When we arrived no one was there. We walked into the restaurant and it was dark with no one there to help us. It was obviously closed for the evening but, with it being in a hotel, apparently the front desk staff had no idea it was not open for dinner. Apparently no one paid attention to the fact that we had a reservation for that evening. They told us to sit and they would find the restaurant staff to serve us but we just left because who wants to eat at a completely empty restaurant that was obviously prepped for the next days breakfast?

Good place for a pre-concert meal. Interesting set-up for a hotel restaurant; but, it was a little like eating fine cuisine in a cafeteria setting. The food was worth the price, and the service was top-notch, but the rest of the experience was odd.

The food in this restaurant was tasteless and poorly prepared. I had a beet salad in which the beets were frozen - literally - and was served with a sweet raspberry dressing rather than the lemon dressing indicated - not a good combo. My husband, who very rarely complains about anything, thought his shrimp scampi was the worst he has ever had - no taste, no seasoning, no "sauce" of any kind. My short ribs were not "fall off the bone" but rather tough.

We picked this restaurant because of its proximity to the Kennedy Center. We will never go back.

When we arrived the waiter informed us their credit card machine was down so we’d need to pay with cash. Not a great welcome but glad he let us know up-front. Drinks arrived quickly but there was no ginger beer for a Moscow mule. Food was all very good, except for the desserts which were part of the theater menu - somewhat dry.

Upon arrival, we were informed by staff that the restaurant converted to cash-only for the evening (due to equipment failure). The statement left us stunned and unprepared. Since management had our reservation and contact details, we cannot understand why they elected not to advise us in advance.

Very good food and service. Experience marred somewhat by fact that the credit card machine was down. Fortunately we had cash, but some other prospective diners were turned away. In my experience most restaurants have or should have contingency plans for such situations. We were fans of Notti Bianchi which previously occupied this space; this restaurant is comparable but perhaps not quite at the same level. Very convenient to Kennedy Center.

Had a very good time at Notti 824. Food was very good and tasty. I like the extra attention. The chef came to the table to say hello and asked if we wanted our food tweaked, we should let him know. I had the risotto and requested that it be made spicy which he did. Overall the experience was good.
Restaurant was nice and quiet but we were the only one's there. I can't imagine how the noise level would be if it was packed. The picture of the restaurant online is a bit deceiving, it looks big but its a small space. it will be good to go back when its busy to get a more accurate view of the restaurant.

We had 6:30 reservations but arrived early at 6:15 and were seated right away. We let them know that we had theatre tickets for a show that started at 8:00. We didn't get menus or even water until 7:00. We had to flag the waitress down several times to take our order. We repeated that we had to leave in time for the show. Finally at 7:30 we walked out before our food arrived. Got a $6 turkey sandwich at the Kennedy Center.

The restaurant is the ideal location to The Kennedy Center, but we went on a Tuesday at 6:00pm and had show tickets for 7:30pm. We were late for the opening scene and had to watch from the monitor outside the seating area. With just one person waiting tables, we tried to order promptly and it still took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get our food. We scarfed it down so we could walk the 3/4 mile to the Kennedy Center and get there in time for the show. That said, what I tasted was very good & the atmosphere is quaint and warm.

We made a reservation for this place because it was near the Kennedy Center. We arrived 90 minutes before our show began, and there were two servers who appeared to be somewhat overwhelmed. After several minutes, they finally acknowledged my arrival and showed us to our reserved table. From there, without going into a detailed play-by-play, I will simply say that even though we alerted our server that we had 8pm tix , the service was slower than one would expect in the preshow hours from a restaurant that features a “theater menu.” When the food did finally come out, it was hot and delicious. And the saving gesture was that the chef came out of the kitchen and apologized, saying that the kitchen was somewhat backed up, and he hoped we enjoyed our dinner.

Perhaps they were unexpectedly short handed at the worst possible time; it happens. I’d recommend based on the food, and just suggest you add a little extra time as insurance.

It was quiet because THEY WERE NOT OPEN! I am very disappointed and upset. Don’t know if it was a problem with OpenTable having wrong info (the restaurant was closed even though OpenTable posted that it was open and OpenTable ACCEPTED THE RESERVATION and SENT ME A CONFIRMATION), or if the restaurant did not notify OpenTable that they are not open on Saturdays. Whatever the issue, we did not eat at Notti 824. Not sure where the responsibility is for this mishap, but I’m not sure I can trust OpenTable with reservations and I won’t be going to Notti 824 in the future.

