The food was fabulous. Our waitress awesome. I have had some mediocre meals here but not this time, it was great!
The service was excellent but the food was average. The room was really cold, too much a/c!
Food was good, it just want as we ordered so we sent it back. Other than that it was spot on and half price bottle of wine Wednesday’s is awesome. We will be back many times. We went to On the Border on a Friday night and the place was a third as busy as NYAJ was on a Wednesday. It’s clear the people love this place!
Terrific service!!! I’ve really noticed the difference. A BIG THUMBS UP!!
We sat down and ordered our cocktails. Three of us ordered a cucumber themed drink and one a standard Cocktail. We told the waiter we would wait for our drinks before ordering anything else. After about 5 minutes the waiter brought us waters and asked if we were ready to order. We said we would order an appetizer and he went to place the order. About 3 minutes later we got the appetizer but still no drinks. We told the server and she said they should be out shortly. Another 5+ minutes passed and out came the drinks. The cucumber cocktail came adorned with a wedge of ZUCCHINI. The recipients of the drink said it tasted nothing like cucumber and the waiter said they ran out of cucumbers. Since at this point we were pressed for time to get to a show they decided to just to drink it and move on. One of us ordered the Mona Lisa which was fried chicken salad that was supposed to include strawberries and pecans neither of which were in the meal. Again pressed for time they ate and enjoyed the chicken but was disappointed they it was not as advertised. The restaurant was not busy and this experience as unsatisfactory.
Had another good meal here. This time I tried the jambalaya served over rice. It was the right level of spicy but not too spicy. My friend tried the salmon over a Vietnamese soup and liked it. We split a carrot cake that was moist and flavorful. Best though is the home baked bread with a scrumptious olive oil, cheese, and garlic dipping sauce. It is that sauce that keeps me going back to this restaurant. YUM!!!
The service was slow. We needed the manager to help bring food, water, bread, twice. The Impossible Burger had an “impossible” price of $18... While tasty, the restaurant could have provided more condiments, sides, etc.
Excellent service and a great selection of ala carte. My wife loved the gluten-free choices especially the bread appetizer. We’ve eaten at this franchise restaurant in other cities but this is the best.
Food us reliably good. Bread is so fresh and flavorful.
Good service, fund atmosphere (we went for World Cup). Their brunch menu is limited to a few items. Joe's is good for an easy night or day outing without a lot of fan fare.
We had a wonderful meal and the service was friendly and attentive. food was terrific as always.
Went there for dinner an July 4th, which is kind of an odd night. Our server, Zoe, was attentive and charming, the manager came over to our table to make us feel welcome, and another server came over to remark that we were going to absolutely love our ahi tuna appetizer (which we did). Our lobster rolls were amazing and totally worth it (my husband is from Boston and is appreciative of a good lobster roll). A home run on all counts!
The food has definitely changed here at Joe's. The bread which used to be awesome was either undercooked or the changed the way they make it. it had less onion on it and it wasn't crispy.
The waiter over poured the oil into the dry mix and we had to get a new one.
The food that we were used is also different. the Jambalaya used to come in a bowl over rice, now it comes on a plate with rice plopped in the middle... The veggie burger was also different.
The reason my team liked nyajoes was that everyone could find something to eat. This has changed. We started to notice the change in food quality late last year [burning the nacho's] and it seems to have continued to go down from there..
Lastly, the waiter did not bring my appetizer until the main course and by then what was the point.
I will try it again this fall and will decide if I will continue to be a patron.
We had a great time! We were celebrating Ashley's 17th birthday and the staff was great about everything. It is one of our favorite places to eat!
I eat here all of the time and I’m not sure why. Probably because it’s convenient. The food is ok. Not worth the amount of money that you spend for a meal. Both food and service are inconsistent. My last meal came out cold which was disappointing. The bar and drinks are the only thing that does seem to be consistently good.
One of the best casual restaurants in Reston. I live very close so I go there often. I would highly recommend it.
The waiter was so nice and the experience was great
This was our second time at Not Your Average Joe’s & it is officially one of our go-to spots now! The food is amazing, but the wait staff is even more amazing! I can’t put it into words, it’s just a warm fuzzy feeling you get. It’s like Cheers!
Service from our particular waiter was sub-par. Otherwise, I would go back.
Avery is fantastic.
Great server and atmosphere
Chose this place to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The service was very good but other than that - I wasn’t that impressed. Maybe it wasn’t the best choice for a family dinning out. It’d be more suitable for a happy hour gathering.
The noise level was very high. There was no kids coloring sheets or anything much to keep the kids occupied.
The menu looked really good but when the food arrived - they’re mostly mediocre ie mainly salty. My salmon salad was pretty much a bit piece of salmon slapped on a big pile of vegetables. The soup came out cold but our server was nice enough to get a new warmer bowl for us. My husband’s chicken was very greasy:/ however - the kids fries was good.
Great location with outdoor seating options but otherwise - I am sorry to feel that it is quite an average restaurant.
When meeting collogues for business meeting we should of ask to be place away from main dining. Food selection was outstanding as we had 2 vegan and it make it nice to have a variety in the menu.
I ordered the shrimp cocktail. The size of the shrimp was microscopic and they were floating in water instead of ice.... NOT COOL!
Brian our server did an excellent job and our food was wonderful
Father's Day meal was excellent. We were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. The bread was outstanding also!
My family (a party of 8) met here for Father's Day lunch. Despite the holiday and corresponding crowd, the service and food were both excellent and everyone walked away happy (a rarity in this family!). We will definitely return to Not Your Average Joe's in Reston.
Service was great (party of 8). Everyone said they enjoyed the food.
Birthday dinner. Very great, attentive service. Server suggested best hits including the specials. Food, drinks were delicious and timely.
We had a reservation for a party of 11 to celebrate Father’s Day. We were seated right away, and our server was very helpful. Our experience was very pleasant. The food was good and came to the table without any issues..which can happen with a party as large as ours. I am vegetarian, so menu choices are often limited. I was pleasantly surprised to see a handful of options-including the impossible burger. We will definitely visit again in the near future.
Had a good time! Only comment is on the ahi tuna salad. The tuna had a different taste then I’m used to due to the seasoning. Other than that fantastic!!!
We used to love this restaurant. This time, gluten-free bread had changed and was not nearly as good as previously. And it was brought out as one whole roll, rather than cut in pieces for dipping. Someone in our party of 5 got rice that was not hot and had to be replaced. Another ordered shrimp scampi and got fried shrimp instead. Waiter did not return to the table after serving to see if all was OK. Probably will not return to this restaurant!
We enjoyed the Father’s Day menu.
I have gone here since it first opened. Have always enjoyed the fact that will take into consideration your dietary needs. The dish I ordered was different than I thought it would be. I would have liked more noodles. For dessert I had the Sorbet. I have had this many times. This was the first time there were ice crystals in it, never had that before.
There is a group I come with of 5-10 people about once a year. They love the food and we always go here. The service is excellent.
Our Server Mason was amazing with our 9 month old, truly wonderful experience
Food was too salty
Food was great, and the family had a great time.
Great brunch! Love their food and ability to adapt to different food sensitivities and diets.
Perfect menu for people with varying likes and dislikes. Everyone in our group of 7 found something they enjoyed.
