North Italia - Plano
Great atmosphere and great food. Always a good choice for a night out!
Delicious birthday dessert selection was complimentary
Made an early reservation cause nothing was shown available tween 5:45 - 8:30. When we were leaving close to 8, there were several tables empty. Don’t understand why ?
Will definitely return soon ! birthday wife was quite happy with the dinner!
I ordered Arugula & Avocado Salad. I have never seen a salad meal that small. Maybe it was a side salad?? There were only a few small avocado pieces. Fast food restaurants have better salad. Foods in Texas are over priced in general, but you North Italy wins this honor!
Cessi the hostess is darling and our sever Kate was wonderful. Great food and great service!
We went to North Italia for our 29th anniversary with my son, his girlfriend and another couple. Christy, our waitperson, was very attentive and made sure all our needs and wants were taken care of. The food and cocktails were delicious and the courses were perfectly timed. I highly recommend North Italia anytime you’re in the mood for in house-made pasta and delicious, innovative Italian cuisine.
The free truffle bread served to each table was the best item. If you go, order a pasta dish. Salmon overcooked to a hard board. The hostess & waitress were very nice, but not attentive. The restaurant was terribly noisy. Pizza was different, but not very good. Salted caramel ice cream was very good. One dessert described as Italian doughnuts with lemon curd - just okay. First bottle of wine that was served had turned to vinegar,
Wonderful food, great service, good wine, fun environment.
Server was excellent, ambiance was perfect, and food was exceptionally delicious. I will be back soon!
We have been going here at least once a week since it opened in Plano. We recommend it to friends and family. Lately it just hasn’t been as great. Had to send pizza back twice because it was burnt. Not dark brown or slightly blackened like “rustic” pizza (as they described it when I brought it up) but flat out burnt. A majority of the crust was black as coal. Also, very disappointed they changed the ceaser salad. It no longer has pecorino cheese which made it excellent and set it apart from just a regular ceaser that you can get anywhere. We’ll probably come back for another try but not near as often.
Great food, hand made pasta, strong drinks, would recommend to a friend
Great food and attentive service
Look forward to next meal there
Jessie's service was fantastic!
Good food just really SLOW service and it’s not the first time either. I’m only writing this review because on a Wednesday night with open tables around us we were there for 2hours and 45 minutes! It took us over an hour to get our food when people who sat down after us got their food before my table and we were just a group of 3. Maybe I just had bad luck with both times I’ve been to this restaurant, but I thought I would warn people in case they were in a rush to not expect fast service.
Even with a reservation, I waited 20 minutes to be seated. The waitress, Ciara, was fabulous. The food was as good as always. The kitchen was in the weeds. It took 40 minutes for the entrees. Fortunately not in a hurry, but was still a bit annoying.
Always a favorite! Great service, great food!
Always very good! The spaghetti and meatballs are fantastic. I like it with veggie noodles I stead of pasta.
The food was really good. The price was just right for that kind of restaurant. Ambiance was OK, but AC was way too cold. And the service was a mess - nobody had a clue. Nice, yes, but completely clueless.
It was our first dining experience. We are so used to dining out in the south area of Dallas because of the good service and food. However, this was the best service compared to most restaurants in the north Dallas area. Our server, Christy, was great! The manager even came by our table to check on us. The food was ok. Pasta tasted fresh and good, but it needs a little more flavoring. I would highly recommend due to the service and ambience. Food can always taste better when there is good company and service!
The food is always delicious! The truffle garlic bread is divine! My favorite dish is the tortelloni.
It was good but not amazing! We have been a few times before and it was has been amazing! I know it was mother’s day and they were very busy, it took a very long time to get our food and it took so long to get dessert the server took it off our bill. The service is always great! I really hope they were just having an off night and they will get back on track soon.
Mother’s Day lunch. Party of 7. A little noisy so it was hard to hear sometimes. Great food
Had a wonderful Mother’s Day lunch/dinner. Great service, very attentive. Kitchen was a bit slow but it was the busiest day of the year for people eating out! I would eat there again and again to see they they really function. Great variety of food, great portions. I enjoyed the environment!
Another fantastic meal!
Great food with impeccable service. A Mother’s Day to remember.
