   My husband and I normally enjoy the food at North Italia, but this time our usual favorite (Pesto Chicken Pasta) was very salty and swimming in oil. I didn’t eat much of it and didn’t want my leftovers at home. The white truffle garlic bread appetizer was delicious as always, but at those prices, all of the food should be consistently good. Also, we were there during happy hour but realized that the happy hour prices do not apply to the dining room. We could sit at the bar and share a pitcher of sangria for $24, but if we wanted to remain at our table, that same pitcher would cost $40. Most tables were empty in the restaurant at the time, so this rule clearly isn’t based on seating capacity. We ended up ordering water. Our server was friendly and attentive. It was the overall food quality and price discrepancy that created a negative experience for us this time.

   The best attention to detail in cuisine. On holidays like our Memorial Day you might have a little wait for seating and even kitchen delivery. Just be patient. The food is worth it.

   Sunday Brunch at North Italia is an experience not to miss. If the weather is mild, dine outdoors on the covered patio. Order a cappuccino or the Italian Aperol Spritz. The French Toast with Pistachios and chocolate bits is amazing. The Banana coffeecake is amazing! Or order the Italian donuts as a side - yum! I also enjoyed the Omelet with Prosciutto and Asparagus - very savory. For an appetizer, we got the Grilled Bread with olive oil- sooooo goood!!!! It is a popular place, so you might want to get reservations and come early.

   The atmosphere is nice. Our order took at least 45 minutes to arrive and my pasta dish showed up lukewarm. After what I considered to be a long wait, I was very disappointed that my dish wasn’t hot. I can accept a bit of a wait, but I need hot food. I can eat my own cooking and be just as disappointed for much less money. In no hurry to return.

   I have been to North Italia's other location in Arizona and knew the food would be amazing, and it was! We started with the meatballs and shrimp small plates and I had the chicken parmigiana and my boyfriend had the bolognese. We were very happy with the food! The service was mediocre - we waited a very long time to receive our meals. My chicken was cold when it arrived. Still tasty but not hot! Also - it took a while for our server to circle back to us after we had ordered.

    I dined at North Italia with a friend approximately one month ago and it was very good. I was excited to take my husband there yesterday for dinner, but my experience was much different. He said his entrée was good, but the pasta was gummy. I had the same entrée as I had the previous time, the Bolognese, which is their signature dish. I asked them to add Burrata cheese to the top of my entrée (the same as I did the last time I dined here, and it's an additional $5) and when I received my entrée, the Burrata was very cold, which wasn't the case the previous time; it was warm and delicious and melted into my pasta. It's like they just dumped it from the refrigerator onto the top of my dish, which made it difficult to blend into my pasta because it was so cold. The service was good. Very disappointed in the lack of consistency.

    We have been to North Italia several times. The food and service have always been excellent. Unfortunately, last night even though the food was still excellent, the service was sub par. We were seated in a section where the waitress had been given a very large party, and Left unattended for quite a while until another server finally came over to assist. I felt like I spent most of my night trying to get service rather than just enjoying my meal. No manager ever came to the table to check on us or help the server. The waitress that did take over our table, did her best to assist, but she was already busy in her section. She was aware of the fact that we were unhappy with the service and tried to make up for it by giving us desserts on the house, which was a nice thing to do but, I still did not enjoy my evening as much as I would have if I had better service. I don’t blame the wait staff as much as I do the management for this situation. The food was delicious as were the drinks. I hope the manager reads this and does some thing about it as I really do like this restaurant but if the service is not good will not continue to go there.

    A wonderful place to enjoy a quiet meal. The food is delicious. Try the Farmers Salad. Such a beautiful blend of flavors. I love the lightly flavored iced tea. Very refreshing. I had Chicken Pesto Pasta, delicious. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs with zucchini noodles. He devoured it. Lovely experience.

    I’ve been to North Italia several times but this time ordered the soup of the day and a side salad. The salad was good and exactly as I ordered, no croutons, dressing on the side. The soup of the day was called chicken vegetable but it had gemelli pasta in it as well. It tasted ok, but my main problem is that the chicken pieces in it were huge. This is the first time I’ve ever had to use a fork and a knife to eat soup. We also shared an order of ‘good bread and oil,’ not much oil but it is very good, could have made lunch out of the bread alone.

    Always a fabulous evening at North Italia! This occasion was 6 colleagues relaxing after a full day of activities. I recommend sharing one of the boards to start - encourages sharing & collaboration. We ordered entrees from Caesar salad w/chicken, pasta, branzino, salmon to short ribs - everyone was pleasantly sated.

    The food was great the wait times were a tad long. It took forever to my sister to receive her Shrimp Scampi Appetizer. I ordered the chicken parm and it was ok. My chicken was a little more brown than I liked but the noodles were amazing. Overall it's was nice.

    The meatballs and spaghetti were very good! The grilled bread was a little too charred and it was cold! The garlic bread faired better after we got it. They mixed up the order! The service was good! However the place was freezing! We asked if they could adjust the thermostat which they did and it got a little better! However toward the end of the dining experience it was getting cold again!

    We were at North Italia for a family birthday dinner. Our server (Nicole) made a couple of suggestions for drinks and main dish that were very good. The drinks and appetizer came out quickly but the main dishes were a little slow. In all fairness it was 6:30 and the kitchen was probably slamed with the first round of dinner orders.     I froze to death then ate the spicy rigatoni vodka. First and foremost, on a Sunday Night in Birmingham, there is NOTHING OPEN past 9 - except for here. Thank you - top thing that should be noted. Second, it was frigid. THe place was cute and decorated perfectly not that anyone cares about my preferences on their store but it was very cute. Very easy to snag a reservation online without having to speak to a human. Only issues I have were the very kind hostess who -IN THE NICEST WAY- alerted us to order quickly so we are not in jeopardy of not getting a food order after 10 which I very much understand but then after that, there was a 15 minute open space where nothing occurred. No order, no table touch no nothing. I would say - let that young lady take an order especially if she is giving good tips for customers. This might help the cycle of events. I also think some bread would've been helpful to have on the side.- probably the restaurant's discretion but I had some good sauce leftover in the vodka dish that I would've soaked up with some bread. Overall, seemed like staff was a team - they were in constant communication and I even heard the barkeep ask the young hostess if she had someone to walk her out to her car and that she loves her and she would see her the next day. I thought that was kind. We had the burrata app which I was not a fan of the honey ? On top - fine without it.

    Great food, great service, excellent vibes! We were in town for our daughter’s UAB graduation (Go Blazers!) and we dined here the night before. She had been with friends previously and said the food was great. Everything we ordered was wonderful — food, cocktails, everything. Oh and our server, Nekka was top-notch and so friendly.     There was virtually no wait. The staff was very friendly and professional with one exception. Our server. Walter. The moment he found out that we were 2 couples with separate checks his attitude shifted immediately. He was professional yet he lacked any and all personality..He even seemed put off by our presence in his section. I recommended this restaurant for its atmosphere and amazing food to friends that had never been to N. Italia. The food was amazing as always, however, I'll definitely ask to be served by anyone other than Walter on my next visit.. I still tipped over 20% but in truth, it wasn't deserved.. Great restaurant.. highly recommend

    Reservations are easy to make. They seat you quickly. Food is delicious and servers are friendly and efficient. Love the seasonal vegetable salad with pan seared salmon.
