It was our first time eating at North and we were not disappointed. The drinks were great as was our dinner selections. We will definitely go back.
Food was bland and below mediocre. Service was extremely slow and not attentive. The aesthetics on the patio were nice and there was enough shade to keep you relatively cool. The view was just alright.
Amazing funghi pizza - perhaps the best I've ever had!
Appreciated the call in advance that our outdoor reservation would be moved indoors because of the rain... when we arrived, it was very clear & other restaurants had their patios open... but at least we knew in advance. Indoor restaurant is loud, but we were on the slightly less loud side.
Food is always really solid ... just had to nix the service a bit because server let our drinks sit at the bar for a while, then didn't come check on us to make sure everything was ok, until after food starting arriving (but our cocktails had not)... but filet/steak was great, family liked their pizzas & salads...
The roasted salmon was delicious but I didn’t like the pesto mush that was under the fish , too salty.
I like the food at north, the location is nice, the decor and patio are also quite nice, however the food took FOREVER and we also had a portion to go, and our waiter forgot to put in the order for that, so when it was time to pay he ran off to put the to-go portion in, and that set us back another 30...2 hours for lunch is way way too long. And the kicker is that they didn't offer to comp any of it, which for a restaurant of that calibre isn't the norm. It will be quite a while before we brave that again given how many amazing restaurants are around Austin.
Brunch at North Italia was very good this Sunday. Our server was friendly and very good. We are familiar with the brunch menu, so we have our favorites. Mine is the short rib hash dish, which I order less spicy, still very tasty and a good portion size. My partner ordered the Farmer’s Market Scramble, and as always, enjoyed it.
So cute! Loved every minute and our server was amazing!!
Everything was amazing thank you!
too much mayo on the sandwich. otherwise everything was great.
Excellent place !!!
Loved it! Sit outside on the patio if the weather is good.
Prior to posting this I email the restaurant but have not heard back.
We have been to this location several times and had good experiences but this one didn't meet out expectations. There were several issues.
1. I made a reservation for a high top at he bar for my boyfriends birthday because he enjoys the view of the kitchen and the lively environment. When we arrived the hostess made a note that it was his birthday then said that we had to wait for a table. That took about 15+ min before she came back and said there was a problem with the reservation and we could sit outside or a low top. While waiting, we ordered a drink at the bar. After ordering the bartender said they were out of that drink. It took about 10+ min while the bartender disappeared and the other made about 10 other drinks.
2. Then the hostess sat us at a table in the far corner of the restaurant at a 6 top when there were only 2 of us. This location was as far off as the table reservation I requested.
3. Once seated the hostess said a desert would be comped for the problems we experienced. The waitress never mentioned the birthday. After having the appetizer and placing our entrée order we were told that the scallops were out. Then later when we placed our desert order, the waitress said that was out as well and blamed it on managements lack of information.
4. Upon receiving the bill, the desert was not comped so I paid the bill without saying anything & gave a 20% tip.
From prior experiences from here, I expected more. I wanted this evening to be special and it was a let down. I understand running out of items but before placing an order it would have been nice for the bartender/waitress to say, "by the way, we are out of....". Instead we kept ordering items and being told it wasn't an option. I'm a single mom on a fixed income so spending $150+ is for special occasions is something I have to plan & budget. I know I'm paying for an experience, not just the food.
Super yummy and such great service
Food was okay. We ordered the burrata appetizer, a couple of pastas — chicken pesto and strozapretti, the pig pizza, and tiramisu. I enjoyed the burrata and tiramisu but the pizza was too salty for our liking. It was a good meal but nothing special to come back for. Was also surprised we got charged for the water 😅 It was an okay experience overall with a nice dessert to end dinner.
Huge disappointment ! One of the reasons I frequent North is that the food is reliably good. No surprises. Everything out of the kitchen was barely warm. The pasta dish was undercooked and flavorless. And one in our party received her food 10 minutes after the rest of us. When I complained to the waiter, he said he would pass the word to the manager and tried to assure me that it would never happen again. I asked him how he was going to do that?
