As someone with lots of food allergies, I wanted to try Nook to see if I could have a comfortable dining experience in Indy.
I have found my new favorite restaurant!
The staff was attentive and caring but did not make me feel awkward at all.
The food was fantastic and everything we tried was delicious and expertly paired. Bravo!
Like Paleo. Food needs help. Bland. Not a lot of flavor
The food was terrible
I was blown away at the menu! I eat gluten free and dairy free and I was able to eat an appetizer, main meal, and dessert!
Everything was delicious! I don't know what they cook the brussel sprouts or the sweet potato fries in, but it was amazing! Try the avocado mousse if you have room.
It was refreshing to go to dinner and not worry about ingredients. I have been recommending this to all of my friends!
$12 for one taco. That is bland. No seasoning whatsoever. Would it hurt to put a small little salad on the plate just for presentation and to help the $12 price? 4 people dined, four different entrees tried, and one appetizer. The only thing with flavor was the shot of oil to start the meal.
We were in Indianapolis for convention and the 4 of us are gluten and dairy free. We had so many amazing choices that we were in heaven. The drinks and food were delicious. Great service too. An excellent choice!
This is wonderful restaurant for those who choose to try eating clean and the options are all very good! Portion sizes were adequate and service was very good. Highly recommend.
Went here because my GF is on a keto diet, and while I am not there were a good number of things on the menu that looked really good. Tasted good, at a fair price and fair portion size. Would recommend to anyone especially someone on a Paleo, or keto diet.
A real gem! Will return often! Great menu selections and fantastic food!
Excellent Paleo and Whole30 menu. Our server was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful regarding our whole 30 questions.
My husband and I went to this restaurant for the devour deal. For $30 a piece plus gratuity, we didn’t leave feeling like we received our money’s worth or enjoyed something we couldn’t make at home. The starter was bacon and guacamole. It was ok. I ordered the chicken and waffles and while the one small waffle was tasty the chicken was bland. My husband got the “lasagna” and he found the portion very small and very light with more vegetables and sauce than meat. The dessert “carrot cake” resembled the texture of pre-chewed food and it looked the same way. If I hadn’t spent so much money on the food, perhaps I would have enjoyed it but $70 for an average but over rated and at times bland meal was not worth it. The service was great and the ambiance was lovely but I will not be returning.
The restaurant itself is casually elegant and the wait staff friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The server even had a master file of ingredients he shared with us. However, the food and its presentation were amateurish at best. The pistachio and goat cheese crusted salmon looked like the salmon filet was almost deep-fried, with a thick schmear of cheese and whole pistachios pushed into the cheese. No crust whatsoever. Other items our party ordered looked better but the chef really needs to up his/her game if this place is to survive.
Our experience was mixed. This was a group of 6 for lunch. While we were waiting for our food, the server told us it takes a while because it’s all freshly made, and that was fine with us. Then he dumped off the checks while we were eating and disappeared. We never had a chance to tell him that all the tacos were missing their sauces. The menu was confusing in that you could get just 1 taco for the same price as a taco, two sides and a cookie. Wth? Also, the almond flour tacos fell apart and did not hold their fillings. While I liked my lamb taco, I was told the angry chicken ones were not good. My friends’ pet peeve is food described as spicy that’s not actually spicy. The cookie was fantastic! I am willing to give it one more try, but I don’t think my coworkers are.
There was no air conditioning, our server wasn’t attentive, our food was cold, and when we mentioned the issues we had our server told us they couldn’t do anything.
After a Colts Game! Just what we wanted. Food and drinks were excellent. Bartender was excellent just working on speed in the kitchen we think!
We tried a new place for Devour Indy. Liked the Paleo concept. Would like to try other things on the more extensive menu.
The food was good but for the price I expected more. I am excited there were Keto options, which is very difficult to find in restaurants, and loved the flavors and quality of the food. However, the portions were disappointingly small. I do not expect large amounts of food, but I do expect the price to better match the quantity.
This was a very unpleasant dining experience from a food standpoint. We followed our waitresses recommendations since it was our first time there and ordered what was best and most popular on teh menu. Poke smelled very fishy and tasted the same. We did not finish it, which is atypical for us and poke. We left it on the side of the table anticipating a follow-up due to the small size of the portion - it sat there throughout most of the meal. The rest of the food came out at once despite ordering an appetizer. Bacon "chips" were flimsy and the complementing crackers were stale. The guacamole was moderately palatable but honestly that is difficult to mess-up. My goat cheese salmon was dry despite being asked to prepare medium rare. It looked like the cut has been frozen and there was a strip of connective tissue running down the center. The goat cheese overpowered every bite. The lasagna was fine, nothing exceptional or grossly unpleasant, but it was overshadowed by the unpleasant experience to that point. The texture and favor pf the carrot cake was likely a byproduct of the paleo approach to baking so we do not fault the restaurant for that not being up to par with the rich and creamy stable - but do not go in expecting that. The drinks were fine and not worth commenting on otherwise. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive but we cannot foresee ourselves ever returning. Thinking of that poke now and the lake of freshness to all the seafood makes me cringe.
Great dinning experience, enjoyed a wonderful dinner during Devour Indy! Will definitely return the service was a bit slow. Overall I found the food to be very tasteful and a pleasant evening with family.
The food was delicious, and there was an option for every dietary restriction. The service was great and the vibe was perfect for my girl’s night dinner.
