Join us for a sumptuous afternoon tea experience at NOTL Bar & Restaurant, located inside 124 on Queen Hotel and Spa. Enjoy a curated selection of world-class teas from Camellia Sinensis, paired with delicate finger sandwiches, house-made pastries, and freshly baked scones served with Greaves jam and traditional accompaniments. To elevate the experience, a glass of 13th Street Cuvée Rosé Sparkling is also included. Available Sundays only, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Beautifully decorated, lovely ambiance, & friendly staff. A few adjustments to your newly launched tea service would greatly improve the experience. I had included my allergies in the reservation along with the comment that we may prefer the afternoon tea without the sparkling rose’. Most afternoon tea menus offer the choice. Our server saw my allergies etc. on the reservation & brought the Rose’ automatically without clarifying our choice. 13th Street winery cuvée rose is quite delightful & you probably purchase cases at wholesale price. It is $26.96 per bottle retail. So to automatically add $16 to the afternoon tea price with one glass of rose is quite a jump. I asked our server: what if I brought a non drinking friend? She replied that they could have a mimosa. (which has alcohol!) “Bring the teapot to the kettle” is advised. Filling teapots with water, then delivering to the table with a strainer holding tea leaves for guests to steep on their own, wastes that crucial steeping temperature, & as a result our tea didn’t steep properly. Most afternoon teas include 4 sandwiches, 2 scones with jam & cream, & 3-4 desserts. The 3 sandwiches were generously filled, good size, & very fresh, & the smoked salmon melted in my mouth! All were on plain white bread, so a variety would be more visually appealing. There were 2 petite scones, 1 mini jam & 1 mini honey. I requested 2 more petite scones, so we could each have our own serving. The scones were dense in texture & over-baked. Scones require gentle handling, barely mixing, gently pressing, not rolling so flat, then chilling so when baked they can rise. I asked for butter, since there was no clotted cream on the tray. 2 jams would be preferred rather than the one honey. The fruit & mini macaron were pretty & delicious. The plain spice cake & yellow cake squares were fresh but not memorable. I had reserved to return later in the summer and upon reflection, I have cancelled that reservation.

Wonderful food! Had salad and filet and it was worth every penny. Husband had salmon and said it was good. Started off with lovely glass of prosecco and a relaxing, quiet ambience. Bartender made special request drinks for us that were amazing. If I lived here it would be my go-to restaurant for special occasions. Servers, staff, food, atmosphere…all top notch. Thank you!

What a lovely experience going to NOTL between shows. It got us away from the maddening crowds! There was a wedding in the courtyard, in progress when we arrived so the room was curtained off, but very intimate and comfortable. Katie, our server, was outstanding!! Very attentive, very friendly - she really made our experience stellar! The food was delicious. We shared the lobster dip with homemade chips - to die for! And we both had the burgers -equally scrumptious! Curtains were opened up after the wedding to reveal a spacious interior and courtyard with a fountain. I loved this restaurant and will be back!

Food is excellent but we were not seated where we requested. Open Table gave the option of “seated patio” which I clicked on. When we arrived we were informed that the patio was closed for an event. Instead we were seated indoors where the a/c was uncomfortably cranked up and so was the music. Our server said she was going to call to let us know but her shift had just begun. This is not the first time part of the restaurant has been closed for an event and we were shifted unceremoniously somewhere else.
