Quiet and nice server and good food
Great service, a bit loud, prices a tad high, but overall, pretty good. Glad I had a reservation.
Visited to enjoy the Octoberfest menu. Unfortunately, they were out of the featured beer and featured appetizer. They usually serve an amazing bread, but that too was not great, cold and a bit stale. The sauerbraten was ok, but the sauce was bland. We normally love this restaurant, but they were off their game during this visit.
I have a severe gluten allergy and so in past years I have always enjoyed NYAJ as they took the Gluten allergy seriously - today I met a friend there for lunch and I was so disappointed - the service was really awful with our server acting as if he really didn’t care what we wanted or if we were there at all! If that wasn’t bad enough - I ordered a GF sandwich- half way through I started to get sick as this clearly was NOT Gluten Free - this used to be one of my reliable go -to’s . Based on my experience today - I will never return!!
Their food and service is always really good. It can get a little loud if you sit near the bar.
Love this place for business meal entertaining...
I always have a wonderful experience at Joes in Reston.
The food is fantastic, the staff always goes the extra mile to make your experience amazing!
I highly recommend NYAJ!
We really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio because it was a beautiful day. Our food was delish. My friend had the Hoison Salmon and I the quinoa bowl. Of course, once again, the bread & dipping oil made the meal!!
However, we were very disappointed with our server. Not only did he seem disinterested in us & his job but barely spoke a word to us. I can’t say he was totally inattentive because he did refill our drinks & bread basket but, we felt as if he just didn’t care.
The last few times I have been here the service was great & I had even commented to my husband about it, perhaps that is why today’s service was such a disappointment.
Vegetable Bolognese...omg so good!
Second time I’ve booked a table for 10 for a conference dinner. Second time everything went off without a hitch. Meals arrived correct and at the same time. Requests for separate checks were treated like it was no problem. If you’re booking for a large business group, this is an excellent choice.
They took my celiac/extreme gluten free needs very seriously. The meal was great, service was fantastic, and I even got gluten free rolls before dinner!!! Will definitely be back.
My mom and I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Jeff. He was really kind, with excellent customer service. I so appreciate the gluten free menu with the flexibility to substitute. Our server was also excellent! And the food was delicious. We will be back!
It was ok. Chicken Caesar was small, not much chicken. Noticed later the guy at the table next to me got the same
Salad and had double the amount of chicken. Shows
Poor quality control. Server was rushing us out.
Can’t recommend for dining. Complaints include buffet items that should have been warm were cold, dirty dishes stacked with clean, serving platters not kept up with - one or two items left on platters, freezing indoor temperature to name a few. Didn’t care for music.
Best tomato soup ever. Good meal all around.
Impossible burger ordered and to be brutally honest, impossible burger at Burger King is better presented and overall has better taste and better value for money. The burger here was small and shabbily fixed.
Also ordered iced tea and not offered any refills.
Defined not recommending this to any of my friends or family.
Love the bread. The service is consistently good.
Tried out the new brunch menu. A varied selection of breakfast and lunch items including a carving station. There was also a limited standard lunch menu for those who did not want a large brunch. Severs were outstanding, attentive and going out of the way to accommodate special requests. I chose a salad, but will definitely go back tp ty the brunch items, which looked fresh and had beautiful presentation.
Consistently excellent menu. Service is stellar. Now our favorite place to go when we out in Reston.
Wide range of food and drink options. Reasonable prices. Waiter did a good job of attentiveness without hovering too much. Did take a bit of time to get beers served (and since we were sitting in the bar area, that was annoying). We had a reservation for two, but the hostess just walked us into the bar area to a table there, without explaining if there was a wait for tables in the main dining area or even asking what our preference was. Didn't bug us too much, but we expected to at least be asked.
The service was attentive and the food was plentiful and good - the only complaint is that the server brought our main course while we were still eating our appetizer. The coffees and raspberry desert were outstanding.
This was the first day of their Sunday brunch. We loved it! Service was fantastic.
We went for the new Sunday brunch and the food was excellent. Service was good and noise level was acceptable. Would recommend to others for a nice relaxing and delicious brunch.
Friendly service. Good food. We went for breakfast on Sunday only to find it was their VERY FIRST buffet brunch incl 1 mimosa or 1 bloody mary. We were excited. Management was excited. Patrons seemed to enjoy it! 4 options for eggs including build your own omelet, sweets including French toast, savory meats including carved beef, and finally, lunch options including salads, salmon and pasta. Great experience! Congratulations Management, you all nailed it.
Service was good but my order of the “knife and fork burger from the new “fit fit for you menu was surprisingly small. While the taste was ok, the portions were what I would have expected from a kids nenu
I had been here several times before and it was average. This time, however, it was below average. My daughter ordered a bloody Mary for $10 and it was watered down with no taste. My little granddaughter ordered the kids mac & cheese and there was something hard and black in it. There was also something in the side salad with my daughter’s sandwich. My grandson got the kids cheeseburger and the 1/2 of the bun was toasted till it was black. My barbecue chicken flatbread was good but for a $70 lunch, it was not worth it at all. Service was minimal at best.
Nice family dinner but a little
Amazon was hosting a happy hour which made the entire restaurant incredibly loud.
We had a reservation for 5:30 on a weekday and were seated promptly. Our server, Caesar, was attentive, helpful, efficient and fun. Three adults and two children all enjoyed their meals. Good food at a reasonable price. Fast and friendly service. Will be back again.
The shine has worn off on this restaurant. Was once a favorite, will not be returning.
Excellent waiter! Nice restaurant!
Food was excellent as always.
The food was pretty bland and the service was a confused waiter. Oh well. The bread and dipping oil are yummy
After more than a week, I'm still a little angry about this meal. We don't get a chance to go out often and this was a disappointment. Here's why:
1) The restaurant was mostly empty but the hostess put us at a table where my wife's chair was in the walk-way. During the meal, she was frequently scooting her chair in so as stay out of the way of people passing behind her.
2) Again, although the place had lots of empty tables and booths, they seated us right next to the table with two screaming kids. I know, kids are kids and parents deserve a night out -- I get that. My complaint here is not about the kids or the parents but instead that the staff crowded us in next to this scream fest instead putting us at one of the many available tables elsewhere in the restaurant.
3) Ordered a medium burger, got bleeding rare.
4) Water glass so full of ice that there was no room for water. Waitress gave me on refill but for the rest of the meal I was waiting on ice cubes to melt.
Any one of these could have been ignored for the sake of having a nice night out with the wife. Taken all together, it just seems to me like this place has not yet caught on to the idea of taking care of customers.
They gave us dinner portions without asking
Food was not seasoned well at all (all 3 meals and the appetizer)
Service was otherwise good: waiter was attentive and friendly
Amazing waiter, it’s a shame I can’t remember his name.
Food was great as usual.
Usually we have a great experience at NYAJ but this time we were disappointed. A few issues - asked for bread and they didn’t bring it, asked for a different salad dressing than what was on the menu and they didn’t put it on. Servers never came back to check to make sure everything was okay so I didn’t have an opportunity to change it.
Good food but service was not great.
Consistently good food. Love the bread served with the meal.
Great time with my daughters before they head back to school. Great food and service as always.
Great service & food was good.
