About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Romantic
  • Good for special occasions
Nonno's Italian Bistro is the newest B YOB addition to dining in Bradley Beach. Serving traditional and authentic Italian cuisine.

We are a family-owned restaurant using recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. These recipes have been perfected for years at home by Nonno himself, co-owner Johnny Falco, and are now presented to the public by co-owner and executive chef Nick Falco, who is a graduate of the world's premiere culinary college, The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.

EVERYTHING on Nonno's menu (including the pasta) is made fresh!

Buon Appetito!

I went to Nonno’s Saturday night with my girlfriend. I had driven by it many times, but never thought to go in. Was looking for a restaurant for a late dinner and this one popped up in my search! I started reading the reviews and was blown away. We decided to give it a try. What a great decision!! The restaurant in warm and friendly as was the staff. Gil was our waiter and he was extremely helpful and nice. We had the meatballs for an appetizer which were incredible; they were moist and extremely flavorful. I ordered the homemade pasta in pesto and my gf ordered the chicken parm. Both meals were wonderful. Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert which also looked amazing. We enjoyed it so, I much went back Sunday for gift card for a birthday present! Can't wait to go back! 5 Stars for sure and its a BYOB - great combination!

As always the food was delicious, and Cliff our waiter was great! I had the grouper scampi, and my husband had his favorite tripe Pomadora. Wonderful family owned restaurant. I would highly recommend!

It was my 1st time there and it was a wonderful experience. I was greeted immediately and brought to my table. James took care of us and when I say that he really did. He was working several tables but never did we have to wait for our appetizers food or dessert. He checked on us several times To make sure everything was fine. This is not your typical Italian restaurant with the same old menu items. The food was outstanding and original and kudos to the chef. I would highly recommend this When in the area or take a trip for great meal and great atmosphere. And again the service was 2nd to none.

Our waiter/host James was personable, knowledgeable, attentive and engaging. He could easily hold his own in top tier restaurants in NY or other major cities. However, the rest was a disappointment. Food: We both ordered pasta dishes with seafood, which were drenched in far too much olive oil and garlic to be enjoyable. Salads were just okay. Decor: a throwback to Frank Sinatra's era, with white table cloths and black lacquer chairs, felt like Frank could walk in any minute.

James the waiter provided great service. Good food, great service, clean vibe, nice specials. Byob, is always a plus. FYI, if you don't like salt let the waiter know.

I am incredibly disappointed. We chose Nonno's because of all the reviews but it's really NOT worth it. At first, this woman - prob owner - sat us down and was very nice but then she disappeared the rest of the evening. Their menu is very limited but written on an incredibly large page, which was weird. Keep in mind we were 1 of 7 tables in the entire place, it was beyond empty - they only had 1 waiter and 1 busboy. We tried to order fried artichokes for app but was told they ran out. If you are going to have a limited menu, at least have all your options! So we got the stuffed artichoke which was beyond bland. We had to add salt and pepper and lemon and it was OK. I ordered the cavatelli w sausage and broccoli rabe and my wife ordered their half roasted chicken. My pasta was so incredibly dry - there was NO SAUCE. My wife's meal was supposed to have potatoes, when we asked the waiter he said "We ran out of potatoes, come next week I'll give you double potatoes" Are you kidding me? How do you run out of potatoes? And if you did, how hard is it to run to the store OR even give instant? & when my wife said we were from out of town, the waiter was so surprised and acted like a jerk - like are you kidding me? It's summer weekend down the shore!?!?! Lots of people come in from the city!! At least they could've apologized or offered us desert. He promptly disappeared & was hard to track down after. Also the chicken was undercooked and the skin wasn't even seared, it was so pale. DO NOT COME HERE!!! This place has been having problems, we spoke to many people we met at bars etc in town and they've all said they are having real problems and wondering why they are even still open. Just don't even bother wasting your money here.
