North Italia - Washington DC
We loved our experience!
Food, drinks and service was great!
One of the best Cacio de Pepe pizzas I’ve ever had. Service was a little spotty but the manager in the black jumpsuit was on top of it!
Amazing food . The server was the kindest attentive and available . Thanks North ... I will be back
Sat outside and enjoyed dinner with friends. Great service.
The food was terrific! Definitely taste the freshness in everything.
The cocktails were a little watery. My date liked her drinks she had both margaritas.
Definitely will go back again
Great spot for awesome Italian food. Everything always tastes so good. Will definitely be back.
Service and food were fantastic. I will be back many times.
Great food and excellent service
Family dinner with our small children. The food was amazing and the service was very good. Great casual atmosphere and family friendly.
Our experience at North Italia was great! The meatball appetizer and garlic bread were really good. We got the bolognese and the burrata ravioli. Overall everything tasted good, but both pastas were somewhat undercooked and the ravioli could have used more seasoning/salt. Our server was great!
If you haven’t tried this restaurant it’s a must. Creative menu, always good food and great service. It’s often my go to place to go with friends.
Always great at North!
We had a wonderful dinner with exceptional service! The host and manager gave us the nicest greeting and made us feel very welcome . Unfortunately we had got stuck in bad traffic arriving from out of town and we called the restaurant to let them know and they were able to accommodate us and were kind and courteous! The meals were delicious..... calamari, grilled bread with garlic burrata, scallops, chicken parm, squid ink pasta and kids homemade spaghetti and meatballs were all delicious!!!
Great cocktails too! Bell Leone and Sangria!
Great Covid protocols and you can tell staff is doing an A+ job. They had a very large and comfortable patio with heaters, I'd try that next time.
We will definitely go back next time were in the area.
I picked North Italia on a whim for an early dinner and what a wonderful find! From the moment I walked in until I walked out, it was a stellar experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, yet chic. The open kitchen is a bonus. The menu isn’t extensive like you find in overly enthusiastic Italian restaurants. They focus on a few things and make them seasonally. Our waitress, Fiona, was lovely! Attentive and knowledgeable, it felt like I was her only table. In fact, the entire staff was the same, several stopped by the table to check on me.
However, the food is really the star here. Well thought out, well seasoned dishes that make your lips curl into THAT smile. Every thing I tasted was spot on - Braised short rib that cuts like butter nestled upon the most luscious mascarpone polenta, perfectly golden arancini bursting with cheesy goodness, and the lightly powdered puffs of bombolini in a puddle of tart lemon curd and vanilla mascarpone is a sensory overload not to be missed.
We loved everything about our dinner in North Italia
While it did take 20 minutes before we were serviced by our waiter, the food and service thereafter was excellent. Definitely would visit again. It would be nice to be reminded that the drinks are at cost per glass. That was a small surprise that I didn’t expect nor was I privy to.
We had brunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The service was exceptional, the food was very good. We will be adding it to our list of regular eating out options.
I am a regular for dinner here but I didn’t know they served breakfast. Pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was great, the service was excellent and this is my new go to for breakfast in West End. No crowd. Surprised that there weren’t a lot of people here during breakfast but I was glad. The breakfast is very good and portion is perfect. Highly recommend. Had coffee and the American breakfast.
It was a birthday celebration as I noted in my Open Table celebration. That was seemed a low priority with the restaurant. The celebrant's order of their Spring special ravioli was served to her "cold". It was taken back to have it re-done but by the time we got it back, we were almost done with our meals. We have to get that dish to go. The food was good but not anything I'd say that we're super excited to return soon. The restaurant's ambiance was very casual. Our wait staff was attentive and pleasant.
Best dc happy hour ever! I am from AZ where North originated so was already a big fan but love seeing the great deals also in dc now. We got the board and bottle of wine plus a side of bruschetta and it was so inexpensive and delicious! I’ll definitely be back.
We met friends tonight and every safely protocol was in place. The food was wonderful!
Food was soooo good. Wish I took pictures. The chicken pesto pasta was my favorite. That and the white truffle garlic bread. Me and my friend ate so much of the bread we couldn’t finish our pasta! Then we had the hazelnut torta for dinner. That was the best part!
Nice ambiance. Service was okay. Our server was clearly behind. But it’s all good. Over all good experience. Definitely recommend.
There was nobody in the restaurant yet it took waiteres and hour to bring salad and Two pizzas. Not recommend at all:(
My party cannot stop raving about how good the pasta dishes were. Branzino was excellent.
Comida fría el servicio lento muy lento hasta para llevar el café a la mesa y sobre la comida esperaba más
Nice vibe. Great fish, good service
This is officially my favorite happy hour in dc!!
Food Is delicious normally always but on happy hour it’s slightly less expensive so great value!
The drink deals are great too! Large sangria pitchers!! So tasty!
Excellent service too- they actually check on you and come back before happy hour ends which a lot of places don’t!
Highly recommend! It’s until 7pm also which is AMAZING since most only until 6pm & it’s hard for my friends and I to make 6pm after work!
Felt like a family pizzeria, cocktails were half filled, foods were greasy, menu was limited.
We are visiting Washington DC and had a wonderful experience eating dinner at North Italia. The staff were excellent and so attentive. The food was excellent and the drinks were very tasty. Definitely recommend!
Consistently incredible food and service!
Great spot. Friendly service.
Great happy hour!!! Love the sangria, so nice to sit outside eat a pizza and grab a drink
Visiting DC for the week came upon this restaurant and decided to stop in for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised both food and service were great. We dined outside the first night we were so happy with the food and service we returned to dine inside. We ordered the Caesar salad and pizza which both were great. The second night we ordered the chicken pesto, Caesar salad and pizza again. If you are visiting or live in DC would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Food and service were great! Would definitely go back!
Excellent as usual!
There are many speakers overhead yet the restaurant was the perfect volume. My wife and I were able to speak comfortably on opposite ends of the table. Our server was fun to talk to and quick to help. Bussers were like ninjas taking empty plates or glasses. Food was perfect, truly. Couldn’t have had a better night. Thank you!
Excellent time & food
Was there for my birthday, staff was so nice! The food was amazing, don’t leave without trying the meatballs!
Very good food, extremely conscientious server. Only concern was a blast of cold air coming in every time the servers went in and out - frequently - to outdoor tables on a very cold night. Eventually we were moved to a warmer table and enjoyed the rest of the evening.
