We had a party of seven, including a child. Our waitress was fantastic and accommodating, the menu had a great variety for our varying tastes.
I got the special , rib stroganoff... it was tasteless... I only took 2 bites, cariiibean chicken was ordered as appetizers but also as 2 meals and some of the chicken was not cooked properly on the meal serving for one person, server was slow on refilling drinks and we had a long wait to get the bill to be paid... we had a reservation for 8 and we were still short on 2 silverware sets and 2 bread plates .. we got the silverware ourselves off another table and asked a different server for 2 more plates.. it was a birthday lunch so overall disappointing how it was food and service. The only part thoroughly enjoyed was the bread and oil dip
The Food and Service was Amazing !!
Our server was attentive and caring was spot on with good and drink recommendations.
Thanks to our reservation we were seated immediately. Our waiter, Mason, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed a delicious meal for a good price.
First time but not our last! Everything was delicious. Started with the crab cakes and things got even better from there. Make sure you get dessert even if it’s to go!!!
I just wish we were not sitting in the bar area as it was too noisy and we had not seen each other in a while. It was hard to talk.
As the name implies- Above average. Typical casual dining experience. They appear to have a crowd of young professional regulars who meet at the bar after work on Fridays, but it was still fine to bring my 6th grade daughter for her birthday for dinner in the dining room.
Avery is an excellent waiter
Delicious dinner for a grouo
After not having visited NYAJ for about a year, my wife and I returned for lunch at the bar and half priced bottles of wine on Wednesday. The food was excellent with more healthy-choice dishes available than previously offered. The highlight of our visit however was bartender Rihanna who was polite, professional and attentive. She really "gets it" when it comes to hospitality. We'll definitely return in the near future.
My second visit and equally pleased. I had never heard of the place before going last time and was pleasantly surprised. Clearly I haven't tried more than a handful of things on the menu, but everything has been spectacular thus far. Warning: It's very hard to stop eating their bread and oil dip, but you should save room for an entree !
There is nothing that beats the oil/cheese blend dip for the bread - I could make a meal out of it!!! I love the Asian Chicken Noodle Salad and it is so BIG that I had enough for dinner that night. It's definitely something you should try. I always enjoy my lunch when I come to Joe's.
Wide variety on the menu and all meals were very good.
Only complaint is we had a party of 6; with a reservation. And, they crammed us at a table that really was suited for 4. With appetizers, drinks and our meals, it was uncomfortable.
My salad was perfect and my guest raved about the grilled salmon and pesto. Our waitress was amazing...friendly and very efficient.
Regular diner, but first time trying the brunch buffet. Not up to the standard I expected.
Also had a problem using my Appreciation Card. However, the Manager on duty (Matt) went above and beyond in resolving the issue. Will continue to be a regular diner, but will not do the buffet brunch again.
The food was tasty. Service was a little slow. I ordered the Ahi tuna salad, but apparently there are two Ahi tuna salads on the menu, both with the same name (?!) and my waiter brought me the one I did not want. He did not come back to check on us, so I ended up eating it anyway. Initially, my wife asked for nutrition info but was told there was no such information available. Nevertheless, she found it a few minutes later on the restaurant website using her smartphone. As with most restaurants, much of the food has a ridiculous amount of sodium and often way more sugar than is necessary. We went because it was one of only a couple of nearby restaurants that had a table available. It was OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.
Good food and well priced for the experience. This was our second visit.
We had a great time! Food was delish and service was great.
We had a reservation for 10 people. Lost 3 people at the last minute and they were VERY understanding. Our waiter John was a wonderful addition to our family get together. He made us feel welcome, was informative and made every effort to keep us all happy.
The food was amazing as always
Cannot recommend NYAJ enough.
Hostess was so rude it really ruined the evening. She ignored us as we waited at the host stand then wanted us to sit at a table unfit for he size of our party. She was standoffish when we complained and left us standing in the middle of the restaurant as she stormed off. The Manager, as opposed to apologizing, seemed to feel the need to defend his rude hostess and didn’t care about his customer. Waiter was fantastic, but food was mediocre. Fish and chips was light on fish, chicken parm was not good, and onion soup was Luke warm. Just not the type of experience you would expect for the price.
Great food, fabulous service. Open Table made it super easy to get a table and have an enjoyable meal. Highly recommend the scallops and risotto. Amazing dish.
The bread is super moist and tasty!! Don't turn it down when they offer it!
Can be a bit noisy, but not enough to distract from our dinner or interfere with our conversation.
Waiter was an excellent server; never had to ask for a thing, he knew.
Table location was great.
One prime rib was dry and had to be sent back for another, but this was not a problem. In fact, manager gave us 2 desserts to compensate for our trouble.
Parking lot, location and menu all wonderful and easy dining experience.
We made a reservation a week in advice for Xmas eve dinner for 7 people at 4.30pm. We arrived to a very quiet restaurant and were seated next to the bathrooms and a drafty corridor. We asked to move to another table which seemed like a reasonable request to us and our server, however we were informed by the manager that his table arrangements for the busy evening were “strategic” and that he could do nothing to make us more comfortable. He was arrogant and dismissive and didn’t check in with us at any other time during our meal. We understood that it was a busy, high stress work situation for him but he did nothing to make us want to return to his restaurant again.
NYAJ really made our family dinner on Christmas Eve special!! Great food and service!
Sara was a wonderful waiter, thanks for a fun lunch!
Went back just to have the ahi tuna wontons.....they were particularly good this time!
We love NYA Joes and decided to try a new location. This visit was not as pleasant. My husbands meal was put in as something else. Our guests and my meal arrived on time. He had to wait. My husband had the Chicken Broccoli with Penne pasta. It was extremely spicy too spicy to be pleasurable. He enjoys spicy so do I but this killed the taste buds. Our friend ordered the jambalaya and it lacked spice and flavor. Even the dessert was not our usual treat. When we ordered dessert the waitress walked away without taking his order or coffee. We had to stop her from leaving. It was a sad experience for a Pre-Christmas get together with friends. Not busy either. So we have no idea what to make of it. Wish I could give all five stars. Like I said we will stick to our normal location.
They easily accommodated our group of 12 and the Sunday Brunch was great!
Good all around.
Great spot for those w food allergies. Very accommodating.
Great food and service!
Attentive service, great food.
Very noisy place but the food was good. Not fancy but portions were large.
We chose the brunch buffet and were impressed with the selection, later disappointed when the food was cold from several of the serving dishes. The eggs to order station was a nice feature and eggs were good. We told our server that the food was cold and then she said brought it to the managers attention. She mentioned that they “had that problem last week.” That was pretty much the end of it. We like NYAJ but will pass on any buffet in the future.
Its always very noisy here
We were a large group and there were several stuff ups from the kitchen.....forgotten appetizers, missing entrees.
But our server tried to efficiently rectify matters and Raul, the manager, was excellent with his attention as soon as he was alerted to the problem.
He made things right, coming out with said missing items to apologise again each time and comped the food.
Mistakes happen, especially when it is busy and we could not have asked for a fairer solution.
The food and drinks, are, as always very good, which, keeps us coming back.
So thanks Raul, that blip in the evening did not spoil it for us.
We got there early enough, before the rush, and we had a nice relaxing lunch. Thank you!
The haddock is very bland! Others in my party enjoyed their meal.
The timing of our meal was just bad and disappointing. Drinks took a long time and appetizer came out a full 5 minutes after our main course. Manager walked by our table 3-4 times and not once asked how our meal was, but had ample time to check the football game scores. If the goal is to be “average”, then job well done. There are plenty of other choices to eat in RTC, so probably going to be long time before we try again.
