Nonno's Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed the pasta dishes very much--fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the pizza oven was not working the night we visited (Christmas Eve!), so we weren't able to enjoy their pizza dishes. The soup of the day was on the rich side, and some of us thought it was too salty, but otherwise, we enjoyed our meal very much.
We were greeted at the door with friendly smiles. The service was outstanding as well as the food. I had one of three nightly specials. The cod was the best I'd ever had. My husband had chosen from the regular menu.
The wine list was nice.
The best part of the night was the quietness. The background music was enjoyable and did not overpower our conversation.
My friends and I had the opportunity to go to Nonno's Ristorante for a Birthday Celebration. There were 8 ladies. Massimo and Alvaro took wonderful care of us and the food was outstanding. We all felt very spoiled and pampered when we left. Our favorite part was when Massimo sang Happy Birthday to our Birthday Girl in Italian, and to the best of our ability, we joined in too! A fun time and we will be coming back soon.
We went to Nonno's looking to find a replacement for one of our favorite local Italian restaurants and we were not disappointed. The service was attentive and sincere, the atmosphere was delightful with a single musician playing softly in the background. My daughter had steak ravioli which was done perfectly, my wife had lasagna that was wonderful, and I had the lobster ravioli that was delicious! Moderately priced, I am already recommending Nonno's to friends.
This is my most favorite restaurant in the inland valley,,,,, Chef Luigi is wonderful, very personble and his menu is magnificent, we have dinned there many times and every time we walk away happy, full and with the thought of when are we coming back again, we have done a couple of his cooking classes which I have to say are awsome,,,,, we are waiting for the next class in janurary....
thank you Chef and your staff you treat us like royalty
Having just gotten back from Italy last month we were hungry for true Italian cuisine. We found Nono's to be the next best thing to being there ! Chef Luigi and waiter William gave us amazing service and the food, wine and dessert made our birthday celebration a special one. We found a gem in Nono's and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Italian food. We will be back again and again !
Let me tell you, the service was a ten plus, the environment another ten plus, the attention from the staff was a ten plus and the food was the best.
It was the best restaurant for our anniversary. Different from the normal and the same Italian restaurants in the IE. BTW, we aren't into Italian food, after traveling a lot to Italy. This is a great place and would recommend this place to all the beautiful people who are ready to live.
The atmosphere is very nice and the staff was pleasantly engaging. The service was excellent and the servers were always checking the table and filling glasses, etc. The food experience was excellent and was an unexpected pleasure with unique and creative specials off menu and a menu of full range of talian gastronomic experiences.
Nono's is a beautiful restaurant tucked away in Murrieta. Romantic lighting, live saxophone and best of all Sophia Loren movies silently playing in the background... Such beautiful nostalgia - and then the food arrives - Perfetto - Magnifico! Transports me back to Italian villages with homemade pastas, sauces, cheeses, wines and all delivered with impeccable service. This is a place you could propose! I am in love with Nonnos
Service was outstanding. Very attentive and knew the menu very well.
My wife is gluten free. There was GF pasta available and the Chef was willing to make several entrées GF. WOW!
Food was very good. Sauces were excellent. Pizza was great. Calamari was cooked to perfection.
It was one of our daughters birthday. The sax player came over and played happy birthday. What a great touch.
What a great overall experience. Will definitely be back.
We originally visited Nonno's because it was close to a theatre and we didn't know the area. We had a great meal! We went back with friends this time and the food was delicious, the wine was great, and the prices were reasonable. They even have some great discounts during the week that we may check out in the future. Lovely inside with attentive service, this is a keeper.
Luigi, the owner and chef, I believe, is a gracious host. He greeted us and sat us immediately. The saxophone player would be a nice touch, however, because the restaurant is so small, the tunes overpowered our ability to actually converse. The waiter apologized for having to raise his voice to recite the evening's specials. The salad which had toasted bread in it was bland. The servings also seemed smaller than the first 2 visits. My husband said his spaghetti pescatora? was nothing special. That said, the prices are fair and we enjoy supporting independent restauranteers.
We will go back but try to sit further away from the music.
My husband and I took another couple to dinner to celebrate a birthday. The fried calamari appetizer was great -- rather than the small strips you usually see, they slice the calamari a little wider and the result was delicious. We also had some kind of fried artichoke appetizer that was yummy.
For entrees we had linguine toscana, mare di monti, gnocchi, and veal marsala. All were great. The pasta is presented well -- the veal marsala was served with potatoes rather than pasta and wasn't quite as good as the pasta dishes. Limited wine list but what they have is great. We had creme brulee and cheesecake for dessert -- really good.
I was pleasantly surprised that a restaurant in a strip mall would be so nice and comfortable. I wanted the swordfish but they were sold out sobi had the steak which was very good and hot. We were a little weirded out by the servers ear lobes where he clearly had Gage's (spacers) in his ears while not at work and that left behind holes in his ears, strange for a nice restaurant. His service was very good though. I will definitely return.
After a long day of wine tasting, this place made the day complete. The atmosphere was so mellow and relaxing. The saxophone player they had Friday night gave the place such a romantic feel. The service was great at well. Waiter was super friendly and attentive and our glasses were always full. The food was delicious but not as amazing and satisfying as the tiramisu I had for dessert. If I went back I think I would order a cocktail, a slice of tiramisu and just sit back to enjoy a relaxing evening.
Deleccious food and friendly staff. The manager/owner came around to our table a few times, to make sure everything was correct and we were enjoying ourselves. The only reason I rated the noise level as I did, there is a live saxophonist on the weekend. He is quite good but can be a bit loud.
The food was fantastic. You could tell it was the Chef's own talents bringing unique tastes to the meal. I can't say enough about the food. It was my first time there and it won't be my last! I'm telling everyone about this restaurant. Can't wait to try other things on the menu.
While not the fanciest place in town, the atmosphere is nice, the service provided by William was excellent and the food is terrific. While the menu offerred chicken parmigiana I really wanted veal and asked server if that was possible. His first response was no, but then, on his own, checked with the Chef who obliged and made an excellent veal parmagiana for me. Enjoyed the dinner and the local atmosphere.
My wife and I "found" Nonno's through Dealpalooza, if I recall, and what a great surprise it was. The service is always very good, timely without being overbearing. The food is excellent --- my wife raves about the cioppino. I have tried several different dishes there, including lasagna and chicken parmigiana -- both excellent. However, on my last visit I tried a dish called Tagliatelle Mare e Monti, which has shrimp, scallops, mushrooms and shallots in a sherry creme sauce --- I think it might be my new favorite. And if you have room for dessert, the cannoli is highly recommended (even if you don't have room for dessert....get it!!). All in all, a great dining experience and one I truly think you will enjoy.
