I couldn’t be happier with our experience at Nonnina. I am not exaggerating when I say it was by far the best Italian food I have ever had. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, will definitely be back.
Excellent service and great menu choices, and flavors
Really nice and good food, but very long waiting time.
Excellent as always..
Food was good nothing mind blowing. Pasta was delicious and made in house. The service was very friendly and attentive. The noise level was extremely loud and difficult to have a conversation without talking loudly.
Booked reservation for 6 to avoid crowds. Seated right away. Incredible food but slow service which led to lots of people waiting and noise level off the charts. I’ve been quieter at a Cubs game. Not the kind of level you’d expect from a fine dining restaurant. Loved the food but won’t go again unless lunch perhaps when not so overwhelmingly loud
super cool place. under the radar. sit outside for extra treat. good food. lovely service. highly rec. enjoy
Burrata and peach & fig salad were amazing. Ordered 20 oz ribeye, squid ink pasta and lobster pasta
We were guests at Nonnin this past Tuesday evening. There were 5 in our party. The restaurant was not overly crowded.
We were seated at a round table next to the door to the exterior patio. I would say the door opened/closed at last 200x during our 3.5hr dining experience. This was not pleasant and I would equate it to being seated next to the bathroom or kitchen door.
The food was spectacular. Great flavors and very well prepared.
The waiter was very intent on pushing the specials. Despite the restaurant not being overly crowded the timing between courses was very long. We waited 25 minutes between salads and pasta courses and nearly the same between pasta and entree courses. Once we ordered dessert another 20 minutes passed. We had made a 6pm dinner reservation but our overall dining experience was 3.5hrs. We were not slow eaters.
I had to ask for our waiter several times at the end of the meal to get our check.
I would not go back - unimpressive overall.
Food was incredible. Our entrees took over an hour to get to us so that was very frustrating but I think the ambiance and the quality of food overpowered that frustration. This place is probably packed on a weekend so I suggest coming when it’s nice and calm during the week. Also I highly recommend sitting outside.
Our family from Arizona liked it so much last year that we returned this year
The service was outstanding. I cannot speak more highly of how welcoming and helpful the staff is. It’s nice to do Italian downtown that won’t blow your whole budget.
Our server Mike/Michael(?) was exceptional- we ordered something off the menu and he didn't bat an eye to make it happen. Food was exquisite and the service was top notch. It didn't quite have the vibe of a high-end Italian restaurant in Chicago (which surprised me) but the meal was fantastic none-the-less.
Delicious food, authentic and creative, with creative and delicious cocktails as well.
Delicious food and good service made our birthday celebration a great one
Seated outside on a beautiful Saturday evening. It was surprisingly louder than you might imagine, but still OK. Food, service, atmosphere all outstanding.
Nonnina is absolutely amazing. It was so extremely busy when we got there. The only issue I had was that we made a reservation and were asked to wait around 20 minutes for our table. Luckily, there were seats available at the bar and we had delicious wine and cocktails. We ordered the prosciutto and fresh mozzarella appetizer, and was a little disappointed that it was small mozzarella balls instead of one larger one- but it still tasted great. We ordered two pasta dishes and they were absolutely delicious. I recommend the Bucatini Carbonara 1000%. Our server was great and it was a fun exciting environment!
Wonderful! From appetizer to entree to dessert - just great! Top notch service and wonderful location on the river. One of our favorites in the city.
Nonnina is at the top of my list of favorite Chicago restaurants.
Excellent food and service within a very pleasant ambiance.
Their outdoor patio's a pleasure to dine.
Just adjacent to our River Walk makes an evening stroll after dinner a breeze.
Wonderful experience & delicious food. Highly recommended.
The food was very good, but our server wasn’t attentive and rarely returned to our table.
It was a slow night so it was frustrating to have to corral our waiter to get another drink or order our entree.
I’ve eaten here before and consider the night an anomaly regarding service
Great Italian cuisine. Lovely little cozy table to celebrate a birthday. Ramon was our server! Attentive and delightful. We will be back!
This is the best and most creative Italian restaurant in Chicago. It never disappoints. The special English pea soup with mint was spectacular and the bucatini was perfect as always
I ordered some kind of pasta with prosciutto and peas. The pasta and peas were undercooked and the meat was very overcooked. I was with business colleagues so I had to suck it up but it was one of the worst dishes I've had in a while. Even my cat wouldn't eat it when I got home and he usually loves little meat nuggets I share with him.
This place has really gone down hill. There are plenty of other options in Chicago.
it was definitely worth it
I can’t say enough good things about Nonnina! It was our first time there and we will absolutely be back!!! Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service was phenomenal. I wish I remembered our servers name but he was awesome. Celebrated a special occasion & we were immediately seated in the private little corner booth, very romantic! The owners, or managers I’m assuming, we’re walking around the entire time we were there making sure every table was doing okay and came over twice asking us how everything was. We split a Caesar salad to start, ordered a pasta dish each & a side of meatballs to split. All amazing! I cannot wait to return and try more off the menu!
Sad to see Nonnina take a step down in service and food.
Rodrigo, our server, knows the menu and specials very well and made our evening delightful. Zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta, grilled polpo, delicious stuffed double pork chop, and phenomenal risotto with rib tips ragú. We didn’t think we could finish it all (very generous portions), but we did. Dessert was not possible—next time! We will definitely come back.
First time at the restaurant and the ambiance and the outdoor seating were both great. The food was also delicious and they got all of our food in time for us to catch our show. The service and waiter paid no attention to us whatsoever. I didn’t get a refill on my drink, he walked by us 15 times and didn’t ask of we needed anything. He didn’t even offer us dessert.
It was good, I’d come again but I’d never better service!
By far, one of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago. Absolutely excellent. Had Carbonara - while a very simple dish, it is incredibly hard to do perfectly. They fulfilled expectations. Everything was delicious, and well priced. Will return every time I'm in Chicago.
Service was Outstanding and Chef Miguel is Awesome!!!
Six of us enjoyed dinner on a Saturday night. Host and hostess couldn't have been more friendly. They offered us outdoor seating which worked out perfectly. Beautiful night and nice lights to add to it. Our waiter was more than kind. Wish I got his name. Busboy also super helpful and kind. We had meatball and baked clams apps, both amazing. For dinner what especially stood out was the chicken Parmesan and lasagne. Both highly recommended!
Love this restaurant. The food is consistently good. We had the Branzino it was delicious and a generous portion. Salads were fresh and the Pasta was great. Yummy biscottis and ice cream. Great place to relax and dine or before theatre dinner.
Amazing experience! David was excellent. We enjoyed drink, Christina and truffle pizza!
Bar service was below average. No attention from bartenders.
My food was average.
Management made an effort to correct issues. Bought a round of drinks.
Great food all around.
We stopped by Nonnina after reading reviews on how wonderful it was. Definitely was not disappointed! Absolutely amazing food, great service and atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.
Noninna's is one of our favorites, although it is fairly pricey for an everyday dinner. We kept our meal to sharing the Caesar salad, each of us getting a pasta entree, and a total of 2 glasses of wine (least expensive red) and our bill came to $73 before tip. Food & service are very good, but we watch the budget when eating out.
Fabulous food and amazing, authentic Italian food. We definitely will be back with family and friends!
