Love this place. Would go more often if I could. We had a reservation, so we were seated right away. Great table near the bar. Hostess and waitress were both friendly. We tried some of the seasonal drinks. Delicious! Also tried a new salad, the hoisin salmon recommended by our waitress. Very good. If my wife doesn’t get it next time, I will. As always, the bread and dip were great. Was hoping to have room for the peanutbutter thing, but we couldn’t do it. Next time!
Joe's seems to have a problem with timing salads and entrees.
Our last several visits, we have ordered salads to start, waited 25-30 minutes for the salad and had our entrees presented less than 2 minutes afterwards. The entrees were held for us, but not the ideal.
Given the price point for salads, the guest should have an opportunity to enjoy it without having to worry about the entrees the held.
The food itself was fine, the server was generally attentive and the place was busy as always.
We got seated during a very busy time. Wait staff was very apologetic for any delays and they gave us a free dessert for our patience. Outstanding customer service.
We are regulars, and we’re interested in the new Fit for You menu. My husband had the chicken and shrimp rice bowl, and liked it very much indeed. I tried the Knife and Fork burger with broccoli. It was delicious, although the avocado needed dressing, and ketchup should have come with the burger. My only real complaint is that beautiful lettuce was put on a warm plate, where it got soggy and unappealing. Greens on a plate warmer than room temperature is not okay. I asked for replacement greens on a cold plate.
Family visiting from out of the country
Friendly greeting at door and by wait staff. Not rushed to order. Ordered fish dinner and salad. Companion also ordered fish. Although the food wasn't spectacular, it was good. Price and portions reasonable. Not sure though, if regular and decaf was mixed up. Definitely will go again.
Not Your Average Joe's becomes Your Average Joe's as soon as the food is served. Service is good and ambience is good, unfortunately the food fails to deliver the same. Parts of my chicken dish were over cooked and parts of the same piece if chicken was cooked perfectly. The entire piece of chicken was bland and tasteless! The same comments came from my other guests about their meals.
If you're looking for quality, good tasting food, Joe's is not the place for you.
Our server was great! Our table was next to the server station. Many servers stood there complaining about their tips- found that very tasteless and inappropriate.
The waitress was not friendly - our drinks were wrong, after waiting 40 minutes she realized the meal was not able to not have chicken (I'm a vegan) had to wait longer for food. Wasn't helpful or knowledgeable about the menu since it was a new menu. I had to ask for a manager who offered complimentary desert.
It was a Great Mother’s Day by all!
The Mothers Day brunch was very disappointing. There were only 3 breakfast options and they were just okay, portions were very small and everything was overcooked. I ordered eggs benedict and I thought the eggs were tiny and the whites were completely separated from the hard overcooked yoke, literally a tablespoon of Hollandaise sauce. French toast was burnt on one side. on both orders at the table. Lucky it was Mothers Day, as my mother refused to let me send everything back. Very very disappointing. We go there a lot for dinner and drinks and never had an issue. But this was a disaster.
We went to NYAJ's on Mother's Day for brunch. The atmosphere is fun and lively and our service was great. We loved the "design your own Bloody Mary" option. The food was tasty, however it would be nice if they offered more brunch selections (I think there were only 3 or 4 options).
Overall it was a good experience. The service and food was good, however just a bit pricey for food that is really nothing special....I will be back.
If this was my first time here I probably would not come back. But, having been there several times before, I will simply assume that this was an off night. Several things did not go well. First, it took way too long for their very good bread basket to arrive. Our server apologized and said she was waiting for a new batch to come out of the over. Fine. It arrived and we enjoyed it. After another really long wait my salad finally arrived. It was not very good, and the croutons were as hard a bricks. That is not an exaggeration, but an accurate description. Finally, after another inexcusable delay, our dinners arrived. Our server explained that they had just opened the outside seating area and that is the reason for the delay. My wife ordered the scallops and made a point of requesting that they be prepared well done -- browned outside. They came out white and it was sent back. When her dinner was finally returned to her, the other three of us were already finished eating so she ate alone. She thinks, although I can not attest to it, that there were one or two fewer scallops on the returned plate. Perhaps, she thought, they simply discarded the couple that were totally white and reheated and re-served the remaining ones. That is speculation, but who knows? We never mentioned any of this to our lovely server as none of it was likely her fault.
Food was good service was very good. It was very good
This has definitely become our new favorite place to eat! Not only is the food ridiculously great, but our server Sarah is beyond AWESOME!!! If you haven’t eaten here yet, do yourself a favor and go! You won’t be disappointed!!
