Loved it! It’s our first visit to Chicago and this was our favorite restaurant...and we just tried it on a whim! Wonderful atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Amazing food.
We had a delicious meal during our visit to Nonnina. I had the veal chop special - stuffed with prosciutto, mozzarella and spinach and while it was $42, it did not disappoint. My spouse had a very flavorful pasta dish with duck. An appetizer of cauliflower was also delicious. Our only complaint was the service. It seemed everyone on the service team at the restaurant was in a hurry. We were bumped several times by the guy refilling the waters and our server wanted to take our order within 5 minutes of us sitting down. We received our appetizer before our glass of wine. And there was a noticeable feeling of people rushing around tables and through the restaurant.
All I can say is everything was first rate and the people we were with all agreed that it was the best overall meal they had enjoyed in Chicago for a long time. We will be back.
Front desk and setting staff were very rushed on a very busy evening; we felt their pain
We are ex-locals back to visit, my husband found this place and WOW, what delicious fresh pasta for a reasonable price with friendly and helpful service - Rodrigo was great and the food was fabulous - have already recommended it to our local friends and we’ll be back!
Nonnina became my favorite Chicago Italian restaurant a year ago and continues to remain that. It has the best buccatini I've ever had, the service is great, and they accommodate food requests. My only issue is that it's becoming too popular!
Service was very rushed!
My date told me the server was behind with
our entree right after being served our
appetizer. Don’t know if he was anxious to
turn the table over
We had a pre-theater meal recently. The grilled octopus appetizer was excellent. We also enjoyed the duck ragu and the swordfish livornese. I appreciated that the waiter inquired about food allergies, and was able to accommodate my dairy-free needs without fuss. We sat on the (enclosed and well-heated for the winter) patio which would be a lovely spot in the summer, and was festive and warm in the winter.
We are visiting Chicago and read about the history and ambiance of Nonnina. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was pleasant. The only thing that would have made it better was sitting at one of the red velvet booths in the bar! Looked so fun and intimate. We will return.
Food was very flavorful and the servers were very knowledgeable about the food and wine. An overall great experience and I will definitely return for business and personal meals.
The food was authentic and outstanding! Cappuccino was to die for!
Great atmosphere. My husband and I had dinner Prior to a show at Chicago Theatre - great location.
Great food. Excellent service
Food and service was exceptional! But restaurant was sold out of Big Fat Cookies which was the reason we went! :(
Excellent food and service
The soup should have been hotter but otherwise it was a good experience - the beet salad was fantastic
You will not be disappointed at this Italian Restaurant! One of the best, if not the BEST, in the city with all fresh pastas made daily. The food, drinks, atmosphere, staff and value is incredible. Highly recommend and will be back soon and often.
There is a big difference coming on a weeknight and coming Saturday evening. It's a very vibrant restaurant and bar. It can be quite crowded on the weekends. They were very accommodating in letting us order lunch menu items not on the dinner menu as well as delicious pizza. They have gluten-free options with meatier portions or gluten-free pasta with your desired entree. All were fantastic. They have an extensive wine menu as well.
High quality food and good selection of options to select. Nice and cozy atmosphere.
Great food, service, and portion size. Lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced.
We have been to Nonninas several times. The food is always amazing and the service is excellent! Everyone who works there is welcoming and friendly. Great dining experience!
Very nice dinner , very attentive service- nicely done menu
Would highly recommend
Unexpectedly good! Fresh pasta served in great atmosphere, Although we are tired of Italian this was surprisingly good.
Excellent food and service!
A great experience! The place accommodated more people that we had for our group (11 of us) and the service was amazing. This was a birthday celebration and it went smoothly.
Thank you. And to our server, he did an amazing job.
The salmon and pasta with fruit the mere were both very good.
Service was fantastic, Leo is the man, would go back just to see him again. Food was also amazing, just a great experience, highly recommend.
The food was amazing! Will definitely come back
Great time. Even put happy birthday on a dessert plate for my girlfriend!
Great wine list, polite attentive friendly service, nice variety of traditional Italian but with variations and specials. Romantic with no overwhelming music or bar TVs to spoil conversation (but does get lively when busy). Medium priced for downtown Chicago but fair value equal to the food offerings. First time but would go back with friends
Overall very satisfying. Delicious. Vibrant and a good mix crowd without the wait.
The food was outstanding and the attentiveness of the servers was just right for a delightful family dinner.
Wonderful! Great experience, great food, great service!
Great service. Awesome wine list! The appetizers were amazing. Highly recommend this cute place!
Great good. Homemade pasta is all excellent. LEONARDO our waiter was great in explaining and recommending dishes. The meatballs and braised beef was out of this world amazing.
overhyped. overpriced. don’t waste your time or money
Tremendous food, tremendous service. Great Valentine's dinner
We had an excellent meal
One of my favorite 'go to' restaurants that just happen to also be in my neighboorhood.
Delicious food, great service and a very pleasant atmosphere with terrific lighting...dim!
Family get together. Great, would definitely come back.
Duck Ragu: outstanding
sorbet: Passion fruit, made me miss summer!
