Nordstrom Grill City Creek Center Ratings and Reviews
Went for a meal before a symphony performance. The location is extremely convenient for that and the restaurant is quite nice. We were there on the early side because of the timing of the concert, so it was sparsely populated. It filled up as we ate. They have a limited menu but the food was delicious (halibut on a bed of risotto and asparagus, chicken in roasted garlic and tomato sauce over angel hair pasta) and the creme rule for dessert was particularly tasty. Old timely B&W photos on the wall are nostalgic, interesting and I like the woody booths. Service was great. Additionally you get another hour validated on your parking ticket. It is of course not a late night spot being inside the store, but I can attest to the consistency of quality even in different locations. We came here because we had a good experience in the grill in the MOA in Minnesota. The prices are reasonable for the level of food.
This is was a great surprise! A friend suggested and I was not sure what to expect for a restaurant at Nordstrom. In summary, the food was good. The service without problems and the environment quiet and relaxed so that one could have a great conversation.
I definitely recommend it for a business lunch but for any occasion where you do not want to
deal with a noisy environment while having a good meal!
On Pioneer day parade (Utah local holiday) we decided to give Nordstrom Grill a second try for lunch, after our no so lucky visit few months ago. Our experience was extremely different this time. We were promptly greeted at the door by the hostess with a super sincere interest, and we were offered a table with an amazing view of Temple Square. Our server was very cordial, knowledgeable, on point, and suggested us to try the crab cakes to start our lunch; they were havenly! This restaurant is one of downtown SLC best kept secrets, the place is beautiful, with excellent. prompt service, and amazing food, if you are reading this, now you know where to go. Great for business lunch, meeting friends, and pre-shows dinner, with limited menu items, all health conscious and top notch, with specials that vary often. We will visit again and we know you will do the same for sure. ★★★★★
The Nordstrom Grill at City Creek is a convenient place to eat when attending a performance at Symphony Hall. The food is very good, the service is fast and efficient, and the view, if sitting by a window, is nice. The menu offers something for everyone, young and old alike.
It is also a nice place to sit down and relax when shopping. Unlike other Nordstrom restaurants I have visited, alcoholic beverages are not available.
Excellent food had the Crab Mac & Cheese and wife had Shrimp Lime Cilantro Salad. Topped of the Dinner on Valentines Day with the Chocolate Moose Cake with Rasberry topping. Would definetly recommend and our server was very nice and attentive to our needs. Try it you will love it.
We have been here several times. It's consistently good. Not super exciting and a little overpriced - but good. And we especially like that we can usually get seated and not have a 45 minute wait like most places at City Creek.
As far as our last visit - my husband ordered the French dip. Meat was good. The au jus was served cold. I ordered the salmon risotto. The salmon was a bit overcooked and a vegetable or salad would have made a nice addition to the meal instead of just rice and fish.
But overall a nice place, great service and good food.
Just incredible! Perfect spot for the whole family with a great kids menu. Probably our favorite spot in Salt Lake since its so convenient and the food is always very good. We've eaten here many times and never had a bad meal and I find myself saying "yum" the whole time.
I REALLY wanted to like this place! It was perfect for a pre-Mo-Tab Christmas concert dinner, our waitress was friendly and open about the craziness they were experiencing in the kitchen (apparently they had to run to Harmon's for supplies and it was only 5:45 PM), and I think they were doing their best to deal with the onslaught of business. HOWEVER, when we finally did get our food it was so salty it was almost inedible. The cut of steak was great, the potatoes were perfectly done, but honestly, we could barely taste anything but salt. It was super disappointing. I'd probably try again on a less busy night, but for the $70 we paid for dinner, it wasn't worth it that night. (I will give mad props to some excellent calamari, but the appetizer and the water shouldn't be the highlight of the meal!)
We eat here infrequently but it's always been a success. Service is fast and friendly, food choices are a bit limited but they do have daily specials. The food itself is good to very good, and the convenience of having the restaurant in Nordstrom's will keep us coming back.
The food was terrible. A basic braised short-rib was served cold and dry. The kale and squash bed lacked seasoning. I was told that this was one of their best dishes... if this is indeed true and this was an accurate representation of their "best" then the rest of the menu must be as bad. I will not return again.
Solid bet! We are there three days in a row while on our business trip. This is a yearly trip and we have many favorite restaurants that just weren't as good this time around. After a few mediocre meals we stuck with Nordstrom cause the food was guaranteed to be delicious! Portion size for entees could be slightly larger. The background music was also too loud. We were there as a two top, then four and also six. The table of six couldn't hear anyone talking who wasn't directly seated in the middle.
You wouldn't think that a department store restaurant would be in top" want to go back again" list. Sixth and Pine is definitely there. It is located on the second floor of Nordstroms, right off of the escalator.
You walk in and the first thing you see is a beautiful view of Temple Square from a big window. They have small tables by the windows or booths with glass at the top, so you can still see the view.
The waitstaff is very friendly and accommodating, being on top of everything, including my sister drinking her soda faster than what was thought humanly possible.
The food was very good. It was kind of diner food kicked up to almost gourmet level. The only issue I had was the prices were a little steep for what the food was, but I would still be happy to pay them again if my experience is as good as this last one was.
We were going to a concert in Abravanel Hall. My wife ordered well-done Pan Roasted Salmon with risotto. Both the salmon and risotto were good. One problem was that the salmon was a really small piece and the price at $19.50 was high. I had Roma Tomato Basil Cup (soup) ($3.95) which was fine. For main dish I had hummus with flatbread ($7.50). The quantity served for this dish was OK, my only complaint was that the hummus really did not taste quite like hummus prepared from chickpeas with tahini. They also charged $3.95 for a medium size bottle of Pellegrino.
Thus, on the whole food was good, price on the high side. Major complaint was that we waited for about 35 minutes for the food to arrive (even though our server, Shanice was good.) We were concerned about missing our concert performance.
