Such a wonderful and delicious meal!!! Thank you!!!
Appetizers were very large and very good ! Main course large and very good as well. We would come back.
It's BACK! I love NOPA. The menu is always a nice blend of old favorites and seasonals. We went for my boyfriend's birthday and there were three of us. We started with the butter beans which have "replaced" the gigante beans starter - it's apparently the same thing with a different name. It was rich, earthy and nicely balanced. We also got the smoked trout (which is always a standout) - really fresh flavors and the trout is delicate and subtle, and the warm olives (esp delish here), savory monkey bread (good & popular). For entrees, we chose the bolognese spaghetti with fresh peas (really nice, rich sauce made lovely contrast to the peas and pasta perfectly al dente), the duck leg confit (perfect), and the porchetta. NOPA is famous for its pork chop and when I expressed my disappointment that it was not on the menu, I was told the porchetta had replaced it. I was skeptical (I'm not a big fan of a LOT of fat), but it was amazing. It was so delicious, and the fat was somehow not disgusting. I think my dining companions may have been jealous - it was *really* good. I had to take most of it home, despite having had help with it from my friends during the meal. For dessert it was cheesecake, a berry tartlet, malt ice cream and chocolate chip cookies. I'm not a big dessert person, but all of the selections were delicious - and they gave us a candle for the cake. :) All-in-all NOPA still delivers solid food, a creative and seasonal menu, a good wine list and delicious, carefully crafted cocktails. Worth it.
It was so great to go back to my favorite restaurant in SF. Dining outside in their parklet was very nice. Overhead heat lamp for each table. It was nice being outside on a beautiful night. Inside dining looked wonderful as well. Food and service were amazing, per usual. I'm happy to see Nopa is doing so well!
I have always been going to the Nopa ever since I moved here four years ago. However this experience out of the past half a dozen times that I’ve been, has been the worst due to service. They are usually on point with everything.
I completely understand that the industry is suffering hiring people right now and the parklet outside adding capacity doesn’t help with increase need of service either. I checked in 10 before my reservation and saw other people check in well after me to be seated immediately. I was seated 10 minutes after my reservation time and we had to wait 20 minutes for our cocktails. Our food came in a timely manner except for the main dish. That took 25 minutes and by that point we were already tired and full. The staff were kind, perceptive, and very professional albeit the host who completely neglected me for seating and for accommodating with a drink for waiting. I love the Nopa but this experience was not optimal considering I reserved 2 weeks in advance.
Per usual, the food at Nopa was AMAZING, and the wait staff incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. We were sitting inside at a table for two next to a partition screen and the other side was quite noisy. I think it's where the take out orders are processed, but the sound of a machine repeatedly spitting out information was annoying.
Awesome food as always, but a very loud crowd that can even make it loud outside- not the restaurant’s issue but the clientele!
Nopa always does an amazing job, well worth a trip back out into the world to enjoy their delights
The dinner was overpriced for what you get. The fried chicken had a dense crust and was oily.
Uncomfortable shabby parklet, huge price increase on the burgers, bland tasteless meat.
Used to be our favorite place for the amazing burgers. We would go 4 times a year.
Will not go back.
I called from MI to inquire about the parklet/covid seating. Was assured it was quiet and nice ambiance. We had reservations for 2. They tried to put us on the sidewalk table that in not covid friendly and just annoying to have people walking next to your during a ‘nice’ meal. They said the parklet was only for large groups. Had to use a credit card to hold the reservation. They finally gave us a parklet seating. Bench was hard and uncomfortable.
One glass of sparkling wine, fried little fish, 2 burgers came to $92. Fried little fish were anchovies which would have been good to know. There were disgusting. Burgers were $24 and pre covid were $18.50. Meat quality was not up to previous and very bland.
Large group of drunk noisy people next to us.
We sat at an outdoor table and were very impressed with the setup. Lot's of heaters! Everyone enjoyed there meals and the service was amazing! Get the fried chicken and the Monkey bread you wont be disappointed.
