One of my favorites, lots of great memories
Bye wonderful place...
An attractive fun restaurant and the food was good for the most part. My swordfish was raw in the middle but the edges were fine. The service was lacking, we had to ask for drinks to be refreshed and there were numerous errors on our order. She brought 3 side dishes that were not ordered and missed entirely one persons order.
A sunny beautiful spot in Battery Park City with a casual feel but with seriously delicious food. They are closing this week due to a huge rent increase which is a terrible shame. A huge loss for the residents, employees and visitors to Battery Park.
Sad to see this restaurant go. It was a great asset to the neighborhood for several years.
My favorite restaurant in NYC. Sad it is closing in 2 weeks.
The quality of the food went downhill in this restaurant in the past couple of years. Burnt steaks and carelessly prepared pasta. Service was very good until they poured tap water in my bottled still water glass. Perhaps we exaggerated this Danny Meyer guy?
I'm just so sorry this restaurant is closing. It has been a go-to and even in the last few weeks was a perfectly lovely place to enjoy a great meal.
Thanksgiving in the city was fantastic! The food was amazing and we all loved being together without all the dishes 😊
Food was extremely underwhelming. In some cases almost bad. Server was good, although on a couple occasions we had more than one person ask us the same question. Hostesses were unpolished. Noise level was really good, we actually noticed how perfect the volume was.
Stumbled on this and was more than Pleasantly Surprised! Entry is a little cold and stark- but the dining room was jumping (though noise level wasn't bad) and the seating is done nicely. The food was reallllllllly delicious. Had no idea we were in a Danny Meyer place. I figured it out when I saw there was a No Tipping policy on our check. GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE. I'll be back!
A neighborhood gem. Superb, creative meals, and excellent bartenders.
Really fresh good and amazing wine menu. I will absolutely return
Very convenient to our Conrad Hotel location downtown (part of the building). Service was excellent ( and sometimes to the point of being too efficient). The liver pate on crostini was delectable. The homemade Pappardelle with wild boar ragu was outstanding. Branzino was very good and the swordfish was even better. point to make: There is no gratuity line on the bill. The manager explained that it is built into the food prices (which didn't seem high enough to notice) and that the staff receives pro rata "revenue sharing". Very modern and refreshing. Great downtown spot
The food was fantastic but the service sucked. We had to wait for bread and they bright is the wrong side. The waitress corrected it and compensated is but when it came to the dessert they put the "happy birthday" on the wrong dessert...(went there for my birthday) so I had to blow out my partners candle lol. But look.. We loved the food and hopefully that was a one off I wouldn't she away from eating there again but next time I'll probably sit at the bar
Good spot for business lunches. Sorry to see it close next month
The waiter begin attentive the. There were 2 big parties and the service went downhill.. unfortunately for the price it should be top of the line.
I’ve been there before and had an excellent experience. I was surprised at how mediocre the food was
Love this place. Gonna miss it.
Best lobster roll-and the duck fat fries are delicious.
The whole meal was based in lemon..,the chicken had no favor only sour from lemon..also the side....it should be spinach but it was sour Chicorée.
And the wine is to expansive for a glass of wine 20 Dollar is really to much ( I would understand this by a good quality!!!)
Having dined here many times over the past 7 years, I have to say this was the most disappointing experience I’ve had. The service was clumsy, and the meal was not well prepared (I had the pork chop, it was a fatty cut and oddly different levels of rare to medium rare to medium throughout.) Very pedestrian especially given the cost.
Great dinner and quality service. Really thought our waitress was great.
It’s a shame that the landlord quadrupled the rent, forcing North End to shutter it’s doors forever in mid-December —but happy to have discovered it before then.
Not at all up to prior experiences but I understand the restauratn is closing in 2 months. Otherwise, I would never go back.
Cynthia is the best waitress ever
This is a no tipping restaurant. When calculating out the cost of a dish (removing what would be an average tip), it is a very reasonably priced restaurant. The portion sizes of most dishes are generous. The artichoke salad and the duck fat fries are large, and can be shared between 2 or 3 people. I was presented with a lovely amuse bouche of a swordfish salad on toast. I got the grilled lamb, and it was cooked correctly to my med/rare request. I am sad it will be closing at the end of 2018. For non drinkers (ex pregnant women, young kids, non drinkers etc) the bar will make delightful craft mocktails to pair with your meal. I got a peppery ginger spicy with a slight fruitiness mocktail that paired with my lamb well.
A NY bar scene ... hot ... food was OK - we had the following: Fried Zucchini & Blossoms - not a lot of favor other than the oil it was cooked in, Mandilli with Pesto - salty, Arugula & Pecorino - VERY salty, oysters = OK, Prime Ribeye = OK, Spinach & Chicories = OK, Lamb Meatballs, Arrabiata, Ricotta = not very flavorful, AND Tiramisu Semifreddo Mascarpone Semifreddo, Espresso & Marsala Soaked Pavesini = not a lot of flavor.
The dining room was fine.
Service was fine.
For the food and the price, I would not return.
Food was good, but not stunning. Dishes were not served in the correct order. They made up for it by giving us an order of duck fat fries that were excellent.
Don't go here if you are hungry. The portions are very small - my salad was about 4 bites, no kidding. And the food is unremarkable.
Amazing wine, oysters, pasta ...amazing dinner all around!
Location was beautiful, food was incredible and the service was excellent.
Always a delicious meal with stellar hospitality.
Outstanding! My go-to business lunch restaurant.
Delicious dinner. Everything was on point, from the location, the service staff, the food and the ambiance. I was there to celebrate my anniversary and the hostess seated us immediately and handed us special menus which were customized acknowledging our anniversary. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend the restaurant.
This was an expensive, non-tipping restaurant and the service was abysmal. For example, I ordered a rib eye steak with fries and the fries arrived after the dinner was complete. For $52 per plate the food was mediocre. Should’ve had a pizza!
Enjoyed the food, ambiance & Rose. The hostess was helpful. Loved the no tipping policy!
Always a great time at north end grill- declicious food, attentive service, great options and fun wine list.
Outstanding service, excellent all around!
