   Nougatine at Jean Georges is the perfect pre Lincoln Center dining spot. Our waiter was very nice once he got beyond the programmed "What brings you to us today?" and service was attentive. The early evening views of Columbus Circle at this time of year are fun. The peake toe crabcake appetizer was excellent. Unfortunately salmon was overcooked. The list of wines by the glass offered some very nice choices. The exquisite amuse buche before dinner were thin asparagus in a spicey panko crust with a lemon based dipping sauce. The French fries were much too salty. Dessert was the always excellent warm varona chocolate cake. We'll be back again. Not always perfect, but close to it.

   Thought I had a 12:30 reservation and it was for 12 My mistake or maybe I put in 12:30 and 12 was made So I lost the indoor seating but was accommodated quickly but outdoors - slow service and noisy

   We dined at Nougatine for a celebratory lunch. The food and presentation was outstanding. The restaurant has a wine list filled with excellent but few inexpensive wines. Our service was very good and we did not feel rushed in any way. I hope to dine again there in the future.

   After our last disappointing visit when the servers forgot us and we waited an hour between main course and desert, we had a mostly wonderful experience, Tuna tartare, as usual, was great but prix fixe included foie gras that was terrific. Black bass splendid, angel hair pasta generous and maybe not great but very good. Molten chocolate desert as always excellent, and my wife liked the rubbarb tart--which I thought was more of a cake--slightly more than I. But the entire meal was at the expected high level and served well. Two problems: The table next to us had one or two shouters among five. And our preferred tables near the window were taken.

    We had exceptional service and wonderful food. The only two issues: They seat families and older (40+) people at less desirable tables. And, they restaurant is in a Trump building.

    For a supposedly 5 star restaurant, the service was poor on several levels. I had put in a request for my friend's birthday which was completely ignored. They ended up throwing out our leftovers and then offered to remake it. But then called us to let us know that they found it later. In the trash??? It was an awful way to leave the restaurant. Just a disappointing experience overall.

    We came to celebrate my wife's Bday with our 11 year olds. The service staff didn’t treat them like “kids” and us as though we were bringing in a nuisance. The food was what you’d expect at a Jean Georges restaurant. My only criticism is that the bread should be warm & butter not cold so it’s more easily spread. The lobster “burger” was full of big pieces of lobster & beef cooked perfectly medium rare. We also love watching preparations in the open kitchen. Highly recommend.

    This is one of the loveliest restaurants in New York. The view, the rarity of having picture windows looking out at the sky and trees is such a treat. The whole feeling of the place is just wonderful They were so nice to let me sit and wait for my brother who was late due to traveling from far away. My husband and I also love Nougatine. (The only unfortunate thing is that it is attached to a Trump building, and just walking near that makes me not feel good.)

    Food is always great at Nougatine. The decor the scenery facing the beautiful trees from the windows are great too. However, service was lacking this morning. We arrived for our 930 am reservation, and did not get our eggs and pancakes until 1015 am. Not sure why it took so long for the food to arrive. The restaurant was not crowded but it seemed there was a delay in the kitchen.

    Great service and good quality. While some dishes lacked ingenuity, execution was spot on, flavors were interesting and there's more to try. Excellent cocktails. Incredibly attentive and engaging service accomplished without being intrusive or pretentious.

    We found the whole experience uninspiring. More pretense than actual quality. I am not a food critic, I cannot deconstruct tastes/dishes in professional terms, it's more "like/don't like" analysis. Based on earlier reviews we were expecting something special from Nougatine. Maybe, my tastes are not up to culinary standards, but for me personally it was too much sweetness in foie grass brulee, too bland in glazed mushrooms accompanying prosciutto wrapped pork chop, a little too much lemon in a potato salad that looked more like badly prepared mashed potatoes. And dessert (strawberry shortcake) was absolutely boring. Even my husband's double espresso was not served in a proper small coffee cup but generic tea cup...We left feeling that the place was overrated and overpriced judging by quality of food offered. Not coming back.

    A gourmand friend came to visit the city from Bay Area. She’s been to many top restaurants here and other places. I took her to Nougatine and she loved it. The next day, she and her husband went again for brunch as their last meal on this trip. Between the two of us, we ordered Burrata and warm shrimp salad for appetizers, veal and bass as main dishes. Shrimp salad looks like an ordinary dish but from the first bite on, it woke up and pleased every taste bud in my mouth. The veal was not only the tenderest I had ever had, but also the tastiest. The other two dishes were superb as well.

    Unfortunately, the service was a complete disaster – it would have been unacceptable in any restaurant but certainly for a $400 lunch. I have been coming to Jean George's (both Nougatine and JG's dining room) for over a decade so clearly I generally am fond of their cuisine and service. I hope this was a one time faux-pas.

    The food is consistently good here… We keep coming back… We have business meetings here... we have romantic evenings here and ....we have dinner and lunch with friends here... From fish to chicken to pasta it is all first rate and you can often see Jean George here... I want one thing.... can you add mango sorbet to your sorbet choices....

    Outstanding food, courteous and attentive service, and beautiful decor. My one critique is the overall aura of "stuffiness" amongst the clientele. You ARE dining in Central Park West, so this is to be expected I suppose.