That fried chicken was incredible! The service was absolutely top notch, it was one of my first times dining in a nicer restaurant in the last year and it was such a lovely experience. Thank you!!!
Great outdoor dining with protection from wind and heating. Pork chop was outstanding.
It’s always good to go to NOPA.
We enjoyed a late night celebration at the chefs counter, the staff are in great spirits and the food has remained outstanding over the years.
Dined outside on a foggy and windy SF evening. Table had an overhead heater but that couldn't keep us from feeling chilly. Temperature steered us towards more winter-y dishes.
We started with a delicious goats cheese and blueberries served with a mountain of crostini and some delicious bean dish. For entree I chose the porchetta and kale. The meat was delicious and kale was dressed well. We also chose the fish stew with polenta. Again this was of a very high standard. The whole meal was wonderful but I'll try and get a seat indoors next time.
my sister and I would zoom and talk about what our post pandemic dreams were and eating at Nopa was top of the list. They have one of the most fully realized and beautifully built parklets ever. . .even the little side tables next to the parklet are kept warm by lovely, hanging pendant heaters that keep you and your food nice and warm. A HUGE shout out to the service staff. . .they do an incredible job under hard circumstances and the food never, ever disappoints. . .it is always excellent in every way. Nopa, we love you!
We’ve lived around the corner for a year and never stopped by, and we are so glad that we finally did! Such a cozy, fun and welcoming spot for casual dinner. Service was excellent, food was excellent.
As always, incredible food, great service, and a perfect atmosphere. We ate outside, which I was hesitant of, but they did a great job making the space feel cozy and welcoming. The pandemic has not tarnished the legend that is nopa, and the pork chop is as delicious as ever! Can’t wait to go back.
Our waiter was not attentive. He forgot to bring our wine bottle which we ordered when we ordered the food. We had to ask the buss boy to bring the wine when he brought the main course .
This is very unusual.
Nopa is such an outstanding restaurant! The food is incredible and the staff is amazing
Our server was an angel. The meal was perfection. So glad we made it in before our move!! 5 stars!
Another fantastic dining experience at Nopa! The food never disappoints and the staff is absolutely wonderful. To add to it the parklett is extremely comfortable and warm, although I am looking forward to sitting at the bar again soon!
Always delicious and perfect.for a special treat. We love this restaurant and are.always treated well.
Anniversary dinner was handled with grace and culinary expertise.
Fantastic, creative food, great atmosphere. Highly recommendec
Love the friendly and attentive service at Nopa and the food is always delicious!
Natalie was outstanding, Good quality and large portions of food. A bit noisy.
The food selections were innovative and the cooking was consistently excellent.
Wonderful waiter and the food was delicious!
The best restaurant in SF. Don’t hesitate, go now.
Love Nopa - always delicious. The Pork chop is truly amazing.
From the moment we walked in the Staff did not miss a beat.
The food was amazing... Chef came out to say “Hello”.
Birthday candle was placed... Perfection at its best!
Food was great, but our waiter was awful. Came off as extremely grumpy from the minute we sat down. For how expensive this place is, the service was disappointing.
Excellent food and service. Nopa has done a great job with the parklet - super well build and nice. The ambience isn't lost with outdoor seating. Outstanding food - super unique and delicious.
Amazing food and service
There was hair in our appetizers. This has never happened to me before at NOPA however we were eating outside and maybe the wind blew hair though we had two different types of hair in our food and neither was our own. We didn’t feel like we could tell our server Natalie as she seemed new and we had to wait a bit for things to come to our table even though folx that were seated after us got their same orders from Natalie on time.
Loved it! Thank you Nopa!
It was very chilly dining outside, not near a heater, otherwise it was an excellent dinner and service!
this is the only place to be! amazing work by the entire NOPA team. keep it coming!
love you all
Nopa’s outdoor parklet is beautifully designed and cozy even during cold windy nights. The service and food are outstanding!
Our server Natalie was fantastic answering all
Of our questions and with her wine recommendation. The restaurant did its best with outdoor options on a busy street. Each and every dish was special and delicious
