Fish was delicious. I wish you offered more vegan options. I wish you offered more dairy free gluten free vegan options. I really liked your restaurant!
Creme brûlée foie gras was great. Nice touch of dried fruit and candied nuts on top. Tuna tartare was great as well. No fancy toasts for either. Veal Milanese breaded moderately with no distinct flavor until dipped in accompanying sauce. Steamed fresh sea bass wonderful!
Prix Fixe lunch was a great value. Portions were very nice size and everything was delicious.
The food and the service could not have been better. When seated we were a little sceptical as the tables for two are very cramped. Once our server came and the first plates arrived all was forgiven. Definitely a foodie destination. Zero complaints from the food to the wine. A definite spot to go to, casual but elegant.
Great place& value . One of the best in NY
The food is always top notch as well as the service
Jean George’s presence makes a world of difference. The food was divine and portions plentiful. Very pleasing to the eyes and tastebuds.
Our favorite lunch in New York. Never miss at least one meal during each visit to New York City.
We have dined here several times before. This time was very disappointing. The service was extremely slow. It took an hour to get the first course, and only after repeated requests for the menu, water etc.. I had asked for my main course salmon to be rare, it arrived after 2 hours cooked through. I just did not have the energy to send it back, and I did not want to make our friends from California uncomfortable since I was the one who had suggested this restaurant.
We were done in 3 1/2 hours. I sensed there was an error and that our table was not assigned to anyone. For the price, it was truly miserable. I will not go back.
Have been to Nougatine before and service was outstanding. This last visit
Was disappointing I that we had to ask for water, a menu, and when the small
Bowl of sorbet came...with jus5 one small amount..golf ball size ice cream..
Plopped it down in front of the guest. We had to request it to put the small
Pot on a plate. Sloppy help.
We had another superb meal at Nougatine. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city and is always excellent all around. I highly recommend it.
Not usually a fan of European/Western food, but this was absolutely amazing. Tuna Tartar was by far the best!
I have enjoyably dined here many times, but this time both the food and the service fell flat, for reasons I can’t really explain.
Really enjoy visiting this restaurant. Great wine and food. Never disappoints.
Great! Love the prix fixe lunch. Varied selection and portions just right not too small and not too big. Wait staff very attentive.
Exceeded our expectations. A beautiful afternoon and a memorable experience
Always a hit. I hesitate to say the fixed price menu is one of the best values in New York, for fear they will raise the prices. :-) Nougatine has always delivered excellent food at a reasonable price. It continues to be a favorite for special occasions and out of town guests. Feels special without being intimidating or too pricey. The shrimp salad could be a meal and yet it’s a first course offering of the 3 course fixed price menu. The warm chocolate cake is a delightful finish.
Love this Jean George restaurant-Best food, service and great decor
We eat here before Jazz at the Appel Room several times a year and it never grows old or disappoints
Love this restaurant!
Food was wonderful as always and the service was exemplary. I highly recommend the burrata
with rhubarb sauce, the shrimp salad and the molten chocolate cake.
I greatly appreciated the hostess making special accommodations for us to move inside when it became chilly. Thank you so much!
Terrible service - haughty waiters + helpers who can’t speak English. Waiters not around when you need them, but stuck their head in to ask how’s food three times, all mid-bite!
Table was behind a wall & so close to diners at next table I could smell their heavy cologne.
Bland food took forever to arrive. Most overrated restaurant in NYC.
we had a great lunch! We were celebrating my boss birthday, Jean Georges was there and came to say hello. We ordered a delicious bottle of Rose Champagne, food was delicious service impeccable, a lovely time all around!
My third visit here, but my first at lunch. Great value at lunchtime. Food is superb. I had a delicious steamed artichoke with cornichon mayonnaise. My second course was a small beef tenderloin filet served with asparagus, asparagus puree and jalepenos. An inventive presentation and a delicious combination. My waiter made an error but corrected it and comped a glass of wine. No one is 100% perfect 100% of the time, but a server who goes the extra mile after an error is made is appreciated. In my opinion, this remains one of the nicest restaurants in New York. A wonderful place for lunch before a matinee at Lincoln Center. If you are lucky, as I was, you may see Jean Georges walking through the restaurant.