This was our third time to this particular establishment. It was the Saturday before Mother's Day and very busy. We were seated on time. The food tasted good but unfortunately it didn't come out hot. My piece of haddock was too small for the price I paid. The waitress was very polite and helpful. I would rate our prior visits to this restaurant 4 out of 5 stars. This most recent visit I would give a 3 out of 5 stars.
Server seemed to get frustrated with the fact that we had diet requirements due to allergies.
This was a business dinner and wasn't a great experience. We had reservation and we were seated right away.
We waited over 10 minutes for someone to come over and take our drink orders. He did acknowledge our wait and apologized.
When the food came two of the three orders were incorrect. I had ordered the mustard encrusted chicken with carrots instead of mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. It came out with mashed potatoes and green beans. Our guest ordered a burger and recieved a plant based burger which she questioned. Apologies were made and the burger was remade. The server attempted to scrape my potatoes off of my plate. I stopped her and asked that it be taken to the kitchen and replaced.
All in all a disappointing experience.
Great evening with girlfriends. I wish I could remember the name of our waiter because he was FABULOUS
Wonderful!! I've been to Not Your Average Joe's many times and I've enjoyed it EVERY time!
Service was fantastic - from reception to seating to an attentive and pleasant waiter. Food was good as always at Not Your Average Joe’s. The cook time was particularly fast for a busy Sunday.
Excellent service and consistently tasty food from a terrific menu offering options for everyone!
Food was excellent the service outstanding. The oil cheese and hot peppers for dipping were a cut above
We keep being disappointed by this restaurant. We dine with friends who live nearby and one thing or another is always a problem. On this night it was the server. We had a party of 6 and as soon as we didn't order any alcohol she lost interest. We had to flag her down to place our order, we asked for butter instead of the olive oil and had to ask 3 different times, had to again flag her down to get water refilled and then she only refilled one, not the other 5.
I don't think we are going to give them any more chances to get it right.
Kaye was our server and she was fantastic! Very friendly and personable. She answered our questions about some of the items on the menu which helped make our decision on what we ordered.
The Impossible burger is amazing and the jumbolaya was great! My husband loved the new presentation of the jumbolaya.
NYAJ Westwood is one of our favorite places- we will most certainly be back soon!
The food was so good. I went for my birthday with my mom and we really enjoyed it. I went back again the next day for taco Tuesday and the tacos are unbelievable. The shrimp taco was my favorite
My fiance and I were in Joe's on Sunday for a celebatory lunch. The hostesses seemed a little frazzled when and unsure of themsleves, especially when I asked if we could have a particular booth. I had made a reservation for us and noticed that the family who had come in prior to us no reservtion was given preference. Even with that we were fine with the booth accomodation in the energetic bar area. Our server Caleigh B was amazing and we couldn't rave more about her. I orderd the seafood pasta with lobster sauce and to my dismay there was an eyelash on one of my scallops, Caleigh quickly removed the plate and aplogized profusely. Zach the manager came over to address the issue with first the hostess desk and now the food. He was equally amazing. Once the new meal came out, it unfortunately was bland in taste and the pasta was overcooked. They offered to get me something else but it was fine. Joe's is a place we love and go to a lot and despite Sunday's happenings we will continue to go there and we thank Zack and Caleigh for making it so.
Waitress was great. Fast service. Everything in a timely fashion. Great food.
Service was excellent, waitress was pleasant, very informative and her service was great.
I enjoy the restaurant very much, food, service, and atmosphere.
Restaurant floor was filthy
Bar staff could not be less welcoming
Not one staff member was smiling
Food was average
Windows were dirty
NYAJ is a great "go to" restaurant. the food is consistently good and well priced. The bread and olive oil dip is the best anywhere I have been. The energy is upbeat and busy and yet no rush whatsoever to finish your meal and move on. Reservations are easy to make through the website paired with Open Table.
Fabulous, as always!
As usual, Sarah went the extra mile! Best server ever!!!
The waiter was great! Food was great as well. Love the decor and that you can use Open Table to make a reservation. We will be back. Thank you!
Never had a bad meal or experience here, we love it!
I have noticed that when I make an open table reservation, we are seated at the last booth closer to the kitchen even though the place is 75% empty. This has happened the last 2 visits. Next time I’m going to request a banquette in advance to see what happens
I have been to NYAJ many times so I know what to expect. Our sevice person this time was very distracted' She was hurrying around, putting the food on the table and then rushing off. She did not clear the table of used dishes and glasses before dessert or clean the table. Usually the service staff is very attentive no matter how busy. Maybe she was new. A little disappointing.
Great service close to hotel great food
Lots of menu choices, pleasant service, and east parking. We’ll return
