Food excellent, but room noisy, service inattentive/slow.
Not too busy for a Wednesday. Super cute ambiance inside! Had amazing vodka rigatoni, would recommend. Drinks were good as well!
Another wonderful meal!
A piece of plastic was in a salad. The halibut was overcooked and dry.
Service and food were excellent! Had 7 people in our party and every person was happy with their meal!
Wonderful lunch! Great cocktails too!
Restaurant is a very nice bistro setting, it was busy and our waiter had his hands full. He was helpful with our food choices and very pleasant. The food was good and the atmosphere was fun and lively. We had the the halibut special and shared the peppers with sausage and a nice salad. Very pleasant experience. I will definitely return.
This was our third visit. We once again enjoyed a great meal. Each us had different dishes. The sommelier was very helpful in recommending a fair priced bottle that complimented our various mains. This was the second time we encountered our waiter. Again his service was excellent. We returned based on our prior experiences. We will be back.
Great restaurant (taste, service, ambiance). Manager and wait staff super nice. Rodrigo our waiter took great care of us and even remembered the drink we enjoyed from a previous visit.
Great meal, great service, lovely setting.
Another excellent dining experience. Great food and service. Many vegetarian options. Highly recommend.
Our server Rodrigo was phenomenal! The food was amazing and the ambiance was great! I had the Gnocchi and my partner had the 4 cheese walnut honey pizza. Both dishes were delish! Will definitely be returning.
We had a lovely experience celebrating our daughter’s 8th birthday. Our server, Rodrigo, was kind and attentive to serving children at a typically later dinner time for our family. He helped select a meal they could share including the “green” fettuccine noodles the kids are still talking about tonight. The spaghetti and meatballs were amazing as recommended by friends. We will definitely aim to visit again!
Food, drinks, and service was fantastic. The server even brought us champagne for our anniversary.
Great ambience food was bland and nothing special. Rigatoni needed much more sauce and the pizza crust tasted soggy and had no flavor. Waiter was nice and brought a free tiramisu for my birthday that was pretty good. Overall I wouldn’t come back as the food was meh again but the atmosphere was so pretty.
If your passion is Italian good this is not your place. The menu is average- creative leaps miss the mark. Design and Presentation are also confusing. Tables outside wobble and sweat. Plastic surfaces and plates are slippery and mid- proportioned as are the menu items. Everything looks good from photos are far away, but freshest ingredients are not used. Pastas are sticky and damp, seafood is not fresh. Two/four bad mussels can ruin your dish. Squid ink pasta had a strange greenish hue. Service was cordial but uneven. Pick somewhere else if you are looking for a depth in flavor and careful preparation,
My first time at this wonderful restaurant. Certainly not my last.
Food was outstanding. It was a tough decision on choosing, and I was only choosing from the vegetarian items! And after that dilemma, which awesome dessert?!
Service was equally outstanding starting with a warm welcome by the manager.
On this beautiful day we sat outside the restaurant at our table-with-a-view (people) shaded from the bright sun by a big umbrella and enjoyed delicious meals of pasta and fish. We are never disappointed with the food - always fresh and well-prepared. The staff is so attentive and friendly that they certainly add to the pleasure of the meal. We will return.
We were one of the last tables to be seated for the evening shortly before closing, but our server was barely around and didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I understand he wants to end the evening, but we are still customers that should be valued and deserve good service.
The service and the food was great but our table was close to the busser station and the area our table was in was overall just too loud, I could barely hear the other people at my table
Was just there August 26 for a Birthday dinner 7pm. Ambience is cozy and pretty, noise level high. Service outstanding! Our waiter Rodrigo was on his game and so was management who stopped over to check on us! Drinks delicious but strong if you like them that way. Faccocia and olive oil to start, it was good ! We had 3 appetizers they are small, meatballs dry and needed more of their amazing Italian sauce on them, that sauce would be so good on pasta! polenta with pork belly was good, grilled octopus over cooked. We had kale salad and burrata with prosciutto, kale salad was excellent! burrata just okay didn’t come with anything to spread it on. Our 3 entrees were total duds!! Sticky and dry needed sauces! Pasta carbonara, Paparadelle with short rib and risotto with salmon. The risotto was inedible they mixed chunks of salmon in a glob of sticky risotto, tasted was horrible. The other two dishes were sticky and dry as well. Rodrigo brought a piece of Taramisu with a candle which was actually delicious ! The manager and Rodrigo came over without me requesting and listened to our critiques patiently and took the entrees off the bill which was a very nice surprise! I give them 10 stars for their service and professionalism for sure !
I think this was my third visit to Nonnina. The standouts for me each time have been the Lidia (their version of an old fashioned) which goes down like ice tea; and the Kale salad (an elevated Caesar, with butternut squash). The Frutti Di Mare is also delicious.
The servers didn’t bring the pasta display to the table—I assume that’s due to COVID—but service was as attentive and friendly as ever.
EH on food. Not the best food flavor or quality. I would not recommend
My favorite place to get Italian in Chicago. All the dishes are full of flavor and the service is always good.
Our service was great and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The cheese board appetizer was delicious but way overpriced. The food was also way overpriced for the quantity (lobster ravioli, only 4 pieces of ravioli) and quality (salmon risotto, too bland).
Celebrated my birthday at Nonnina’s and it was a wonderful evening. We chose to be seated in the bar room and Ramon provided friendly service from cocktails through dessert. Nice happy hour appetizers and drinks and Carbonara and Chicken Parmesan were delicious.
Wonderful sitting outside - great service l! Loved that they remembered our anniversary with a complimentary desert even though i did not put in the reservation - must be technology working Thru open table!
Food and service were outstanding. As always!!
I am here with some family for vacation and we decided to eat at Nonnina the first day and the food and the service was outstanding everyone was so nice and made me feel comfortable. We didn’t know where to eat for the second so we went back there and it was just as amazing as the first time. I would definitely recommend the Cheese Buger, Rigatoni vodka pasta, gnocchi, Salmon.
We at Adrián and Fernando they were so polite and helpful explaining the menu and the taste of the food! 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Food was great! Great outdoor seating. Salads were great and reasonably sized.
Really good food. Service was good, but I think understaffed. Would go again.
Both our appetizers and entrees were stellar. The service was exemplary.
I loved the service and our server….Food was super….Just like my Nona’s. The price was right too..
Our meal at Nonnina was adequate but not remarkable. Our pepper and sausage appetizer was very spicy as nd went well with the bread. My Caesar salad was better than my husband’s beet salad, which had more greens than beets. Husband reports his spaghetti with meatballs was mediocre. My spinach fettuccini was good and large enough to share. We did not have dessert.
Great food and great service.
Decent, affordable modern Italian. Not worth a special trip but satisfactory for a normal meal.
Good food and atmosphere, but a bit of confusion between the waiter staff members on which meals went where and covering the correct tables.
Otherwise, the food was exceptional and the area is perfect, so I’d go back but not for an important meeting.