Always excellent in every way.
i had a lunch
nice but a little noisy
This restaurant has become our go-to place for a pre-theatre matinee lunch on Saturday. Their prix-fixe menu at $38 changes seasonally and is always outstanding and very good value. Service is professional without being snooty and the view towards Central Park (across the street) very atmospheric.
We had a delicious lunch here and this is becoming a go to place each time we come to New York. The service is impeccable and the the food imaginative and beautifully presented. The pre fix lunch is an amazing with lots of choices.
Excellent as always, NEVER disappoints. Great food and service.
Always the best
Location, Location. Second visit. The first visit was exceptional the second was nice but not special. Mostly due to menu changes. Offerings were not as unique.
Thank you for a beautiful birthday celebration. The special dessert was the best of it's kind ever had (and have had a lot of that selection).
Great like always
Great food and wine. Special visit to NY from London. More than made up for the running rain.
Lucky to get a last minute reservation. Totally Awesome.
The food was really good but we had to wait an hour and a half for our entree, considering that it was a fixed menu, it didn’t make sense that we had to wait so long for it.
Amazing food and the service was excellent. This is the perfect dining and food experience.
THE SERVICE WAS BEYOND BAD. IT SEEMS THAT IF JG IS IN THE HOUSE EVERYONE IS ON THEIR TOES, BUT IF HE ISN'T THERE IS NO MANAGEMENT, AT LEAST THIS WAS THE SITUATION ON TUESDAY NIGHT. WE HAD TO ASK FOR SEVERAL TIMES FOR THINGS THAT ANY FUNCTIONING RESTAURANT WOULD OFFER AUTOMATICALLY. AS A REPEAT CLIENT FOR MANY YEARS IT WAS EMBARASSING AND TASTY BUT COMPLETELY OVERPRICED FOR THE DOVER SOLE AND WE HAD BEEN GIVEN THE TINIEST PLATES TO EAT OFF OF THAT THE SIDE DISHES DIDN'T HAVE ROOM TO BE PLACE UPON. THERE WERE ABOUT 20 THINGS THAT WERE WRONG INCLUDING AMNESIA BY THE ENTIRE SERVING STAFF WHO FROM START TO FINISH WERE JUST COMPLETELY OFF THEIR GAME. EVEN UPON LEAVING, WE WERE NEVER CHECKED IN PROPERLY AND TOLD THAT THE RESERVATION WAS A NO-SHOW ALBEIT WE HAD A GREAT TABLE UNDER THE RESERVATION. I HOPE IT WAS A ONE TIME THING DUE TO THE SERIOUS RAIN STORM WE HAD EARLIER IN THE DAY WITH TORNADOES, SCRAMBLING EVERYONE'S BRAINS. WILL GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY AND HOPE JG IS IN THE HOUSE TO ENSURE THE BEST SERVICE AND MEAL.
Pretty dining room and decent food. Fixed price menu makes it accessible. Service was ok but inconsistent
It was horrible experience. If I could give a zero I would. we went to NYC for my husband birthday, and I had a reservation for lunch at this restaurant on his birthday. It was 2days ago. I ordered a pasta for me and My husband ordered a lobster burger at that time, but My noodles were too hard and his burger tastes too fishy. Even his water cup was suddenly broken on his lip, as soon as he put the cup to his lips. he had to spit it out piece of glass. That was really dangerous for him. he didn't want to ruin our day tho, he just wanted to leave quickly. but No explanation was offered, still less an apology. I deeply regret what I went to this restaurant.
Foie gras was very creamy, buttery and tasty. I would recommend this dish but i was not sure about pineapple jam. The prosciutto wrapped pork chop was way too salty though the taste was good. However, there was no surprise to the taste. It was quite ordinary. I was expecting much more given the price. The service was amazing.
