Poor and pushy service. I was handed the bill while still eating then pushed to pay as breakfast cheques needed to be closed out. A colleauge recommended I dine here for breakfast while in New York for lunch, I was really shocked at the service. I will not be recommending it to friends or family nor will I try it again. Disappointing for such a well regarded establishment.
Maybe breakfast booking should not be taken so close to kitchen closing for breakfast. I rushed the end of my meal and was glad to leave. A total let down. Not worth of the reputation it carries.
I've been a frequent visitor to Cafe Nougatine so I am familiar with their level of excellence. I particularly enjoy lunch - the menu is diverse and inventive and the light from outdoors infuses the space. The ambiance is quiet enough to enjoy a good conversation but the crowd is trendy and international. The kitchen continues to turn out a high level cuisine but in a casual style.
I love Nougatine!! I try to go there every time I come to NYC. I went twice on this trip.
Rather nice place, tables for 2 too small, highly overpriced for what it is. a sole for $78? Wine per glass also highly overpriced.
Not coming back again.
Birthday special dinner before ballet.
Dinner is better than lunch here. Menu more satisfying in the evening
One of our favorites- food, service and ambiance always the best- when patio open my favorite place in city
Sea bass was too salty. Sitting was too crowded.
Can't go wrong. Never disappointed here. When not sure what to order because of so many great selections, the staff always provides great details to help make a decision. I've never been disappointed in a recommendation.
Lovely dinner with friends. Food was delicious. I had the burrata and veal and although portions were big, I ate it all and it was delicious. My friends had the lobster and said it was also delicious. Enjoyed our evening watching the snow fall in Central Park outside the window and chatting. Service was perfect. Pace was not rushed at our request but was attentive without being intrusive.
The Food was incredible, something on the menu for everyone. The Service was inbecable, not intursive but gracious. The meal was well paced not rushed and we all felt very much at home. I would certainly go again and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional meal and dinning experience.
Jean Georges is a high water mark in a city already focused on quality dining. The setting in the Trump Tower overlooking the Park can’t be beat. Everything we had, from the peeky-toed crab cake to the perfectly executed Dover Sole, was perfect. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We dined here a few years ago and our experience recently was even better. Looking forward to our next visit.
I often dine at this neighborhood restaurant. The lunch this time was superb. An excellent selection and very tasty. I particularly enjoyed the salmon filet with pepper crust and root vegetables in a squash puree. It's such a pleasant setting that my friend and I were chatting away not realizing that we had indeed treated ourselves to a three hour lunch!
Tolles Restaurant mit fairen Preisen.
That restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. Whch cuisine was delicious.
We celebrated Valentine's Day a bit early at Nougatine, shortly after a recital at Carnegie Hall.
The level of service at Nougatine really stands out, which isn't surprising when you consider it's part of the highly rated Jean Georges. The menu is limited, but there appeared to be something for just about any taste. My wife enjoyed the Lobster, while I had the bacon wrapped pork chop. Both were exceptional.
The atmosphere was clean and modern and our table offered a nice view of Central Park and Columbus Circle. In fact, I have to give a special shout out to the matradee that made sure we were seated a table with a little romance, when he noticed my wife holding a bouquet of flowers.
Great service and food. I would recommend this restaurant for special occasion and quick business meal.
We had been here several times a couple of years back and liked it then. It was still rated highly so we brought our friends. Very disappointing. I guess it’s just become a place for tourists. Too bad. UWS needs better restaurants.
Remarkable food that is worthy of a Michelin star in its own right and should not be overshadowed by its big brother.
The location is great . Parking is at the back of the building. You have to walk from the outside to get to the front door. The service is amazing. The waiters are very responsive and efficient, The food is fantastic. Crockery and cutlery was very well selected. The crockery is from some pottery designer in NY state. I wanted the name of the maker but the waiter was unable to find out. The teapots were also beauiful , again I wanted to know who was the manufacturer/ brand
The food was 5/5. My fish was cooked perfectly and the sauces exquisite.
The soup was sumptuous and the dessert that I had was a chocolate lava cake , it was heavenly.
Better than restaurant week style.
Birthday brunch for my dad...it was fantastic.
Thought there was a brunch menu on Saturday, but only breakfast was served. Nice ambiance and food is fine, but nothing special. Should be clearer note that brunch is only on Sunday
I went in for the Restaurant week menu that they had posted online in advance which happened to be totally different when we showed up there. And I know their Restaurant week menu was supposed to change every week which is why I checked the menu the morning of. It took them a good 20 minutes to bring over our bottle of wine and our cocktail (Every single time we ordered one). My husband and a Friend ordered the Ribeye for 2 which was supposed to be their signature dish and that too was wayy below average and was super dry. The only thing we all loved was the Foie Gras Brulee. The worst part was the server NEVER even once checked up on us to ask how the food was. I mean come on, When you go to a sister property of a Michelin Star Restaurant, you go in with at least a few expectations. This was my 6th restaurant week dinner over the last 3 weeks and was going to be the Grand Finale because of how much I had heard about he restaurant but as much as it hurts to say this, it was my LEAST favorite.
I definitely would never ever go back there.
Magnífica experiencia ! Cena exquisita e innovadora !
Fabulous food. Excellent attentive service Kudos to the chefs!!
We ordered the $38 prix-fixe lunch set and the overall experience is disappointing. First, they even did not clean fork! The butter was so hard to put on the super sour bread. The dressing for tuna tartare and scallop was salty. Chocolate cake was the only thing we like for that lunch.
I’m so sad+disappointed with our experience at Nougatine! I was so excited to try a Jean George Michelin restaurant for the first time, ever since my friend went and finding out it was restaurant week when my friends & I were in NYC. But when the food came out, the taste was super disappointing! Two of my friends shrimp appetizers were overcooked and rubbery. The yuzu sauce was very sour for my tuna tartare appy and scallop+squash entree, too much yuzu in random dishes! My husband’s salmon was well done instead of medium rare. They mixed up all the desserts, gave us the wrong ones we didn’t order, and didn’t apologize for it. I totally understand it’s busy during restaurant week. But I had high standards for a three star Michelin restaurant and it was felt like an underwhelming chain restaurant in the end. Presentation of the food was nice, but the taste was definitely not there.
