Nonno Tony's Seafood Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
We went after viewing the menu on line but found that the menu had been "reduced" and the dishes we came for were not available. We had a 5:30 reservation and we were the second table filled, yet we were told that the special was sold out and two of the five draft beers on the drinks menu were not available. Our server was embarrassed and we can't hold him responsible but it almost became comical. After we found an entree of redfish. We were told it would be red snapper and then later that it was actually salmon. I guess it's all red, right?
Crispy Artichoke app was 6 small breaded/deep-fried chunks of artichoke hearts with the same amt of crab meat down the center. It was priced at $15. WAY over-priced. Our order of fried shrimp arrived cold, shrimp were not seasoned; bland and over-breaded. We had been to this restaurant a few years ago and it was amazing. I’m not sure what happened. Will not return, and will not recommend.
The server brings complimentary bread & olive oil to the table at the start. Appetizer and dinner came a little too quickly together but on the plus side, not a long wait for food. My husband really enjoyed our Seafood Sensation Alfredo. I didn't care for it but it was just my preference because of the lobster taste.
Upon arrival we were seated no problem as we also had reservations. We visited during the week so it was very slow, with few tables occupied. After being seated and waiting about 15 minutes, the waitress finally came over to take our drink order. The waitress returned about 15 minutes later with my wife and daughters drink, forgetting to place mine. We had questions about the menu and the waitress was unsure about our typical questions, so we asked her to find out. After 10 minutes I went to get her, and her comment was "sorry but we are busy", mind you I saw her off to the side talking to another waitress and only 4 tables were occupied. I asked her if she had a response on our questions, and she stated "not yet". I also asked her about my drink and she stated, "I'm going to place it now". I immediately informed her that were leaving. I left money on the table and exited the restaurant. The service was very poor, and the time it took was extremely slow, especially for an establishment with only 4 tables occupied.
Pam our server was very attentive to us. I had the Linguine with Clam Sauce and was the one of the best I have ever eaten anywhere even it Italy. The pasta was al dente, perfectly seasoned, simple white wine garlic sauce and the clams were nice and tender. When the plate came to the table it was nice and hot -- no waiting from the time it was prepared to the table. My husband had the Seafood Sensation Alfredo which he thought was wonderful as well.
I had the Fresh Tuna Salad Sandwich which is a Yellowfin tuna steak on ciabatta. The tuna was overdone and tough. My husband had Chicken Parmesan. Parts of his meal were too salty and other parts were flavorless. The bright spot is the wait staff. They were friendly and efficient.
We had a large party and were the firs table to be seated at 7:00 pm. Although the waitress forgot our appetizer order, the food was fantastic and we were later glad that the appetizers were forgotten. The restaurant filled up at 7:30 and the service suffered after that. Despite the service issues, the food was very good and we would return again.
I love this restaurant. However, this time found me disappointed. Our server was lacking experience or ability. She was not familiar with the menu or the liquor selection. Our order required several requests to make it right. The food was for the most part excellant, the only flaw was the chicken Parmesan was over done. I wish the wine list complimented the food better.
We'll be back, just with lowered expectations.
Overall quality didn't stand up to the neighboring competition next door. The artichoke appetizer was creative and very good; both entres were only average and the bread pudding was quite poor. My wine choice (which I enjoyed) ran out and another wine (much less quality) was given to me as a "re-fill".
We had a lovely lunch during restaurant week but were pleased to see that they offer the same good value every lunch hour during the week. Our waitress was lovely and full of life. The salads came quickly, but the meal was a little long in arriving for some reason. Not a problem for us retired folks, but might have been if we were heading back to work. The food was very delicious: chicken parm and shrimp & lobster tacos for the two of us preceded by a lovely Greek salad and followed by a tasty slice of carrot cake.
Initial service was very good for awhile. Then two large groups were seated on either side of us. Our service just stopped - it seemed that the restaurant decided to focus on serving the two large groups and forget about us. After a long time no one had taken our order so I had to go to the manager and request such. A waiter then took our order. Then no service while the other tables were served their orders. After awhile of still no service I had to go again to the manager ask for our orders. More time passed and the two large groups finished eating and left. Right after that our food was delivered. At least one entre was cool (appeared it had been sitting out for awhile). Complained to the Manager and she apologized and comp'd the cool meal and said the General Manager would call me the next day and make amends. They have complimentary parking and when we finally left we were charged for parking because we had stayed longer than 3 hours - amazing and stupid! BTW, the General Manager never called me.
We ate here n New Years Eve and had reservations and were seated very quickly. Our server took orders promptly but never offered water to those with adult beverages. We should not have ordered our entrees until we were done with our appetizers. Entrees came out while we were still working on appetizers. We felt very rushed and there were plenty of tables. We had three people order meatballs. One person had an entree for turkey meatballs and the other 2 had orders of single meatballs. The orders were mixed up. The server brought us our check, the restaurant was still not busy and never offered us dessert or coffee. It was very hard to pass the dessert display especially since we were handed check and not offered dessert
We came for a Christmas Lunch for sister-in-laws on Wed. Just the right time of day and the
menu was perfect. The $10. menu has the best salad offerings with ample food. Then your special of the day entrée was just right. The blackened red fish was so tasty and came well done and hot. We could not have asked for better for our guests. Just a note, all of at the table are BOI's from long ago. So we appreciate having these little restaurants along the harbor. In
our time, no restaurant's were on the harbor. Your service with cloth napkins is just so right.
Keep up your menu and good quality. BW
The restaurant was out of bread. The restaurant was out of the most expensive Pinot Noir. We substituted for a lesser priced wine. We ordered a ribeye steak. They were out of the ribeye steak. We agreed to a substitute steak. The steak came and we asked for steak sauce - they do not have steak sauce. We asked the waitress for a steak knife - we did not get it until halfway through the meal - she "forgot" about the knife. The meal and wine with tip was over $140, and I expect more from a restaurant of this caliber.
The waitress said she was tired, working a double shift. With only three tables late on a Sunday night, the service should have been spectacular - it was not.
