, [professional and informative. our waiters favorites were spot on.
our seat was perfect: to our left, Central Park, in front, Columbus Circle both windows adorned with festive lights and wreaths.
we spent 1 hr 45 mins dining before walking a few short blocks to Lincoln Center.
Excellent great foodie experience
i have reservation at 9 pm and wait for 30 minutes more the and sake me to go to the bar, and the bar was full no chairs to set and no body ask for drinks was very poor attention the staff look not happy
finally when to my table and i was not happy to the entire time breed was very cool butter.
presentation ;look was done fast my eggs in caviar wast not great and brooke
More diverse choice of cuisine than previous visits
Noise level very high
I cannot possibly describe how good the tuna tartare is at Nougatine! You must go and experience it for yourself! I also adore the Passion fruit Pavlova for dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great city lunch.
Love this restaurant! They are the gold standard for service!
Don't order the pork chop. It was inedible. Cooked until it was dry and barely able to be cut. Lobster burger was meh. JG has gone down hill steadily to the point of not worth it. Service cordial but slow.
Every dish we had was outstanding. The best tuna tartare I’ve ever had. The sommelier was delightful, made great recommendations and didn’t oversell us. The service was speedy and impeccable and our server couldn’t have been more charming. Fantastic meal!
Took our 8 yr old granddaughter and also met a New York City long time friend and had a lovely meal for all of us.
We wanted to relax with a cocktail and not order dinner right away. We ordered a martini and while we waited for 15 minutes for our drink to be delivered we were asked two more times if we were ready to order. The fourth time we were asked if we were ready to order (within 30 minutes of arriving) we figured they wanted to turn our table so we ordered. Food was good. Wine list was SO ridiculously expensive that we each ordered a glass. I would return for lunch but not dinner.
Nougatine never disappoints, from the ambiance, exquisite cuisine and outstanding service! I highly recommend Nougatine and all of Jean-Georges restaurants!
Excellent as always!
Great place to take people from out of town because of view on park. Lunch set menu also good for business lunches (although plan for a longer lunch).
Dinner was great
As always impeccable food and service. Our go to place in NYC for an upmarket but casual dining experience!
Outstanding experience. Both food and service exceeded my expectations.
Everything was excellent. Our second time at restaurant and great both times. Server was outstanding
Went there for breakfast with a friend. Slow and unattentive service, took cups from table and returned with coffee already poured in. Cold, never asked if we wanted more. Food was average good for breakfast.
Our experience was amazing!! Jean George himself was there and said hello and took a picture with us. We will absolutely go back!!
Only complaint - we had to wait 30 minutes for our table - we had a reservations for 1:45 and did not sit until 2:15.
Every time i want to celebrate something i go to nougatine and i have never been disapointed. The lunch value is amazing. The food always delicious and surprising. The atmophere very relaxed. Still the perfect restaurant for me! But again i like Jean Georges’s cooking in all his restaurants
We go to Nougatine regularly but this was not a good day and the Restaurant Manager was poor. We asked for a break between appetizers and the main meal (as we always do - it’s even our booking notes) however the kitchen decided to cook our diver soles anyway. The server knew we wouldn’t want them and I said we wanted them recooked. I could see her talking to the restaurant manager who told her to bring the original food out which was cold. We sent it back and had it remade but the restaurant manager didn’t even come to the table to say anything. I don’t blame the server at all she did all she could but the restaurant manager should be fired. He made the whole situation worse. Spoilt my wife’s birthday.
Great food great service but very loud guests nearby
When one thinks of a nougatine, images of a fine French delicacy come to mind. In the case of Jean Georges' 'budget' rendition of a dining destination, a Milk Dud would be more appropriate. Amateurish wait staff and mediocre fare don't justify the cost. Our advice- go elsewhere...
