Sadly, the food did not meet our expectations. Lovely service, though.
The service at Nougatine was outstanding. The waitstaff was extremely attentive. We did the lunch prix fixe and it was worth it. Everything we ordered tasted delicious. All of seafood was prepared perfectly and the molten chocolate lava cake was phenomenal.
The food was very good, but the service was atrocious. We went through the meal with basically no waiter. Expected better service.
For a highly recommended restaurant to say we were disappoint is an understatement. We went for breakfast so it shouldn’t have been that hard.
Wonderful food and service. Highly recommend. They made extra effort to get us out in time for the theater
Very enjoyable lunch & wonderful service staff. Especially nice that management sent a tray of chocolates for our Anniversary.
Great brunch place and very tasty food. would def go again if i need to eat around central park.
Over the years, consistently excellent on all counts!
We love Nougatine. Food, service, decor, ambiance, location — it’s all good. I particularly like their tuna tartare and kale salad and they serve a great burger. We have been there for lunch and dinner many times. Highly recommend it.
My favorite restaurant in Manhattan, hands down!!!
Wonderful lunch with superb food and excellent service.
Delicious Asian fusion food with great wine selection.
Met the Chef- outstanding
So good, i went 2 days in a row whilst visiting from London.
We love the food, the ambience, Nougatine is just that much more casual than JeanGeorges itself.
Also delighted that this is where Jean Georges seems to spend most time cooking and being most visible.
The service this time was rushed and our server let us know that we had to order right away because the kitchen was closing soon. We asked when and they said 3:30... it was 2:30 when we sat down at the table. Strange. And unexpected. Have had a much better experience in the past. This was an off day. And a special occasion for a birthday and an out of town guest that had never been there before. Bad first impresssion
We love Nougatine, the slightly more informal sister to Jean Georges - simply one of the best week time lunch special prix fixe.
A must visit on each trip we come to NYC plus you often get the added bonus of seeing the great man himself - JeanGeorges
I was not told of the menu change where you can’t have the 3 course menu on weekends. This change was done a month ago after I made the reservation and I should have been warned. I go there every time in nyc so it was a big disappointment going somewhere and not getting what you came for. The brunch was a good alternative, but i just wasn’t expecting it.
The service was impeccable. And the food was good but had absolutely no finesse. The presentation of the endive salad was awful: a plate crowded with endive leaves drowning in dollops of sauce. My husband's veal looked like it was served family style and the butterscotch pudding was served in what looked to be a tumbler, with no sea salt caramel. It doesn't help that from where I sat my view was of a temporary chain link fence in front of the building. In a word, disappointing.
It seems to be in decline . One doesn’t mind paying a premium for creative cuisine. Nougatine has gone stale. Is there a new chef. It is a shadow of its past. Pasta dishes scream with inappropriate spicieness- to the point of being inedible . The veal Milanese is good and worth the price. The shrimp salad is artless and tasteless with a few shrimp surrounding a bed of greens with a particularly uninvelntive dressing. This version of the dish is a pale descendant of the prior version of shrimp salad on the menu. Finally the removal of the broccolini pesto pasts was a big mistake. For us it was a signature dish for the restaurant. Pleasant digs near the window but very low value food for the most part. Jean Georges’s empire might have spread to wide with declining quality at its flagship sites as a consequence.
Food quality actually average
Wine offer completely prohibitive
Atmosphere very average, nothing special about the place
We went here to celebrate a friend’s Birthday. The food was good, though wish there were more veggie options. The ambiance, the service, overall was great and would definitely come back.
Bastante ruidoso, lleno de aceite de la cocina y mucha gente muy próxima entre las mesas.
La comida es muy buena, el servicio también lo fué, pwro nada que sea extraordinario
It was in overal great. The meat was prepared wonderful, but I wouldn’t recommend the pecan tart (it was too sweet and too dry)
The meal is delicious, the wine list is very good, the ambience very casual and the service is poor!
What a special restaurant! Nougatine never fails to disappoint! The Sommeliers are particularly helpful!
Great experience! Our server, Ruman, was very attentive throughout the meal. I got the crispy sea trout and Dover sole that he recommended and would definitely come back for those. So good! The dining room was very lively, but conversation was still easy without raising your voice.
Very disappointing meal. Sommelier and waiter wonderful. Pear/ endive salad soggy and not successful. Salmon ordered medium rare arrived well done. Very mediocre experience at best. Just had a delicious lunch there several weeks prior. Not good for a restaurant of this caliber to be so uneven.
Arrived for my 1 30 reservation and was not seated until 2 05. Lots of people waiting for tables they forgot my name and I think if I hadn’t said I was calling customer service I’m no sure I would have been seated til 3. Awful experience
Excellent food. Great service and ambiance. Perfect for any occassion.
Good experience with especially perfect foods!
Delicious creative food, surprisingly affordable dessert - the corn soufflé with chili ice-cream is memorable - very attentive service: our waiter picked up we were celebrating an anniversary and desserts were served with a sweet note from the kitchen. Wine menu is a little bit overpriced, but we managed to find a good match for our food choices within our price range. Will definitely recommend for special occasions or foodies!
As always, the food was delicious and the ambiance lovely. Sadly, the service was a bit slow and lackluster. I chalk this up to our server and not the restaurant as a whole.
There are no lunch cources. Poor
Cute place with nice view. Food is OK, the drink is outstanding.
We had a great lunch. The pre fix lunch menu is a great deal. If you go you must have the tuna tartar. It is to die for....make reservations....
pleasant room, attentive service, delicious food, good wine - at a reasonable cost.
This continues to be one of New York’s truly great restaurants. Food, service, ambience—superb, impeccable.
The Pre Fixe lunch is a great value. Great location and atmosphere, though noise levels can get pretty high.
We arrived at 5:30 pm our order was taken at 6:05 . The food arrived at 6:55pm we had opera at the Met at 7:30. We told the server as we sat down at the table that we had to be out of the restaurant at 7:10z. We refused to accept our main course as a take out which they felt was right. Ultimately we paid for our drinks and first course . What a disappointment band annoyance.