Great environment and service. I maybe felt like it was a little overpriced for the quality of the food. I got the chicken parm, and the chicken was great, but the noodles were very dry and bland. I also noted in my reservation that it was my parent's 22nd-anniversary dinner and our waiter or host said nothing about it.
Great food as always. Love the vibe. My only issue is that the service was spotty and did the one thing I do not like - served the app (salad) with the entree. That is a no, no in my book. The entree sits, gets cold and the table is plum full of dishes with a table of 4. I have been experiencing it lately at a few other places as well. Not a good trend. Fix that and it is 5 stars.
The other small issue is that they did not take the OPenTable Rewards coupon I was planning to use. They seem to have all kinds of issues (got management involved). And they we not able to take it. So now trying to reinstate the Rewards and use it somewhere else.
Service a little slow - kitchen maybe backed up a bit - but our party of 8 all enjoyed our lunch at North Italia - the shrimp scampi appetizer was my favorite! Very pleasant decor and convenient location to The Violet Crown.
Great atmosphere and good food. Bread is delicious but soaked in butter. Not too busy but slow to bring out bottle of wine.
Everything was fine, food a d service ! Keep it up!
Too bad one has to make reservations, but worth it.
We frequent North for brunch on Sundays. We have favorites on the menu. I prefer the short rib hash, which is tasty and a good size portion. My partner prefers the Farmer’s Market Scramble.
Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and efficient.
We had a great meal outside. It was early so it was super chill. Our waiter was not the best. She took a long time to serve us and often forgot things we asked for. Some of the items we asked for never came. Food was great though!
The truffle bread appetizer is a MUST! My fiancé and I split the chicken parm and it was delicious!
I was out of the country and made a reservation for Father’s day for my husband and in-laws with a special request. Everything was done how I asked them! I love North Italia and my family said the Brunch was delicious!
My favorite restaurant does not disappoint ever!
Our waiter was very helpful and when my boyfriend ordered something he didn’t like, he was nice and comped the plate instead of charging us. Would love to return.
Food was very good and the there were great choices for vegan and non vegan members of our group. The service was fantastic
Made a reservation and went for a power lunch. Both my colleague and I ordered a simple Caesar with chicken and waited over an hour for it. Both of us had to leave for meetings so did not have the opportunity to even eat the salads at North. Severely disappointed as I frequent this restaurant.
We love North Italia, particularly for a good early meal before going to a concert in the area. The staff is always so nice and accommodating and we really like mixing items from the happy hour and regular menus. We will definitely be back in the future!
We always love NORTH, the vibe is great, ambience is beautiful, servers are kind, and the food is excellent!
Service was a little slow. Menue is great. Food is great. Waiters were very friendly.
Great tasty food - but the service was horrific. It took over an hour for them to just take our order after we were seated and we had reservations....
Management and staff were top notch. Bravo!
Definitely will be going back, especially for brunch.
Beautiful indoor space and good Italian food. Service was very attentive.
Although the staff was incredibly nice, and our appetizer was delicious, the entrees were a huge disappointment. My husband ordered the wagyu skirt steak, asked for medium rare, and the steak came way over well done and was chewy. However, he said the cheesy grits that came on the side were delicious, but he did not finish his steak and was very disappointed. The staff accommodated by offering a dessert on the house, which was nice, but the steak was one of the pricier items so I would have rather had something done with that. I ordered the arugula salad with avocado and shaved fennel, and it was disappointing as well. Needed salt, and just wasn’t what I expected. The Arancini balls were delicious, highly recommend, and the dessert was okay. Overall we liked the place, but we’re disappointed since it’s so highly recommended. I told my husband I think we just ordered the wrong things, maybe should of gone for the pizza and pasta menu instead.
Dinner was good, the service was outstanding however looking at price comparisons in the area we felt it was a bit pricey for what we received.
The food was super good, and the restaurant itself is nice, just kinda loud later in the evening.
Excellent small plates that are quite filling & easy to share. Hearty salads. Our main pasta dish - Bolognese- was a wreck. Too spicy (chili oil) and lots of large garlic cloves. We were comped for the pasta dish, but it was disappointing.
