Norah Ratings and Reviews
Original combinations of flavours and textures, beautiful and colorful presentations. The subtle use of smoked ancho or similar pepper instead of ordinary black pepper, in one gorgeous salad, is an example of creativity. The restaurant is both a dramatic room with a high ceiling and striking pieces of art, and a comfortable space because of the neutral colour scheme and careful use of contrasting textures. The bar scene looked lively too.
I was so impressed with the service and treatment. I was there celebrating a birthday/engagement, and not only did we receive complimentary champagne and dessert, but also the menu had "happy birthday' written on it.
The server made the occasion very special!
Norah really exceeded my expectations. From the initial phone call to change our reservation, to the waitstaff who seated us to the delicious meal, I look forward to returning even though it's nowhere near my neighborhood. The freshly made ricotta, the scallops, and the gnocchi were standouts. Comfortable seats, lovely room. A tad noisy but it somehow adds to make it festive.
Everything about our experience was incredible. Took an old friend there for her birthday, and the food was absolutely excellent. The service was top-notch, and I would recommend this restaurant to anybody that is looking for a great foodie experience.
Did some online homework and Norah seemed to be the kind of place we like to try when visiting a new city. The food was amazing - extremely creative and flavorful. If i had one criticism it. Would be that in two dishes we sampled there was too much going on. Both were seafood dishes and the spices overpowered the taste of the fish, I thought. Their handling of vegetables was amazing though. My favorite dish was the roasted eggplant and cauliflower with Moroccan spices. Service was attentive and informed. Very nice wine list, too.
I like this place and have been about four times in the past three months. The brunch menu has never changed - really need to add to this or change up some of the dishes. Add some scrambled eggs, omelette, some salads, some seafood options etc. Mimosa is 90 percent orange juice and 10 percent sparkling wine - at 12 dollars a glass - time to up your game Norah.
It was one of the worst experiences I had , the food was soggy and cold , and waiter didn't even pay attention to us- they didn't ask why we didn't like the food and were not attentitive at all. Ended up paying $200 for just sitting there. The manager was also so arrogant. When he asked how my meal was, he just said "well too bad". He did not offer any courtesy at all. Would not go back or tell any body else .
I love coming to Norah for the amazing cocktails. They have such talented bartenders! I've never had a bad drink here. I've recommended the bar to several people actually. I usually don't get much food here, but the desserts I have gotten always been delicious. I recently came for brunch with a friend and it was also fantastic. The food here, while pricey, is very well made and flavorful. The menu changes periodically, which I like because you can try new things and it doesn't get boring. The staff is always very friendly as well, and the ambiance is nice. The restaurant and it's facilities are also very clean.
This is by far my wife and my favorite spot in LA. I'm vegetarian and there's never a shortage of incredible food for both the veggie and the meaty. Service is spectacular from the bar tenders, to the waiters to the people that clear your table. Everyone really seems to love their job here and it shows.
We were excited when Norah first opened in our neighborhood. We will not return as we have given Norah two chances. Overpriced items for mediocre tasting foods. We just went again to give them another try on Sunday for brunch. My hamburger was overcooked and the patties were very thin. Bun was too puffy and tasteless like a bun you would buy at the local supermarket (that I never buy.) The iced teas are $3. on the menu and served in a tall thin glass. When they brought another, I asked if it was a refill, and they said that they don't do refills but we would be charged another $3. so we declined the other tea. When we got the bill, the server charged us $4. for each iced tea. When we mentioned this to the manager, she made no effort to refund our money for the mistake, not that we would have taken it but it would have been a professional gesture. I would not recommend going to Norah. There are so many other amazing choices in and around West Hollywood. We are sad that we will not be returning as we literally live around the block and dine out 5 - 6 times a week.
