NOORD eetcafe is a classic BYOB bistro with a Dutch and Northern European focus. We feature locally farmed produce and meats whenever possible; served in a relaxed friendly setting. All breads and desserts are made in house. We also smoke and cure our own fish and meats. We want you to feel like you are coming to our home for dinner...and you bring the wine.

Noord Ratings and Reviews
Noord has become our special place when we want a date night or if friends come to town. It is consistently great and we have never been disappointed. Their grilled bread is truly delicious and everything, from the regular menu items to their specials is always cooked to perfection and plated beautifully. Always always great service.
Wow! What great, inventive, absolutely delicious food perfectly matched with great service. The bread is heaven, appetizers varied and creative and all four at our table raved about their entrees. And dessert - don't miss it. It was a wonderful evening and we could not have been made to feel more welcome. Louis made our evening more special. We highly recommend Noord and will be returning again.
Dining at Noord for New Year’s Eve was one of the truly best dining experiences we have had. The food was imaginiative and delicious. The staff was welcoming, accommodating and most attentive without being at all overbearing. In speaking with the owner, Joncarl, during the meal, it is clear that they have achieved his goal of having great food in a welcoming and relaxed setting. We will look forward to returning.
As always, Noord delivered on a great dining experience. The food was tremendous. Our party of 6 had a variety of dishes from trout, snert and mussels. Being a BYOB is an extra bonus. The staff is tremendous, in fact the owner, JonCarl walked me over to the local Bottleshop to pick up an extra bottle of wine! We will not let as much time go by before the next visit.
The service was exceptional! Always a wonderful experience to converse and be served by the owner!
The food from appetizers to dessert was delicious.
We started with pork coquettes. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the special seafood stew. I ordered the rabbit leg which was cooked to perfection. We ended with almond cake with whipped pudding and cranberry bread pudding.Highly recommend and can’t wait to return to taste the other menu items!
Noord was a friendly and accommodating experience that propelled those familiar with the cuisine of the region back in time to those experiences. We had an Open Table reservation, which we were able to adjust to a much earlier time. Staff was friendly without being cloying and dishes were delicious. It highlights a beauty of Philadelphia, delightful dining experiences in neighborhoods that allow visitors to experience the city without chain-store restaurants!!
House smoked fish salads piled high on toasts. Autumnal brisket stew tender with roasted red potatoes and thick, delicious carrots.freshly pickled cucumbers and delicate whole leaf lettuce with robust mustard sauce. rich and gooey bread pudding with stunning cinnamon bun / cheesecake - style icing. Soft hunk of rye bread with warm melty butter pre-meal. Intimate, but loud. Not a bad thing because it allows you to feel free to laugh and holler even tho it’s small and fancy it has the feel of a nice pub room. Aesthetically pleasing paintings of trees and roots on the walls. Fantastic location. Heaping piles of food. Unique. Will return from time to time to rediscover and revisit the menu and the chef’s incredible vision.
Each time I eat at Noord I find myself thinking how lucky Philadelphia is to have Chef Joncarl Lachman and his team at Noord in our city. Delicious Dutch, Scandinavian and Indonesian specialties, all seamlessly presented. Everything about this place, including the service, is superb.
This is a great pick for dinner. There were four of us dining and we all loved the atmosphere and food. The service was warm and friendly, attentive throughout the experience. Our only disappointment was no room for dessert, so we will return. Even more fun because it’s a BYOB. Go, it’s great!
The menu has just been expanded - not that it was necessary - so my wife and I went on a search. We were rewarded. We shared a potato au gratin with apples appetizer, I had seared scallops with caviar over sweet potatoes dressed with bacon crumble, and my wife had beef brisket with red cabbage. Each was a mouth-watering delight. Robert and Jon Carl have made this restaurant the place to be for adventurous, pleasing dining. If you haven't dined there, you are missing a delightfully satisfying meal. The service is attentive but not overbearing and the prices are reasonable.
We have been to Noord many times and we love the food, but I guess we have never been there on a Saturday night. We had to wait about 40 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. Staff was very apologetic. It was also extremely noisy. I know we will return many times to Noord, but probably not on a Saturday night.
