Beautiful big windows looking out over the street; hard to gauge the noise because it was a snowy day and the government was closed. Service was excellent although I would go for a lot less discussion about the food in the process of taking the order .
A great find next to our hotel (Kimpton Hotel Monaco)! We enjoyed the Chilean sea bass and short ribs. The server was very attentive and we had a great spot right by the window looking out at the National Portrait Gallery.
Great experience, over all. Different choices, depending on your mood. Cocktails were excellent, ambience was fab.
Service was awesome, food was awesome! Perfect restaurant for pre-museum. American Art is right across the street!
Food was good, beautiful presentation. Service was very good. Very comfy cozy space.
Good location for pre theater, sports. Food is good. Service was terrific and very understanding of needing to leave for theater.
Excellent food and service. Our waiter was especially attentive.
Outstanding brunch. Great, friendly service. Food was fantastic. The savory pancake with sausage gravy and eggs was a revelation. The bottomless mimosas were as advertised. My glass was never empty.
Short ribs were great! Good service. Great pre dinner happy hour.
Great food, Ms. Colleta was an excellent server that had great recommendations, always available, and a naturally nice person who enjoys her job. The food was superb with bursting flavor in every bite.
A pleasant surprise. The menu is Innovative and interesting but not overly long or exotic and has some classics that everyone will love. Nice selection of wines including some good by the glass and 1/2 bottle options. Attentive and Professional Service that is relaxed. The room is fancy enough for a business lunch but casual enough for romantic or friendly dining. This may be our new pre-theater spot.
All of the wait staff were personable and extraordinarily helpful, from the man at the greeting station to the busgirl. The food was interesting and tasty, with plenty of variety for a relatively short menu. The house made rolls were a huge hit with my companion who ate about six of them. I thought that the portions were a bit small on first glance, but they turned out to be just right. I will definitely return.
Loved every bit from the salad to the soup. The eggs were marvelous but the best was the cinnamon apples for dessert!
One of my favorites in DC. Great burgers, deserts, as well as healthier options and absolutely unbeatable price-quality ratio! Highly recommendable!
Best meal of the year for my wife and I. Our server M was great and extremely friendly. Definitely a go to spot for us for Caps games and beyond. Gotta have the sea bass.
Attentive service, limited menu, but explained and prepared well.
Our waitress made the awesome experience even better. She was friendly and outgoing. I also really liked how the staff worked together to make sure the diners experience was top notch. The food was delicious !
OMG, NoPa has just become our favorite DC restaurant. The drinks were creative and great, the starter, the entree we shared and the desserts were all great, really great. At each stage of the dinner we remarked to each other that NoPa was really a find. And we eat out quite a bit. The server made our evening from start to finish with guidance throughout.
I will come back here for a romantic dinner, pre-theater dinner (which was our occasion) and for a business dinner. The tables are spaced out enough to give you some privacy and there are some interesting back rooms for small groups. We're spreading the word among our friends.
This is not my normal review of any restaurant. I don't normally rave like this. But this place deserves it.
We went to NoPa for the first time as a party of 6. It was a splendid evening, the waitstaff paced the dinner well, our party enjoyed signature cocktails, then salads, then dinner, then dessert. A great wine list. I had the Bibb salad with chicarrones and anchovies, well dressed, crisp, and substantial. And the short ribs were splendid, a goodly but not crazy gigantic portion, perfectly cooked, well sauced, with matched veggies. Everyone else happy with their various starters and entrees. Very much appreciated the service, only negative were the serveral loud parties nearby - ultimately they cleared out for a better experience, but not the fault of the restaurant.
Really liked this place. Food is delicious but definitely geared toward an adult palate. There is no kids menu. Fun drinks. They were very accommodating for an allergy in our group. There was a lot of food but it was pricey. We'll go back, but with foodie adults only.
Frustrating: Insisted we put money down for reservation but didn't mention that this also required price fixe for valentine's. Then said we could sit in the "lounge" instead to avoid price fixe if we wanted (which is a bar) where there were just a few stools. So sat in main restaurant. Then restaurant had gall to include $8 sides on the price fixe menu. Just cheezy. And put us at a table with maximum foot traffic and bouncy floor. Food ended up being quite good and the waiter good, but the whole thing left a bit of bad taste, so to speak.
The food was top 5. The scene was nice. Our particular table was less than ideal. The entrees were so, so good. Chilean sea bass (I know, I know) and waygu beef short ribs delivered more than the next level flavors you expect from the ingredients.
This was our 4th visit to NoPa. We just love this restaurant and think it is one of the best in DC. The food is always amazing as well as creative drinks!
The staff is top notch and the food was excellent!
Service was amazing. Our waitress was very professional and friendly. She genuinely seemed happy to help us and we were very happy to have her. Great location for date night
Great ambiance with exposed brick, large windows and tables spaced very comfortably. A member of our party was running late and the wait staff was great about not pressuring but checking in with drinks and appetizers as we waited.
Three of us shared an appetizer. Two of us thought the bread used was a mistake. We commented about that mildly -- mainly as a suggestion to the chef. Amazingly, we not charged for it.
My daughter and I ate dinner here pre-theater. Food delicious and creative. Cocktails excellent and crafted. Server named "M" wonderful. She made suggestions and explained dishes which were very good. It wasn't busy at this time of day on a weekday, so we felt pampered. Plenty of time for a full meal before the play.
I rarely eat every single thing on my plate - but the Chilean sea bass and all the accompaniments were delicious. Worth the price! Ditto my partners salmon.
We visited this restaurant on Saturday for dinner. We ordered Spicy Chicken Meatballs and Shrimp Soup. Both were delicious. Since we were three and ordered only two appetizers, they split the soup in two and served separately. For main entree we ordered Salmon on a bed of vegetables, Beef Short Rib and Seabass on a bed or rice. Colleta, our server, mentioned that it was a deconstructed Congee. Even though all three dishes were excellent, Seabass was best. The portion size was very satisfying and by the end we were full to have any dessert.
Dinner with my cousin visiting from out of town. She had the chicken; I had the sea bass. Both dishes were excellent. We shared the roasted brussel sprouts and were not disappointed. Our waiter was terrific. we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Food was not good
I liked the ambiance a lot, and the location, near the Verizon center, was perfect. The food was pretty good, too.
had a delicious and imaginative shrimp salad. only problem was they must have dropped in a hot banana pepper.. way too spicy.
Tables were wonderfully spaced.. able to have good conversation. will return and tell them to skip the hot peppers...
NoPa never disappoints. Even when you're on a special 'diet cleanse' (me: The Whole30), i was able to have a tasty meal. (It was really hard to skip those comp biscuits however!)
We enjoyed the food. Space is very nice. Service was great.
IMHO, this seems to be a step down from the restaurant formerly called Zola. The meal did not meet my expectations. It's not that the food was almost very good, it's that the food was odd in some way. I had a pork sandwich, for example, that didn't seem well thought out: was it pork, ham or did it want to be beef au jus? I really don't know. The salmon rillettes didn't have the feel of being held together by fat but more like mayonnaise.
Really nice flakey, buttery rolls, however!
Great place for a business lunch. Easy to hear and great food, reasonably priced.
We were a party of 5 for Restaurant Week...excellent food, service and very quiet ambiance.
Excellent restaurant for pre-theatre dining. Great service, good food, pleasant surroundings and valet parking.
