North Italia - Austin 2nd Street
From the minute we got there, the service was excellent. The hostesses were friendly and welcoming, and the server was great. Definitely a downtown favorite.
Very good food. Best Bolognese I’ve ever had. Our waiter was excellent. Very small crowd on Saturday lunch, so a good time to try it. Modern decors but the chairs were very comfortable.
Fantastic food and service! We love coming here for birthdays and nice date nights.
Food was delicious and service was exceptional. Would recommend.
My boyfriend and I heard great things about this place, so we decided to try it out on our trip to Austin. The food was soooooo good! Our server was friendly and punctual, and provided great service! I was so pleased with the whole experience. It was a bit on the pricier end, but totally worth it. Our server recommended a Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc, and it was heavenly. Best wine I’ve had in my life! I really do recommend this place and plan on going back during our next trip to Austin.
We had a fabulous meal and a phenomenal server named Carrington. She was great.
Other than the slow service, food was delicious!
Food and service were great as always!
Definitely a nice place for a birthday or a date. The food is good but a little overpriced.
Everything was outstanding, from the food to the service!!
The food was delicious! Preston (our waiter) was knowledgeable and helpful and really enhanced our experience.
Always great food and great service.
The food was excellent. Great pizza crust. The Italian donuts and hazelnut torta were excellent.
My niece recommended it to me. Beautiful place with great service & food!! Would definitely go back next time I'm in town!!
Great food and atmosphere. We had more people than expected and they accommodated us.
Great food service and atmosphere it was expensive.
Service was great, kitchen messed up an order of short ribs twice — first with a burnt red wine reduction (which the kitchen acknowledged and then 86’d?), and then brought out a new plate with no sauce or seasoning.
Very loud tonight and the service was pretty slow.
Love the salads at this restaurant along with excellent t service, it’s a perfect match for me.
Inside the restaurant got very noisy when a bride's "hen" party arrived and the noise level in the next booth to ours made it impossible to hold a conversation. Luckily, we had eaten and paid the bill and were finishing the last swallow of a delicious bottle of wine. Large parties could be seated in a corner of the restaurant or outdoors on nice summer days where their partying will not disturb other customers who like to have a moderate-level conversation over dinner. But, I do wish the (bride and groom) much happiness.
Top notch all around,
This was my first time at the North location downtown, and I’m so happy it’s now here and the Domain. I’ve always had a great experience dining here. They’re extremely accommodating for various party sizes, and the food is fantastic.
Food was great, just unprofessional and disorganized seating manager made the whole experience so unpleasant, which is very unfortunate. I was running late for the reservation, gave them a call ,they said they will keep the seat,I got there 10 mins late( I saw a memo in their OT app ),the kept us waiting for 10minutes,and say they let the table go and tell us we need to wait for 40mins. Messed up operation and rude seating manager. This was very unfortunate experience, since the food was still amazing.
One of our constant go-to’s. Delicious food. Friendly and efficient service. Beautiful place and fun location
One of our very favorites. From the moment you enter until you leave, the staff is lovely and professional.
Food is great. I never New that it was better than Olive Garden. Service was nice and enjoyable laugh. Can’t imagine without North Italia
Great food, good wine and drinks. Try the bread, it is great!
Got a chance to share one of our favorite restaurants with my son this week....who wholeheartedly agreed with our assessment! Hard to beat North Italia from the front desk which is ALWAYS accommodating, to the friendly wait staff, and an attentive on-site manager. We have also had a very positive experience with the bar staff. Then is the great food....and if you have a request be rest assured every effort will be made to make it happen! We are big fans of North Italia. Keep up the good work!
We eat here every time we come to Austin. It is consistently good food, great service and the ambience is fun! It is definitely one of the best places to eat at while in Austin!!
We had an excellent experience here on a busy Friday night. We made reservations and were seated right away. The food was delicious, the drinks were good (though the wine was a bit pricey), and the service was excellent. The only minor disappointment was that the desserts were underwhelming and not very generous portions. Even so, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very nice, but not outstanding. Has a "chain" feel to it. Loud. Good food, but my wife's dish came out severely undercooked (apparently the cooks are not aware that gluten-fee pasta takes longer to cook). And to add insult to injury, that dinner was charged to us twice because it was "re-plated." In short, not a bad choice, but they seem to be missing the details that make the difference between "good" and "great."
First time at the downtown location and everything was excellent. Nice layout of the restaurant and the food quality was as good as the Domain location.
Great place! Good food! Nicest people! I totally recommend and will be back.
We were about 20 minutes to late due to rain and traffic. I let them know ahead of time and they held our table. The grilled artichokes and salmon pesto were amazing!
I booked North Italia because we had walked by several times and it looked great. We went there to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary on 6/4/2019. When we checked in, I could see that it said "anniversary" under my name on their tablet, but there was no mention of it by any of the staff. When you go to Eddie V's or Truluck's, they recognize the celebrations which I've grown to appreciate.
I didn't want to be sat at a table in the middle of the room so I requested a booth. There were plenty of booths along the window, but the hostess moved us to the opposite side of the restaurant which was empty. It was odd. We sat at a regular booth where a woman making bread crumbs in the kitchen uncomfortably stared at me through the glass for the next hour. My husband ordered a beer and the waitress brought something different than he ordered without mentioning that they no longer had what he ordered from their beer menu.
Would I go back? Yes. The food was good. We had risotto balls, daily pizza, cheese and meat board, sangria, and the heirloom tomato bruschetta. All of it was fresh, hot, and beautifully presented. Next time I go, I'll go with friends for a low key happy hour. For a romantic, celebratory dinner - I'll choose somewhere else.
You wont be unhappy. First time to the downtown location. Will go again. Waitress was awesome. Food and drinks also very good. Manager came by to say hi.
North Italia is one of our favorite "date night" restaurants downtown. Always a friendly staff, great food and an attentive manager who really wants to know you, and if you are enjoying your time there! Find that in Austin! We recommend North to all our friends, and have even given gift certificates to them to give it a try. We are happy regulars!
