North Italia - Nashville
We went to North Italia for lunch and apparently they have the same menu for lunch or dinner. The food and service was good, but a little pricey for lunch. As I remember the entrée pasta dishes were all either $18/$19/$20. It appeared that bread was extra. The recommended meatball sandwich was very good and with potatoes, a very filling lunch and it was very good.
The lady who seated us acted like she couldn't hear me when I requested a booth and she walked away.
The waitress acted all superior. We ordered bread twice and never got it. She said she was sorry she forgot, but forgot again. My wife ordered the soup of the day and a salad. It later turned out they were out of the soup, so she ordered the scallops instead. She couldn't eat them because they were so salty, but couldn't send it back because the waitress disappeared for good.
Good food but service was marginal
Great food and service
North Italia is a welcome addition to the Nashville food scene...delicious pasta dishes and yummy cocktails!
It was good. Waitress was nice but a little slack. I will definitely go back to try the dinner menu.
Love having a place with homemade pasta. However, some of the sauces could use more flavor. Overall a pretty good Italian restaurant. Would probably eat there again.
It is an open area that can be noisy and first row of booths are close to “ your neighbor”.
The wines are nice but expensive by the glass.
We had an excellent waiter.
The last two times we have been to North Italia our service has been questionable. This past time the waitress, Vanity W, did not seem to appear as if she had had any service training or experience whatsoever. She never looked us in the eyes , she barely asked us what our order was , she didn’t explain anything , she didn’t know anything about the menu , she ignored us the first 10 minutes we were at the table. We had to flag her down to take our order. Just horrible. I don’t know what was going on but it was one of the worst waitress experiences I have ever had. .
Great food. Great service. Great overall experience. Awesome new place to have in Green Hills.
I think happy hour in the bar should apply to entire restaurant. Seems cheap. Food is just not that great. More grilled items would be great.too many pastas. Not really northern Italian food.
This is my go-to restaurant for lunch in Green Hills now! Love it!
Just fine, no real complaints. The city just has better options than this.
This is the second time we’ve had dinner at NI. In a nutshell, the food is good, but the presentation is lacking. We had the squid ink and short rib pastas. Neither looks particularly appetizing, particularly the former. Getting beyond the awkward bowls, even a tad of something green would go a long way toward helping the eye appeal of this dish. Come to think of it, I may have said the same thing at the pre-opening tasting evening! Perhaps the chef doesn’t bother to read these reviews.
Our server was wonderful and we were sat right on time. It is a very energetic ambiance.
Food was good in taste-not very hot. Fix that and it will be great.
From walking in the door to wonderful smells, to the end of a great meal, everything was fantastic. Attentive staff and great food.
Very pleasant experience. Staff helpful and efficient. Food very good.
Food was excellent and service was great. Server was well-informed, professional and friendly. Hostess staff was a little distant (and accidentally noted I was a “no show”for Open Table). Seating area was comfortable.
Your cauliflower small plate was great! However, the pizza and pasta dishes were so salty! It’s really not that necessary to put so much sodium on food. It prevents tasting the flavor of the dish . Bombolinis were also great.... just put the salt shaker down on your main dishes!!
Service started great and then she went missing for most of meal. Food took a while to get out. App's were fast, entree's s l o w..... Manager visited table but nothing done for delay.... this was our 2nd visit, we brought friends because first time was great..... will be a while before we return
So very good. This is my new favorite
It was a good upscale mall chain restaurant. The salads were fresh and well-prepared. The squid ink pasta was fine, but might try another pasta. Deserts were excellent.
This is hands down my new FAVORITE Italian restaurant, and I am PICKY, friends! Can’t wait to go back!
Overall a great experience. Food was amazing and service was great. However, even with our reservation we had to wait 15 minutes after the reservation time to be seated. We even showed up 15 minutes before the reservation time to let them know we were there. After waiting 30 mins they ended up seating us at a table that was open the whole 30 minutes that we had to wait.
I took my mother for dinner on a Friday before a movie. It was the first time at a North Italia for both of us. We enjoyed the meal tremendously. The white truffle garlic bread was truly incredible. That house made ricotta alone is worth the trip. Our pasta dishes were fresh and full of flavor. The service was attentive and friendly, but overbearing. We both were impressed with the experience and would definitely go back.
The food is great. They seem to be short staffed a lot. Getting a drink takes a LONG time. If they had more efficient bar service, it would be perfect.
Food and service were excellent. Too pricy for the salad I ordered. Perhaps if it had come with bread it would have been worth the price. Noise level was a little too high to have a relaxing conversation with friends. My friend said it was the best Chicken Parmigiana he had ever had.
Good spot. Excellent service.
Food was just OK. Not up to expectations.
i don't know, while the food was good, not memorable or even what I expected, the space is very nice, wish the bar had a little more character. Nice outdoor seating area when the weather is nice. the wine list is small but very nice, with a good glass selection and a nice bottle selection of Italian wine.
I expected a little more authenticity I guess given the name.
Food is good. Wines are not good and ridiculously priced.
Too loud.. could not even hear our conversation. Food was just average.
We tried a variety of things on the lunch menu, we enjoyed everything. Not a cheap lunch but considering where it is located they will definitely attract a higher end clientele. I'd reccomend it to anyone but I can't see it being a place I would return to repeatedly.
I was expecting more from this restaurant. I thought the food was average. It won’t be my first choice of a restaurant to return to. The service was slow as well and they weren’t that busy. Our server was very pleasant but we waited a long time for her and had to get her attention to come to our table.
Fantastic food, service and ambiance! Can’t wait to return.
We had a positive experience except when the hostess refused to let us sit at one of the empty bar tables so we could watch the football game while we were waiting (that table was never seated as the hostess told us that they were short on servers). Other than that it was a great first visit. We ended up sitting at the bar and being served by the bartender. The pasta and bread is made in-house and is delicious. We did not prefer the fried calamari but that was just because we didn't prefer the citrus dressing that covered them. We'll definitely return!
Overall our visit and experience at North Restaurant at The Mall at Green Hills in Nashville was very good. Food was great. The server was apparently a little inexperienced, maybe the waiter was new. Had to remind them about items requested several times and the server did not know the beer list very well.
Interesting food .outstanding service.
The meal took too long for a lunch.
Once the arugula salad arrived it looked like cooked spinach.
Wet and obvious sitting in dressing or too wet for a day.
I should have complained but I did not since we needed to leave.
Beautiful space. Love the layout and decor. Friendly people at hostess stand. Had to flag down dining room manager to get water while waiting on server after 12 minutes. Food was good and brought out in pretty good time given the lunch crowd. My colleague asked for a boiled egg on her salad instead of fish or chicken. On her previous visit they had done this for her. The waiter said he would ask. When the food came out my cauliflower dish had a fried egg but her salad had no egg. When we asked the server about this, he said they would not boil an egg for her. I think this is a little thin and kind of silly given they had done it before and—after all, how long does it take to boil an egg?
Overall good experience but I think I will plan my next visit after they have been open for a while. It appears they are still working some things out.
