Waited 1/2 hour past our reservation

Service was wonderful as well as the food. Greatly enjoyed our experience and would recommend to anyone looking for good authentic Italian food.

We were on a sisters weekend, visiting Chicago for the first time. The food and service was so good, we cancelled other reservations we had at a different restaurant for the second night and went back again!

Wonderful restaurant. I found Nonnina on Open Table while in Chicago and was looking for an Italian restaurant. Definitely was very pleased. Food was delicious, service was outstanding, wonderful warm atmosphere. Cool bar!! All you have to do is scan the menu to get an idea of the wonderful choices!!

Superb pasta! Really enjoyed the evening.

My husband and I had a very fun date night here. Loved the atmosphere and very friendly, attentive service. The food was delicious and the cocktails and wine were excellent as well.
We have it on our list to return to in the near future.

My ancestry is Italian, and I was raised on Italian food. My husband (part of his ancestry is also Italian) and my cousin (yep, Italian ancestry) enjoyed everything about Nonnina. The food was obviously made with fresh, high quality ingredients. The menu was varied and creative, and included traditional dishes like fried zucchini flowers and braciole. I am a vegan who doesn't enjoy pasta. When I asked for the Mafalda pasta dish to be made with fava beans instead of pasta, the chef accommodated. It was excellent. My husband and cousin were very pleased with their pasta dishes, as the pasta is made fresh at Nonnina. The salads and appetizers were delicious. The service was very thoughtful and not overbearing. Even the valet parking was prompt. We will definitely return.

The food and service was amazing! We unfortunately were placed in a smaller room with two large parties that were quite loud. Regardless we would definitely go back for the food and extra kind service!

Excellent food, drinks, and service

Beginning to the end was perfect. Francisco was our waiter with help from Lucy and others. I cannot say enough about the experience. Enjoy!

Nonnina is a terrific spot for lunch or dinner, I've done both. Really good Italian food by a creative chef. Nice wine list and menu. Not too loud. Reasonably quick service. Fairly priced menu. great salads for lunch.

Our group had the Chicken Parm, Salmon, & Halibut which were all cooked perfectly and presented the most complimentary sides.

The pasta is always wonderful, as are the homemade desserts! We Highly recommend Nonnina’s!!!!

Love this restaurant! Have brought others here and each time they too have loved it. All meals have been excellent. We even went there for New Year's eve. Recently , there were 5 of us - all gave excellent reviews. our meals were Bucatini Carbonara, Mafalde ai Funghi "Trifolati", Halibut con Farro, Veal scallopine, Grilled Scotish Salmon. Service was outstanding - very attentive, especially despite the fact that there was a large group that came in and were seated in an enclosed area next to us.

My wife and I looked at all of the Italian restaurants offered on Open Table and we noticed that the menu looked reasonable so we took a chance and were wonderfully surprised on how good the food tasted. The waiter made a couple of suggestions for our dinners and we went with it. Both of us loved the selection. The glass of wine was fine but a little high in price. The atmosphere was crowded but everyone seemed to have a good time. Very attentive staff.

Food was decent, but ambiance kills it. There are plenty of much better Italian restaurant options in the city.

It was our first time here. I saw the 4.5 star rating and decided to give it a try. Super welcoming team. Loved the pizza and cauliflower side. Yummy. Thanks to all for the great service. We will return.

Second time back. Casual, yet sophisticated, and therefore very comfortable and relaxing. Fresh pasta and nice wine selection. Avoid the happy hour house wine, ugh!

Great food and service. Only strange thing was they had elevator music/bad jazz playing. I’d suggest better music-Italian in nature... would give more of a feeling like you were at nonnas for Sunday dinner.

The service was really good at the restaurant however the food was just average. Eggplant parmigiana was tough and I found the red sauce too sweet. The carbonara was just way too oily, I had to use some bread to sponge it up (I did not eat the bread). Last I had a sorbet that was full of ice pieces. Given there are so many choices in Chicago, I will not be going back.

Wow! What a great find. Excellent, real Italian food with the wait staff greeting you in a friendly Italian way. The restaurant is very pleasing and immediately gives you a sense of relaxation and allows you to enjoy the dishes. The food was superb! Fresh ingredients, good sized portions and regional Italian cooking.

I took my fiancé here for his birthday. Our service, food and experience there was phenomenal. Great place for a date or special occasion. Thank you!

Delicious food, fantastic service, and such an adorable ambiance. Right by the river, modern comfortable decor, but traditional and perfected Italian dishes. Will definitely be back!

For the price, and considering the local competition, the food was just a bit above average. The meatballs are very dry and tasteless....recommend other options. The service was a problem. We were basically ignored for a while. Then one of our selections was apparently misplaced or forgotten. For the money, there are better options in the area, both for food and service.

Incredible food and service

Loved it. Service was outstanding. Food was great. Can't wait to bring friends here. It was a little dark, though. Needed a flashlight to see the menu.
