Live music and excellent food. Only issue was small portions. Overall very enjoyable experience.
The food was very good and the service was great. Nice place to eat breakfast, apple fritter french toast, need I say more.
Andrew Walesch Trio was playing. Great cocktails. Enjoyed our meals, but regret not trying the pan seared sea bass! Charcuterie starter was delicious AND substantial - no room left for dessert.
New Year’s Eve with good friends!
Pre Vikings game. Great spot for a quick bite and easy 6 block walk. Big burger and decent selection but it’s. A supper club. More high end than needed but they weren’t packed and we just wanted a quick meal!
Friends recommended it. For a French cuisine it did not have many French options. No croquet madam. It was a basic breakfast menu. Service was fine. Nothing special.
Classic French Cuisine in a wonderful bistro setting. A pleasant surprise.
Normandy Inn and Normandy Kitchen are just kitschy enough without being schlocky. It feels like walking into a themed hotel of the 1960s or 1970s. It’s warm, fun, vintage, but clean, fresh, well-maintained and full of dedicated workers. The menu is both mid-century modern, as well as totally now and totally happening. Absolutely excellent cocktails, heavenly popovers, delicious entrees. It’s a must-go!!
Great ambiance, wonderful food, relaxing environment!
Great breakfast! Cozy spot to grab a bite. It was very busy because of a Vikings game but the service was still excellent. Moderate prices for downtown also.
The food quality was excellent, with much attention to the preparation. Service also second-to-none. This place was a surprise find in downtown Minneapolis! Will be back!
A great find in downtown Minneapolis. Excellent food, nice wine list and friendly service.
Haven't been there for a few years; was wondering how my hubby would like the place as it's not very fancy and I wanted to take him someplace on Thanksgiving (we were visiting Minnie) that not only had great food but was also nice .. well I was surprised. Updated on the restaurant side! Very, very, very nice .. and as always, the food and the service is always spot on. And their charcuterie boards is pretty much beyond compare .. and the 2 way duck with farro rissotto was pretty damn special. This place is better than ever!
Loved it! Exceptional service! Will absolutely return!
This was the 4th year in a row spending Thanksgiving with our daughter in the cities.
The first 2 years was great food and good times. Last year we noticed it fell off a little bit. This was our last year so why stop when you think you have a good thing going.
This year we left hungry. Great food but small portion sizes. It’s almost like our tray was set up for 2 people not 3. Didn’t get pie even though the menu states that there is pie on the Dessert Platter. Compliments to the chief, the food as always is very good but just not enough to feed 3 people especially at $34.50 per person served family style. Our server didn’t even know that we had been served our meal. She had to come ask when we were all done. The same with the deserts. I asked for a refill of my Diet Coke. That was brought by the bus person after we were done with dinner. We are glad our daughter will be graduating in May so we can get back to having Thanksgiving at home. It’s to bad that it ended on a bad note after the first years being fun and festive. Maybe we shouldn’t have told the server we were from Wisconsin!
Great food and atmosphere and attentive staff. Will come back for other meals.
Wonderful service by Sammy! Delicious Thanksgiving dinner.
We went there for Thanksgiving and it was great. Everything from the ambiance, our server, to the food was excellent. We usually try new places every year for Thanksgiving, but I think we've found a restaurant that will be a new tradition.
My dinner was excellent. I would highly recommend!
The Normandy Kitchen was very quiet in the actual dining room on the Saturday night we visited as there was nothing going on downtown. I was concerned that this was due to the food quality, but I was so wrong! We started with Salmon Deviled Eggs and Pate which were both delicious. I had the Sea Bass fish special, which was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. We will come back next time we visit. The service and recommendations were top rate. Super place and fabulous food!
Great food and service. The room was quite and waiter was very professional.
As always, the Normandy Kitchen was excellent. You can’t ask for a better or more pleasant meal, service, or space in downtown Minneapolis for the price.
Had a wonderful meal. If I lived there I would be there often.
Pre-vikings game celebration. If you enjoy popovers, this is the place to get one.
The restaurant was quiet. We were in a separate room from the Viking fans in the bar. The food was outstanding. My Normandy cocktail was a real treat. We had to order the pop overs given their association with the restaurant. The pan seared duck was properly cooked and very moist. The sauce was delicious. Our friend marveled over the wild mushroom risotto. I am not a big fan of chocolate deserts. However, I did sample the chocolate mousse and loved it. I cannot imagine a better chocolate mousse and intend to order it the next time we return which will be soon. I am very fond of Normandy cuisine and this restaurant does a great job offering and preparing such dishes.
We love the Normandy Kitchen, not only for the great food but also for the fantastic live music. Saturday night was a lively scene--busy restaurant and packed bar with an incredible singer/band doing jazz, covers of classics and blues. Service is sharp, cocktails perfect. Always pleased with our food. I got more lovely mussels than I could comfortably eat and my husband's beef entree was superb. Old school ambiance, but all kinds of customers--not just oldies!
We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary last week. The Duck Two Ways was AMAZING! The risotto was melting in your mouth kind of way. We’ll definitely be back!
We went to try their popovers. You have to pay $3 for it and the butter. It was good. The rest of the meal was not very good. The half chicken was so small and the leg part tough. The dessert looked better than it tasted.
Still a classic in Minneapolis. Fresh food, well prepared with friendly service.
Fabulous cuisine, authentic French recipe format.
Taste and flavor most enjoyed.
Wine list is small but adfequate selection
Generous portions.
Superb service and ambiance.
Definitely a "Classic" locale, with memorable
and worthwhile dining experience.
A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. We ate it all
The hanger steak and pork tenderloin were both delicious. We ordered some summer cocktail specials- also delicious! Our greeter, bus boy and waiter were okay but not overly attentive or polished.
Nice to see Chef Patrick Atanalian cooking in the kitchen.
We went there based on a positive review in the Minneapolis paper so we had high expectations. I'd say the food turned out to be pretty average. Everything was competent, just nothing too special.
The french food was just wonderful!! Keep up the good work! The music on Jazz Tuesday was just right. We look forward to coming back again! Keep the faith during the difficult road construction period - Thanks much!!
The new tasting menu was a huge success for our night out! Chef Patrick nailed it wonderfully. The live music was an unexpected bonus as well. The entire experience was just wonderful!
The Chef Patrick was exceptional. The ambience was pleasant and everyone ws friendly. Highly recommended.
Excellent food at a great price. Very friendly and engaging staff. We had a wonderful time dining at the Normandy Kitchen.
Modestly French, with a few hard to find dishes (beef marrow, which was outstanding; and seared duck breasts). A bit of a find actually if you're interested in French cuisine.
We came to the Normandy kitchen for my mother‘s 79th birthday. Three generations were in our party and everybody had a time. It was a relaxing environment with good service and good food.
