Great food and service. Nice variety on the menu and very enjoyable.
Amazing place. The food was outstanding! Madonna, that stuffed pork chop was perfection. Great cocktails and tiramisu. Perfect for pre-Lyric Opera dinner.
Lasagna was heavenly. Service is impeccable.
Have enjoyed this restaurant ever since it opened, whether for lunch or for dinner. the food and service is always first rate and the location is great.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review your experience! We hope to see you back very soon!
The best of the best. Been going here for 5 years since the day I moved to Chicago. Ubaldo at the bar is second to none. The entire staff is the best - and the food has no match.
Great last minute spot for a nice dinner Wi
Food was great! Fun cocktails. Atmosphere was charming, the volume was perfect, we could still hear each other.
Our waiter went out of his way to serve the beet salad and then divide it between our two plates at the table.
Very good experience, we’d go there again.
The atmosphere and service at this restaurant were both appealing and sensitive. However, the crab in my risotto, which was the daily special, was beyond its prime for serving. Most likely other dishes are fresher.
Didn't know what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. A lovely family owned establishment that I will be frequenting.
Thank you so much for checking us out! Can't wait to have you back
Always a great experience. We love that their pasta is home made. Wonderful!
We love it too! Thanks for coming in. See you back soon
Outstanding service, food, and ambiance. This restaurant is an absolute favorite!
Thank you so much for the great review. Looking forward to seeing you back real soon!
It was difficult to choose dinner, as everything looked delicious! When we did get to the food, it did not disappoint. The dinner was fantastic. The service was wonderful, and in all, this was an evening which we will long remember.
This is definitely on our “go to” list of great Chicago restaurants.
That's why you just have to order a little bit of everything! Hope to see you back very soon
Great food! And wonderful staff! Reasonable price too
The food was good, so was the service overall. My husband really liked his food and
Awesome. Food was outstanding.
Thank you for the review!! See you back soon
The best in food and staff, I eat here whenever I’m in Chicago. Love it!
Although we had a reservation we had to wait quite a while for our table, about a half an hour. While that was not so bad, we also had to wait quite a while for the bartenders to even acknowledge us although the bar area was quite empty. The High Point and only good point of service was we were brought to a table that was right next to the kitchen which would have felt we were on a grand highway with the waiters rushing back-and-forth. I asked for a new table and the manager kindly gave us one that was better. The food was ok, good not great And the octopus dish was very oily and I barely ate any of it. I should have sent it back. But the service was so slow and it seems our waiter disappeared. We ordered a dessert and it took well over a half an hour to get to us after our plates were cleared away but no one came back to see if we would like additional drinks, which we would have. We sat there for so long that I was seriously thinking we could just get up and walk out and no one would even notice. Not that I would ever dine and dash but while I had a great time with the people I was with I would not ever go back to this restaurant.
Nonnina was an incredible for Valentine’s Day weekend. The food was so appetizing, the staff were very humble and attentive, and ambiance was delightful.
I was told my table was ready then told it had been given to another guest. I waited nearly 50 minutes to get seated. No one was particularly interested .
NBA All-Star weekend, and the place was packed. Unfortunately, we were seated by the door, which was inexplicably kept open for half the meal, allowing an icy draft in every time a new customer came in. Pasta was definitely very fresh, but I was underwhelmed by both the minestrone soup and the fact that $22 bought 8 ravioli.
Very disappointed in the service, the wrong appetizer was brought to our table, the server was hovering over my father's shoulder acting very pressed to get his wine order taken. My father's meal was missing ingredients that were stated in the menu, his gnocchi was bland and there was too much butter swimming at the bottom of his dish. My meal was the duck ragu parpadelle, which the pasta was way undercooked and hard, the server never offered cheese or anything to go over the pasta and I found a duck bone the size of my pinky buried in the pasta. Our server also never asked how anything was, food was brought out, taken away and our check was delivered. VERY disappointing. My dad is visiting from out of town and always heard good things about Nonnina, our experience was less than fulfilling.
I had the pear salad. Never knew a salad could taste so good.
Everything was perfect...the restaurant ambiance, cocktails, appetizers and dinner!! We had an awesome server who helped make it a great experience also.....Natalia was the best!!!
Beautiful, charming Italian restaurant with high quality, authentic cuisine. The flourless chocolate cake with raspberry gelato was delicious and presented beautifully.
Valentine’s Day- Good was great!
Wow - our service was BAD. It felt like 5 people called out that night because EVERYONE was scrambling. The hostesses hated the world, the bar staff were an unorganized mess, and the waiter had murder in his eyes. The food was fine, but not great. The wine was good but took 30 mins to get it (literally 30 mins).
Will not be returning!
Natalia was amazing, food was great. Would go back in a second.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review! See you back soon
An early day valentines dinner- the overall setting was nice. Although the overall experience felt like it was lacking in quality for the price.
We enjoyed the corner booth for privacy, great service, wonderful food and great timing with the restaurant week special.
We arrived early and were seated right away. The service was some of the best I have experienced. Waiter suggested a bottle of wine that was perfect to what I asked for. Water glasses never went empty. The food came out quickly. Portions and flavor exceeded the price for the entrees. Overall a wonderful experience. The venue was loud making it difficult to have a conversation, but this was most likely due to the volume of people surrounding us.
Great place to celebrate Valentine’s Day. 👩❤️👨
Amazing from the moment we walked through the doors, until the last step out the door! Cannot wait to go back!
Out of the seven venues we tried during restaurant week, this was our favorite! The food was delicious!!
The service was prompt, friendly, and accurate. It was restaurant week, which may affect the way i rated "value," as I didn't read the complete menu. The pasta Bolognese was the best I've had. The panna cotta was light but very satisfying. The salad I chose (cinnamon pears, pecans, etc.) was a slight departure for an Italian menu and a little ho hum. All portions were generous. I will go back.
Food & Service were fantastic, especially Roberto.
Nice new Italian option for us
I love the food there and service is always great. One thing, I've been there a least 3 times in the past 3 months and I always order the same thing and I've noticed that it's not consistent. Food tasted the same but the it's always not exactly same as on the menu. I still love and enjoy but it's just not consistent.
Everything about this meal was fantastic. A group of us went for Restaurant week, but once we got there - none of us ended up ordering off of the special Restaurant week menu. Everything was delicious. I even ended up ordering a second pasta dish for myself. So good.
Visited during Downtown Dining week, and the options from that menu were superb. We can't wait to go back and try other options. We travel to Chicago every year during this week to experience different restaurants, and being Italian ourselves, we hold Italian restaurants to a higher standard, comparing to our own family recipes. Nonnina was amazing, food was hot, delicious, flavorful and Excellent. The Spaghetti Carbonara was better than the ones we tried in Italy. The Bragiole was fork tender and so good. And the desserts were out of this world. The panna cotta with raspberries = scrumptious. Also the Blueberry Tart was exceptional. The staff is very attentive and helpful. All around a very wonderful restaurant. Looking forward to our next trip to Chicago to experience Nonnina again.