The ambience was perfect, the food was delicious, the dessert was carrot cake and it was amazing! It was so nice to go somewhere to eat and I could choose from anything on the menu and not worry that it would go against my diet choices
Joshua provided OUTSTANDING SERVICE for a job above and beyond! Will return when back in Indy!!!
Nice concept in downtown Indy. Very fresh tasty and healthy feeling food. I would definitely go back
Oh my goodness! I found the Nook on another restaurant search app and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I was HIGHLY impressed the moment I walked in the door. From the sweet and witty hostess to the wonderfully attentive and patient server to the decor and delicious food, the entire night was a true treat. We invited friends to join us and it made me a bit nervous but from the moment we arrived, my doubts were erased.
This place is super classy and really intentional in its approach to food and its combinations. We ate the bacon chips and guacamole (heaven on earth), the Brussels sprouts (what is this dreamy sauce?!?), and I made my own paleo crust pizza and stuffed myself to the brim. Even the cocktails were amazing with healthy and fresh ingredients!! For someone like me with a lot of food sensitivities, going out to dinner can be a chore but this place made it so easy to identify what I could and could not eat with its well labeled menu. They even took the menu a step further and grouped the items by special diets! Keto, Whole 30, Paleo....who ARE THESE PEOPLE?!
I will definitely return. There is no question. Thank you for the amazing experience!!!
Omg. Gluten free, whole 30, vegan, low carb, whatever you need , they have it. The service is great, and it was a true “experience”. We learned of the health benefits of everything we ate and the taste was amazing of everything we tried
We wanted to try this new restaurant and a paleo type menu. Wasn't disappointed. Service was somewhat slow on a Friday evening, even though it was not full and no people waiting to be seated. Seemed short-staffed. Wine and cocktails were enjoyable. Entrees were as expected. Nothing savory or too exciting. But we enjoyed the evening and will recommend this restaurant to our friends.
I will definitely be back! The food was delicious and healthy.
Quiet with good interior decor. Great food option for those on GF, Vegan or Keto diets. Ok service.
Traveling with a non-traditional diet can be such a challenge. Nook really made my night! They were out of short ribs, which made me super sad but their burger was great, I enjoyed the almond flour tortilla “buns” more that I thought I would and the arugula salad was lovely with just a hint of citrus dressing. I liked it so much I went back for lunch! Some things to know: the menu is limited, the menu is the same for lunch and dinner, the Zinfandel was full-bodied, the food is delicious and well prepared, the staff were great. I hope this place thrives and the menu expands so there are more options.
Great place to eat food the way it should be cooked - healthy and fresh. Friendly staff and caring management team. Wish there were more of these all over the city.
We were attend the GenCon convention. Great food and service. Bad screaming child.
Enjoyed the food. The Angry Shrimp Taco was wonderful (if you like spicy). Had a great conversation with Olivia, the manager. Will definitely be back.
What a great meal! Such a great atmosphere and so easy to choose anything on the menu without worrying about restrictions! Will be back for sure.
We were here celebrating my birthday dinner with friends. The food was very good, but service was slow and not the professional level I would have expected for a higher-concept restaurant in downtown. Bar service was VERY slow (despite the restaurant not being very full). When we ordered a bottle of wine, they brought us a bottle 2 years younger (which we had to identify, they did not; apparently they were out of the exact bottle we ordered). Their remedy of a slight discount on a higher-priced bottle seemed underwhelming given we had a table of 4 ordering multiple courses and multiple drinks. All in all, a very nice meal in a nice setting. I hope their service can start to match the quality of their food for a truly consistent high-quality experience.
Had issues with our first visit - busy night for a new restaurant led to a bad food experience. Came back for a second visit and we were glad we gave it a second chance. Everything tasted great, service was attentive and helpful throughout the evening. Space is nice and quiet enough to have a good conversation at the table. Lots of interesting choices substituting items into traditional dishes to make them paleo / gluten free / whole 30 compatible, with everything laid out on the menu to help the choices. Overall a great experience and highly recommended.
I was on a round of Whole30 and was really excited to have options that I didn’t have to modify. My husband is watching his gluten intake, so he wanted their Paleo options. Neither of us were happy with what we had to eat, drinks were good-he had prosecco and I had kombucha. I had the Whole30 tuna option and he had the primal pizza on paleo crust. The seasoning on my tuna was overpowering and not something I would season tuna with, the sweet potato mash had no seasoning, and my favorite part was the guacamole-stuffed jalapeños, but overall, I was not a fan of any of it. It didn’t seem to go together. Husband thought the crust had no flavor and actually took flavor away from the tomato sauce. We wanted to love it, but it fell short of expectations. I read in other reviews we were supposed to have a shot of olive oil to start the experience off and that did not happen.
Atmosphere was good staff play is good but the food was sub par the pizza was better and the crust though probably have cooked correctly it was good but it was burnt overall food look pretty sounded good but was not executed well
The food and experience was very nice! However the whole thing ended rather quickly. We were in and out in 40 minutes after having an appetizer and our entrees. Definitely would recommend, but it is a bit pricey, so maybe only on special occasions!
Great service, great atmosphere ...very enjoyable. Highly recommend
Our food was so delicious, you forgot it was healthy. It was nice to be able to order from a menu and know it was made with good ingredients and not a lot of processed, filler foods. The presentation was excellent and we enjoyed every bit of it. I recommend sharing a bunch of different things so you can try more. Only thing they could improve would be the bar. They should have some Keto friendly drinks that aren’t loaded with sugar.