Very good food. I feel the bread and olive oil was a rip off.... that should be imcluded! Unfortunately our waiter had BO and it was a bit uncomfortable when he was at our table or the table next to us.
Came here on Mother’s Day with my 2 kids, husband and Mother in-law. It was very busy, as I expected. But the service was awful. Only 2 of us had forks, the food took over 50mins to come out. We ordered the truffle bread, and it didn’t come out until our food arrived, and we ordered another bread and it was forgotten. Our food was cold when it finally came out, and my husbands food came out about 15 mins after everyone else’s. Just not a good experience. We have eaten there several times and it was great. I was excited to have my Mother’s Day there, but it was a huge disappointment.
Experience was great. Food was amazing and so was the service. Forgot the name of the host but she was amazing as well.
Our server, Jessie, was phenomenal and really made our visit entertaining and memorable. We really appreciated her energy, attention to detail and humor/wit. In addition, it helped that we REALLY liked the food as well, and the meatballs are definitely an item we'll get every time we go.
Two thumbs up!
The food here was amazing! We went at 11am for the brunch menu and weren’t disappointed. Highly recommend.
In all fairness the restaurant was slammed but it was the worst experience we’ve had there so far and we’ve been at least 6 times. It took almost 10 mins for a server to come to our table. 2 of 3 appetizers came out with no plates. We had to ask 3 different servers for plates. 3rd appetizer came out after we were almost finished with the others. All dishes but one came out together. One dish was missing 2 ingredients-server was asked twice about it. She brought the ingredients but my daughter was over half finished with her meal. Disappointed but I understand things happen.
Excellent food and service. I really enjoyed the chicken parmesan and desserts. The desserts were delicious too. Portion sizes were small and it was a little loud, but overall great experience.
This was our second visit and the food was even better on this visit. Our server, Adjae, was incredibly personable, knowledgeable and professional. Just a wonderful evening—GREAT place for people-watching, too.
Went there for a birthday dinner with family. Service was excellent. The menu was good, but could have a couple more pasta dishes, and small plates to choose from. Hard surfaces of the ceiling made the space a bit noisy, since it was busy. There is not a lot of space in the rows of tables, making the waitstaff dodge each other. Needed to be about 25% bigger for the number of tables. But the overall atmosphere was good, with very good service. We will go back.
The food was very good and the energy in the room was great - only comment - our server was more soft spoken and being at the end of the table I couldn't always hear her. I look forward to going back for their happy hour Pizza and Wine special!
We were celebrating a birthday with our group of 7 and North joined right in and made sure our evening was just perfect!! Our first time there, but definitely won’t be our last. Great food, great service, great people!!
Our server was great and the food was delicious! G
Great service is something my family has come to expect at North Italia and they did not disappoint during this visit.
We came to North Italia for a girls night with 3 of my friends, every single meal and appetizer choice was shared, and every drink of each other’s was sampled. Our waitress, Sharlisa, was so knowledgeable, attentive, and sweet! The food was hot, fresh, and so delicious. The drinks were creative, and we didn’t sent not one of them back, as they were exactly as described and matched our taste buds well. The decor and vibe of the restaurant is modern and beautiful. None of us has not one complaint! I made a reservation for us for 8 o’clock and we were sat promptly, and it was a Saturday night so every table was occupied. Lovely experience, we will most definitely be back!
This was our second visit to North Italia. This visit was not as good as the 1st. The hostesses were surly and I had to greet them we we arrived! Our server was friendly, but nothing special. We started with the meatballs and truffle garlic bread. Meatballs were delicious but the garlic bread was dry. My husband had the short ribs and it was good, serving was small. I had the Bolognese which is supposed to be a house specialty. I thought it was a little too oily. We finished with the tiramisu. I thought it was a little dry. I was so looking forward to this meal as we were celebrating my birthday, which was noted in reservation, but never mentioned. Guest next to us mentioned it was her birthday and she received her dessert on the house. 😒
When we left, the hostesses did not say “thank you” or “have a nice evening”. If they don’t want to be friendly, perhaps they should work in the kitchen. Disappointed for sure, doubt that we will return.
Best homemade pasta
Love the pizza
And the spaghetti meatballs