Sat outside — which was billed online as “garden” but was actually a few tables along a driveway next to the smoking area. As such we were only people eating there on a gorgeous night so service was awful. Think they forgot about us.

Last November, we found Notti 824 through OpenTable as a good option for dinner before a show, close to the Kennedy Center. This August, we decided to revisit Notti 824 before a performance of Aladdin. We had plenty of time before the show (2 hours), and this visit took most of our time. The waitress was new, but we only inferred that later on. She barely communicated with us and never let us know she was new/in training. When we first arrived, we were the only table in the restaurant. Still, we had difficulty communicating with our waitress to have the food delivered properly. Half of the table received their entrees while the other half waited around; it was an absurdly long time before the other entrees arrived. Even though prompted, one guest's salad didn't arrive before her entree; she asked for it NOT to be delivered, and it was. We had to appeal to a manager to have it taken off of the bill. Getting her attention for refills of water was a challenge. It's a shame, because the location is prime for Kennedy Center goers, and the food is good... but the manager really should have stepped in and assisted after we had to get up multiple times to ask simple questions (refills on water? where's the salad? etc.). In the end, I ended up having to babysit our waitress through the check-creating process so we wouldn't miss our show. Her manager showed her how to use the system, but she couldn't figure it out. I jumped in and sorted out the various checks for her. She was shocked, "You know how to use this system?!" Sadly, no -- I watched her manager show her once and then was able to perform the task. I think next time we'll find a different restaurant to pair with our show experience.

The restaurant was not open. The front desk of the hotel where located said it is always closed on Sunday, but apparently they have not passed that information on to OpenTable. My poor review does not relate to the food or atmosphere or service, but to the fact that they should not have accepted the reservation and should at least have reviewed what what showing up before sending the e-mail on Saturday confirming that we were coming.

We had a party of four eating dinner on a Saturday night before a Kennedy Center Show. The location to the Kennedy Center is great. The restaurant is very nice and the recently renovated room is charming, but the AC wasn't working very well that night. And it was one of those really hot summer nights. We were warm.
The food was good but not exceptional. But the price is too high.
Shrimp with pasta was kind of bland; Salmon dish came without vegetables, which were advertised. Once we asked for them, they were delivered. But we had to ask.
Short ribs were fine. Buratta salad was the best thing we ate.
Overall it was okay. But for those prices, we expected better. Since it appears they cater mostly to a pre-theater crowd.... Reducing the price of the pre-theater menu and increasing the variety of offerings - would be a good place to start.

If you’re looking for a place near the Kennedy Center, this is the place to go. The chef is amazingly friendly and comes out and checked on everything. In so much as we could tell from our Two dishes, his take on traditional dishes taste lighter and less heavy. Given there is nothing else near the Kennedy Center, I have to inflate the review a bit but even aside from that it was good. The only thing I would say is don’t get the bread But otherwise, go and have a pretty darn good meal esp for Near the Kennedy Center.

The only reason I selected this restaurant was to be close to the Kennedy Center. I was very disappointed with the service and timing of food. The dining area needs to be updated. There are more choices in that area- wish we would had gone somewhere else.

Tucked into a hotel. This was a great find if you need a light meal after an early show at the Kennedy Center. We did a round of appetizers (They have a special section of the menu for light bites and appetizers) and some drinks after the quick walk over. Server was quite pleasant and helpful. Will definitely consider coming back when we want a little snack after a show. We had a reservation, but on a weeknight, I bet you don’t need one.

Only one waitress on duty, so service was slow. At least 20 minutes elapsed between placing drink order and receiving it. Noise level was so high that it was difficult for the four at our table to converse. When the food came it was good. Location is convenient to the Kennedy Center. Could be a neighborhood gem if the owners up their game.

I wish the best for Notti 824. It has all the potential in the world. Charming, convenient to TKC, lovely menu and priced right. But we hope they work on service. Both at the bar and the table service. Please train your staff the art of proper and timely service and communication. Don't get wrong, everyone was very nice polite and did their best. Just seems like inexperience, which will come with training and time. I don't want to discourage patronizing the restaurant. We did enjoy ourselves and the food was very good. Simply Notti 824 needs to train their service staff and once that is polished it can be a gem.

We were looking for a casual dinner prior to a Kennedy Center show and gave Notti 824 a try. It is small and almost hidden from view, but the food (we went with small plates) was pretty good, the service was good, and the price was reasonable. The chef came out twice to talk with us, which was quite nice, and our experience overall was quite positive. There is a small outdoor dining area, but very limited and with a less-than-desirable view.
