We used to love going to NYAJ in Reston. It was always good food and great service. Over the last 2 years, the food quality has gone down and the prices are going up ( as they are everywhere). When we got there, it was a Sunday and there were maybe 4 other tables besides us. The service was fine but I ordered the avocado toast and the arugula on top was limp and looked like it had been either left out or a little older. It was not wilted but limp. The egg on my meal was supposed to be over easy but was clearly undercooked as there was clear egg white around the yoke. Based on this and the higher prices, its not a great choice for us anymore.

I come here often enough when I'm looking a solid restaurant, good location and free/easy parking, reliable service, nice cocktail options, with a regular and seasonal menu that accommodates most of my friends' varied dietary needs (GF, vegetarian, pescatarian, etc.). It does not disappoint. We had a painkiller and a watermelon cucumber margarita as our cocktail options. Both are very good. My margarita had a little too much ice and not enough drink IMO, and when I ask for a salted rim can you salt the whole thing rather than one square inch of it? They give you delicious focaccia bread over a cheese/red pepper flaked dipping oil that's to die for. Be careful because it's so easy to fill up on it, it's so addictive! We tried the whipped feta appetizer. Recommend that you get it for the table to split because it's definitely on the large side. Didn't care for the "sesame crisps", but the cucumber slices and pita bread paired well with the whipped feta, and the garbanzo bean topping was tasty. We had two of the newly unveiled Oktoberfest options--pork Schnitzel with red cabbage and potato pancake for me; drunken bratwurst over mashed potatoes for my friend. The schnitzel dish looked lovely, but it honestly lacked any kind of flavor... not the potato pancake, and not the schnitzel breading or meat. The best part about it was the red cabbage in my opinion (I'm a fan.) Service was prompt, and we had no problems getting a table at 5:45 PM on a Thursday. By the time we left at 7 PM, it had started to get busier; so if you have a large party, or you just don't like to wait long for your food, go on the earlier side of the dinner shift.

This is a pleasant spacious restaurant. Not very busy for Friday lunch. The food was reasonably priced. Most of our group enjoyed their salads but agreed that the chicken was over cooked.

Not Your Average Joe's turned out to be average at best. The chicken on the Greek salad was so dry it was inedible. The focaccia bread is delicious as is the garlic cheese spread and the slaw that came with the cauliflower appetizer was excellent. Everything else was mediocre at best.

Our waiter Max was absolutely awesome. He was very good about checking with the kitchen for any of my questions regarding my gluten sensitivity. Very funny. Excellent service. The food was solid, but a bit pricey in my opinion. Overall though, we had a great time!

Took my son out to dinner here as this is a favorite local place of his. Food was good and portions were generous. Our server Jaron was excellent, providing caring and very attentive service. Parking is easy and plentiful. If you would like a nice casual place, consider dining here.

We had an enjoyable time. Our waiter, Max, was attentive and fun. The food was excellent. We all had an appetizer that we shared which was great. Each member of our party ordered something different and all of us enjoyed our meal. The restaurant was not crowded and we had a very enjoyable evening,

My grandson and I had brunch there, and were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food. Our server, Cesar, was extremely attentive to our needs, and gave us the appropriate amount of time between courses. The next time we go, we will be there for lunch.

Taking advantage of a birthday coupon. We've had excellent past experiences here. I wished the beer menu was a little more exciting as I'm not interested in drinking the same ol' beers you can find anywhere else. Of the list, I was able to find just one I hadn't tried yet. My my entree was excellent but the side salad could have used some elevation. The kiddies were excited for the hot dog menu but due to a food allergy, they had to pass. We wished the hot dogs were all beef. The wifey said her meal tasted amazing but it had WAY too much sauce in it. In the end, we were shocked at the overall price. Yikes, things have really gotten expensive. It'll be a while before we return.

Here for a Diva Vacation’s breakfast/brunch at noon! Food was excellent! Service was amazingly EXCELLENT by Ryan who was very pleasing to the eye! Mason the bartender was stupendous with the drinks and again very pleasing to our old eyes! LOL! All in fun! They were very nice and we are so glad we chose this place! We 5 Ladies 50 and older are one aunt happy, full, and tingly from the drinks! Lllol!

This was our third visit to Not Your Average Joe’s and it will be the last. The restaurant was frigid, even after we were moved to a “warmer” place. Consequently, the food was cold before the first bite. Furthermore, the menu has changed, eliminating the very delicious Impossible Burger which I had enjoyed on earlier visits. Our waiter was excellent…not his fault that we won’t return.

Have eaten here before and it was better. Probably should of gotten a burger or salad. Server forgot about us after serving us our drinks. Got the Fish and chips and it was pretty bland. Cocktails weren't as good as usual either. Think we caught them on a bad day. Too bad it was Fathers Day.

Our server was very pleasant and responsive. My jambalaya was very good but would have been excellent had it been hot (in temperature). Others at the table were also very pleased with their food selections. Overall, dining at Not Your Average Joes was enjoyable and satisfying in all aspects.

The server didn't pay attention to details of order including allergies. Things were missing. No longer give gf bread must pay fir inferior microwaved gf rolls that were rubbery. No longer offer to make gf fries as in past. Prices very high for quality. Not the Joe's it used to be. Will not be returning.
