Great service, tasty authentic unique food combinations lend to an energetic atmosphere. Get a table on the second floor and watch the open kitchen perform. The only down side is the light lists of wines by the glass. Solid recommendation.
We brought some friends from out of town for brunch here and the menu was outstanding. Our friend is a picky eater and he was very pleased with his meal. We all were!
Horrible experience. The waiting time. The food. The service. Except for the bar, this is a never again case.
I'm still thinking about pappardelle with bolognese! The burger was also amazing. Can't wait to go back.
Went for brunch. Food was all good, some was great. Really liked the Moroccan lamb dish, the smoked trout salad, and the custard French toast. French toast is super rich but worth every gut-busting bite. Mezcal Bloody Mary was delicious and smoky, but very spicy, so watch out! Good coffee, too. We sat on the second floor, which was quiet, but it looked loud down on the first floor with the brunch crowd. Prices were reasonable for a trendy spot in San Francisco.
Great food, terrible service. The woman in the upper level totally forgot about us. Not sure I’d return.
Great food, great service - looking forward to coming again.
Nopa never disappoints. I could eat their custard french toast forever. We arrived about 15 min early. Not sure why we we had to wait until our exact reservation time to be seated, since the place was empty, but not a big deal. Felt a little rushed in the beginning as plates were taken away rather quickly, but outside of that ALWAYS excellent meals and nice dining experience overall.
Nopa is my favorite restaurant in the city! Their menu is always interesting, and their flavor combinations are amazing.
Service was terrible, but food and drinks were good - we sat there for a full hour from when we finished eating and actually left - between our server asking if we wanted dessert, bringing the dessert menu, us declining dessert (because we figured it would never show up), finally giving us a chance to ask for our check, and paying, it took A-Full-Hour (and the hostess was the one that got our check).
The pacing of the meal was terrible, food came quick, drinks took forever (we could see the bar wasn’t too busy) - our second drinks didn’t show until we were basically done eating.
Food was good but not good enough to be worth the hassle.
We were sooo impressed with everything we ordered. Great flavors, perfectly cooked. I was craving my meal I ate the next night as well. If I lived in San Francisco I would frequent nopa often.
We were a party of 6 and the Nopa team nailed it - made our celebration special and so fun... we could be loud and blend right in. Food came out timely and was delicious, we all left full after 4 courses of family style dining. Plan ahead and you too can throw the best birthday bash!
Always enjoy the food and bevys at nopa! It took ~20 min to get our table which was surprising for an 11p reservation. Rather glad I thought ahead to make a rez, otherwise the wait would have been long!
It started off pretty well. Waitress was not knowledgeable on beers even though they have an extensive beer menu. But the appetizers were good and came out quickly.
But then... appetizers cleared quickly. There was anticipation for the main course approaching soon— but no— the main course was served to 4 out of 6 of us after about 25 minutes from clearing the appetizers. The final 2 main courses (both burgers!) came out 7 min later.
The dinners were overall well-received but the burgers were bland and dry.
Our waitress and nobody else ever checked on how our food was. We ran out of water at the table. There were never any apologies about anything. It seems they are running on good reviews and not really trying.
Wonderful experience with incredible drinks, great service, and lovely food. We would have appreciated more than one vegetarian entree, but made do...
Original and creative America food.
Waitress was fun and cool.
Table upstair had a great view on the kitchen
Flat bread (pizza ) was excellent
Underwhelmed given how hard it is to get a reservation. The food was just ok.
Wonderful Easter Sunday brunch--the reservationist for this was especially helpful!
Had a terrific Sunday brunch. Really interesting menu- all four meals were outstanding. I am still dreaming of my sausage and veggie hash with poached eggs.
The food, ambiance, and service were all amazing. It is a beautiful space - a nice mix of comfortable and fun, with a little special treat mixed in. We had a late reservation, but arrived early. They were able to seat us early, and seamlessly transferred our drink order from the bar to the table. Our server was friendly and efficient and took great care of us. I highly recommend the smoked trout appetizer, but everything we ordered was excellent. It was our first time here, but not our last!
I highly recommend the pork chop.
The cocktails are hand crafted with care and the Manhattan is one of the best!
Nopa is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. You get basically the equivalent of a Michelin place for a decent price, without all the extra fanciness and bouginess, it's just really good food.
First time back in a while and it was worth it. I love this neighborhood spot.
Delicious food, great service and buzzy ambience
Great food, but it took a little long to get. Kind of loud, but fun. SF classic, glad I checked this one off my list.
It was ok, not sure what the hype is about. It seems to be a hang out place for young professionals who can afford it and want to seem hip. The food was fresh and ok, nothing very inventive. There is a vibe of - we are really cool and so you better have a reservation. Didn’t see anything to make this place a classic .
Everything was fantastic. I've now had the burger 3 times and I can definitively say it's the best I've ever had.
Love this place! Great food, and I love how the menu is always changing.
Normally we love this restaurant, it’s gone down hill and our waiter was very unhelpful and rude. Food wasn’t as good as it used to be either.
Everything was delicious, it was hard to pick what to order but then it didn't really matter because it was all good.
Great loved all the food thank you
Overrated. Not worth the wait
Wonderful neighborhood culinary experience.
A must try!
The food was great!
The wine list is way over priced! Come on...
The service was not good. Our server was very unengaged. We ordered two starters. One arrived the table
Which we ate and the second one went missing. I asked the server twice where it was and she just brushed it off.
By saying its coming. The server takes the order then pretty much disappears from what we witnessed. Four different
People brought wine and food throughout the evening and the server appeared here and there. No one person in charge of our table. We also ordered a second bottle of wine and that took forever. We drank a third of it and took it home as it came well after we got our mains.
Yes, Nopa is happening and yes the food is good but this past Friday the service was not good and the attitude from our server wasn’t rude just not caring.
One of my favorite spots when I lived in SF. Was very excited to bring friends and family on our visit, but very disappointed. Our table wasn’t ready and since it was a 9pm reservation this was very frustrating. We were tired and hungry. It set the stage for the rest of the evening. The food was good and the burger as I remember. The bar was crowded, restaurant loud, and the tables were overbooked. Overall not the best ambiance and perhaps it’s bc I had built it up that it was disappointing.
I always have a great time at NOPA. The food is always perfect, the service is always friendly.
As always, nopa delivered another excellent experience from beginning to end. I was there celebrating my work anniversary with my boss. Our pre-appetizer cocktails started us off in the right direction. We split an appetizer and 2 entrees for dinner. We were greeted with an in house wine pro to help with our bottle selection. She nailed my tasting profile to a tee. Love the environment at nopa and will continue to take my business there for years to come.
A dinner full of delicious surprises.
