North Italia - Plano
Hands down the worst experience I’ve had. For the price, $65 per person for their valentines special, the service was unacceptable. From the time taken to place the order to simple items such as serving water and 25 minutes to deliver dessert after three courses, I’d say North Italia is nothing more than a chain restaurant masquerading as a high-end boutique. I’m extremely disappointed and will ensure myself and cohort do not return.
Valentine was a limited selection menu for 65 each. The options were good but the food was not hot.
My husband and I were looking forward to ordering our favorite menu items - pesto chicken and grilled cauliflower. We had no idea that the restaurant had a prix fixe menu - ONLY. We found out when we checked in with the hostess. Not having any other options for Valentine's Day, we decided to eat at North Italia. The food was good - just not as good as it had been on our prior visits. Plus, we did not get a choice to order our favorite items. With one glass of wine, the dinner for two came to around $180.00 including tax and tip. We will visit North Italia again - just not on any holidays. Instead of a great expeerience, it was disappointing.
Valentine’s Day. Menu was very limited. No one mentioned that during the reservation. Truffle bread not available. That’s the one dish worth going there for. Very dissatisfied. Will not go there again. Not worth the $200.00. :(
The ambiance, food and service was excellent at this location.
We were seated right away since we had reservations. Our wAiter was excellent the food awesome
We celebrated 2 birthdays, 72 & 50! It was lovely.
Great overall, portions are rather small but very tasty.
The area is too open and noisy and I would love to see more items on the menu for lunch than it was presented. As Italian place I expected to see more soups and pasta dishes - but the pasta I got was outstanding.
Great food and helpful, nice staff! Will come back!
Wonderful experience everytime. Great food, service and ambiance. Perfect for date night or when you have to bring the family. They really do make any event special. We love the location in Plano and exciting to try the new location in Miami with friends.
We love the laid back atmosphere + vibe at North Italia. The food, craft cocktails + wine list are phenomenal. Great place to dine for any occasion big or small.
Great food, fun atmosphere, and my wife loved it, which is the most important thing!
La comida genial!!!
It was good, not great. This is mainly based on the house specialty being average. The squid ink mafaldine was delicious. Maybe that should be their specialty.
We always love eating here. Atmosphere and food is great. Tonight our service was extra great by Jessie our server, she was very attentive yet gave us the right amount of space for us to enjoy each other at dinner. The short rib pasta was out of this world on a cold rainy night. Looking forward to going back soon!
I love this restaurant! The seasonal roasted vegetable salad is amazing! Everything I have tried has been good. I will be coming back many more times.
Our server; Jessie, was wonderful. And the food was off the charts. Will definitely be back.
Our waiter, Brandon, made our whole experience fabulous!
Bar was slow with drinks. Food was delicious. Service was good except for slow bar. I had a screaming headache by the time I left because it was SO NOISY!!!! I couldn’t hear the person next to me speak when she was talking across the table!!!
It was so much fun and delicious!!
We don’t feel like a special occasion lunch! Very normal service!
OUR WAITER WAS OUTSTANDING! FOOD IS ALWAYS GOOD, NOISE LEVEL WAS LOUD THIS VISIT BUT WE ALWAYS ENJOY OUR DINNERS AT NORTH!
We came here to celebrate our daughter’s 22nd birthday and overall had a fun time! The food was was very tasty. There were 6 of us, and we all had something different. Hate to say this, but we all agreed the pizza, calamari, bruschetta, and desserts were the best part of the meal! The scallops/risotto was “ok”, the short ribs pasta was “meh”. The beef had kind of a strange taste to it, so was not real thrilled with that. The salmon meal and the mushroom tortellini again was just “ok”. Now...the appetizers, pizza, and desserts were fabulous!! Next time our meal will consist of these!! Service was ok, but our poor server had several tables that night so she was kind of running ragged, so I hate to give much discredit. Overall it was a fun night, and will definitely be back!!
Fantastic food, and staff. It was date night, and we couldn’t have picked a better place.
It was very good
The food is consistently good here, this time we had the burrata with gluten free pizza dough instead of bread, zucchini noodles with bolognese sauce, and my go-to the tuscan kale salad. Paired with a carafe of sangria, we had a delicious meal. If you have a gluten allergy, know that they take it seriously here & are careful to avoid cross contamination.
Great experience! Very lively and amazing food. We will be back!
Consistently delicious food and customer service is excellent. Every employee, combined with the ambiance, food quality, dishes and linens make eating here such a fantastic experience. The bartenders are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. It’s great for intimate dinners or large parties. Cost is sensible. Such a well done restaurant.
Staff is very friendly and welcoming. We always have a great experience eating at North Italia. Good job!
Great appetizers and northern Italian cuisine! I love the rice balls (arronzini?) Grilled Artichoke, Pasta Bolognese, Chicken Parm, Short Ribs, pizzas... we like to go with a group and share :) Only negative about this place is that it can be pretty loud at times.
Kate our waitress was awesome...did not rush us...everyone is terrific.
Food consistently good
We love love love North. It is just amazing. The drinks, food, atmosphere, and desserts are all fantastic. There are also great gluten free options.
Great night out!
Some of the best Italian food in the city.
Would love it if they could get rid of the heavy base drumming, so called background music, which is not music to any ears!
Wait staff was overwhelmed. Wait staff had to be asked for bread to be brought to the table. Food delivery was rather swift. Food was decent. Place is packed, you need a reservation. We tried to get in for 3 days. 2 of the 3 days was 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait. Go next door to Tru Food, it was delicious!!
Make sure to ask for Georgia, she’s such a fantastic server. The dining experience was so much better because of her.
The only critique is that we felt rushed. Appetizers arrived before drinks. Entree’s arrived before wine. The server seemed very eager to take order once we were seated. For my dining experience, I like to have drinks on the table before food. The food is incredible. We drove from downtown Dallas to eat. Can not wait for the Downtown location to open in the Spring.
Delicious food, good service and nice atmosphere. Would be great dining place for family, business or a girls night
