The food was outstanding, unfortunately, the service was sub-par. We were three girlfriends going to out to celebrate one of our birthdays. While our server put on an air of elegance, he was a terrible listener. For example, I ordered one glass of rose and my friend ordered an another of a different rose. What does he serve? Both of us the same. When he started to poor for me, I assumed it was just going to be a taste- but when he filled it all the way and I reminded him I had ordered the other one, he did offer to exchange it, but I said no worries.
For appetizer two of us had the tuna which was amazing. For the main course, two of us had the haddock and one the pork chop. All was delicious. For the Haddock, I had asked for the sauce on this side because of the curry. So what does he do? He serves the sauce on the fish. Again, he offered to change it, but I was not going to be wasteful. So I ate it anyway. Yes, I would have preferred it without the sauce.
The noise level at 6:00 was such that you could hold a conversation. By 8:00 the place was packed and very noisy.
The service did not match the price, I would go elsewhere for another occasion.

We love eating at Your restaurants. Food and services is always impeccable. Our favorites are Nougatine and The Mark. We go to both quite often at least once a month.
Let’s review our dinner tonight. We had a reservation for 7:30 for which we arrived promptly. We waited at the bar and were seated after 40 minute wait. We were 3 and they had a 4 top table available for a while that could have accommodate us, however this was not done. Finally after 40 minute wait we were seated. Appetizers arrived on time and were good. Entree took almost one hour after appetizers. The salmon my wife ordered medium rare arrived well done and too salty, not really edible. At this point we could not get another one. It was 9:45 PM and not that hungry anymore. The manager and waiters kept apologizing and thanking us for being patient. We were patient!
The salmon and drinks were written off our check. Not sure this made up for a sub par meal.
We had a wonderful meal as always - early Sunday dinner in this case after the theater. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was delicious - Tasmanian trout on crispy rice (we usually also get one for dessert it's so good), kale salad, lobster burger, veal Milanese, and chocolate fondant. We couldn't have a higher opinion of Nougatine - it is one of the great restaurants in Manhattan - chic but easy-going .
Wonderful luncheon! Service was most gracious and food superb. We had a wonderful celebration and hope to return to Nougatine soon.
It would have been perfect if we were given a table with a view. I requested such like 3 weeks before and then somebody called me from the restaurant two days before that assured me that we will have that table but then they gave us a table in the dark corner of the restaurant so I was really disappointed but the food was great but I can get that great food in other great NY restaurants.
Good food, service is slow and they gave us our main courses before the appetizers. We were told the computer broke and the mistakes happened.
But we still had a great time.
Yes it was the best meal, bar none, in my life. Appetizer trout and rice cakes, soup pea as you’ve never seen it (bright green: must have picked them Sat. afternoon; poured at table into prepared bowls with accoutrements already there); entree sea bass on spinach so garnished as to be unparalleled. I mean every taste bud activated (you know how taste buds are less active the older we get? Come here and have the sea bass to feel like you’re buds are 18 again!)
The value added by this chef is off the charts.
Companion had delectable crab cake appetizer, the pea soup and lobster entree highly prepared— just the ample meat without the shell— and seasoned with delicious sauce and spices and a very serious and much more complex meal than expected.
Nougatine was excellent as usual. The food is beautifully and imaginatively prepared - without ever stepping over the edge into trying way too hard just to produce something new. The environment is elegant but relaxed, and the service compatible with this, being very attentive but not pretentious. So the tone set in every way is one of great taste and balance, and makes the evening at Nougatine an excellent experience.
Always a delicious meal at Nougatine. The pistachio dessert is outstanding.
Fish was delicious. I wish you offered more vegan options. I wish you offered more dairy free gluten free vegan options. I really liked your restaurant!
Creme brûlée foie gras was great. Nice touch of dried fruit and candied nuts on top. Tuna tartare was great as well. No fancy toasts for either. Veal Milanese breaded moderately with no distinct flavor until dipped in accompanying sauce. Steamed fresh sea bass wonderful!
Prix Fixe lunch was a great value. Portions were very nice size and everything was delicious.
The food and the service could not have been better. When seated we were a little sceptical as the tables for two are very cramped. Once our server came and the first plates arrived all was forgiven. Definitely a foodie destination. Zero complaints from the food to the wine. A definite spot to go to, casual but elegant.

We have dined here several times before. This time was very disappointing. The service was extremely slow. It took an hour to get the first course, and only after repeated requests for the menu, water etc.. I had asked for my main course salmon to be rare, it arrived after 2 hours cooked through. I just did not have the energy to send it back, and I did not want to make our friends from California uncomfortable since I was the one who had suggested this restaurant.
We were done in 3 1/2 hours. I sensed there was an error and that our table was not assigned to anyone. For the price, it was truly miserable. I will not go back.

We had another superb meal at Nougatine. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city and is always excellent all around. I highly recommend it.
Not usually a fan of European/Western food, but this was absolutely amazing. Tuna Tartar was by far the best!
I have enjoyably dined here many times, but this time both the food and the service fell flat, for reasons I can’t really explain.

Always a hit. I hesitate to say the fixed price menu is one of the best values in New York, for fear they will raise the prices. :-) Nougatine has always delivered excellent food at a reasonable price. It continues to be a favorite for special occasions and out of town guests. Feels special without being intimidating or too pricey. The shrimp salad could be a meal and yet it’s a first course offering of the 3 course fixed price menu. The warm chocolate cake is a delightful finish.

Terrible service - haughty waiters + helpers who can’t speak English. Waiters not around when you need them, but stuck their head in to ask how’s food three times, all mid-bite!
Table was behind a wall & so close to diners at next table I could smell their heavy cologne.

we had a great lunch! We were celebrating my boss birthday, Jean Georges was there and came to say hello. We ordered a delicious bottle of Rose Champagne, food was delicious service impeccable, a lovely time all around!
My third visit here, but my first at lunch. Great value at lunchtime. Food is superb. I had a delicious steamed artichoke with cornichon mayonnaise. My second course was a small beef tenderloin filet served with asparagus, asparagus puree and jalepenos. An inventive presentation and a delicious combination. My waiter made an error but corrected it and comped a glass of wine. No one is 100% perfect 100% of the time, but a server who goes the extra mile after an error is made is appreciated. In my opinion, this remains one of the nicest restaurants in New York. A wonderful place for lunch before a matinee at Lincoln Center. If you are lucky, as I was, you may see Jean Georges walking through the restaurant.

This restaurant has become our go-to place for a pre-theatre matinee lunch on Saturday. Their prix-fixe menu at $38 changes seasonally and is always outstanding and very good value. Service is professional without being snooty and the view towards Central Park (across the street) very atmospheric.
We had a delicious lunch here and this is becoming a go to place each time we come to New York. The service is impeccable and the the food imaginative and beautifully presented. The pre fix lunch is an amazing with lots of choices.
Excellent as always, NEVER disappoints. Great food and service.
