Great food and service.
The staff was very friendly and super accommodating. They made the occasion THAT much more special!
We were able to get a reservation the morning of our dinner. Had never been to Nonninas before but made our decision to go based on the reviews we read. Awesome pick!! Great food and staff. Will go again!
Food was delicious and very authentic, staff were friendly, knowledgeable and extremely attentive. We went as a group of 8 and didn’t feel like we had been squashed in anywhere, restaurant has a great spacious layout which made for a comfortable dining experience
What a great restaurant! We had a business lunch here and we were delighted by everything. Our waiter (don't know his name) was great... food was amazing. The noise in the room was just enough to be pleasant and the dining room was nice. We will definitely come back here- there are a lot of choices for lunch in River North, and this place definitely deserves their spot. Would highly recommend.
Best experience ever
Absolutely wonderful! I absolutely loved it! Will be back soon
New Year’s Eve dinner
The food was excellent and the service was great
Came here on New Years Eve - they were incredibly understaffed (one bartender, very few waitstaff) and the whole experience was pretty bad. Took almost 45 minutes to get drinks, our food took forever, and we ended up there for almost 2.5 hours... it was a really disappointing experience.
Great staff, excellent food, great environment.
Amazing food, great vibes
We had New Year’s Eve dinner at Nonnina’s for the second time. It was a little disappointing this time. My husband had the lasagna, which he said was nothing special. I had the chicken parmigiana, which was very good. We shared the Pera salad, which had the potential to be very good but was very heavily soaked in salad dressing, particularly the spinach. We shared a tiramisu for desert & that was excellent! Service was ok, but there were so many servers to assist the wait staff it was constant coming & going of different ones. I had a glass of wine but my husband was drinking sparkling water from a wine glass next to its large bottle on our table. Yet, when one server saw his glass was empty, he asked if my husband was having another wine, to which my husband said no, so the server whipped the glass away giving us no chance to intercept him. It took us complaining to another random server for us to get a replacement wine glass.
Had our New Year’s Eve dinner here and it was fantastic. Great service, yummy cocktails, large portion pasta. Just great.
You will not be disappointed!!! The food was awesome and authentic. I had the braciole and it was the most tender meat I have had in a long time. The pasta dishes were also tasty and flavorful. I highly recommend this place!!!
Amazing food and ambiance
service was excellent. Ambience was good. But Food was very expensive given the quality and quantity. They charged $10 for virgin mojito considering it is just soda water and mint. Also, we got the worst table which was at the entrance door.
The food was outstanding and the service was extremely speedy. The meatballs as appetizers were a home run; same with the fried rice balls filled with mozzarella. Today’s special was great as well!
Nonnina is an Italian restaurant that tries hard to prepare their dishes in the traditional Italian way, in other words "not americanized". In terms of portions, they are still very big, not like in Italy but one can order the pasta in the appetizer size which is the portion sized normally served around the world. I am from Italy and we like our pasta "al dente" , resistant to the bite, and this was not, but overall it was good, the sauce delicious. My husband ordered meat, which was not an enormous steak but a lovely, tender, juicy piece of meat seasoned and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately the baked clams I ordered were rubbery but the rest of the food was good and presented very nicely, plated to satisfy the eye, as well as the stomach.
Me and my roommate from college had dinner here to celebrate the holidays. Great meal. Friendly and attentive wait staff. Would definitely go again.
Delicious food, lovely wait staff and the best table in the room. Could have used a few more holiday decorations, but other than that, a special treat. Thank you for a wonderful Christmas Eve.
Had a wonderful experience at Nonnina for Christmas eve. My boyfriend and I both satisfied by service, food and everything except the carbonara we had was kind of salty. Other than that, we loved it. Definitely coming back!!!!
Everything was great! The food was all delicious and it was a perfect cozy spot for dinner with family.
Delicious wine but pasta was lacking compared to the rest of the city.
Every time my mom is in town from California she always wants to go to Nonninas! The food, service, and drinks are always great!!
Spaghetti Frutti di mare were very tasty. Service great. However extremely disappointing check in experience. Although we had made a reservations more than 2 weeks ahead, they tried to give us the worst table - in the patio outside in a makeshift tent directly at the road with road noise. Got a nice table inside the restaurant after we complained, but it spoiled the whole experience.
The service was incredible! They were extremely accommodating to our allergy restrictions and were very attentive. The food was delicious and the wine was as well. There were quite a variety of great drink options. I can’t wait to go back!
Love the food and gelato here. Our reservation time was 1:00p and not that crowded. We sat near the window and it was freezing but the food was amazing! We will definitely be coming back here!
They need to loose the outdoor patio space in the winter, drafty and cold. That said the service was good and food exception. Had truffle pasta in light crepe, wonderful, also lobster Diablo great. Got assistance with wonderful bottle of wine. Will try again to see if better.
We were completely rushed out of the restaurant Even though we had hardly been there. Dessert came with the check which was shocking given that we were there to celebrate a birthday and the dessert was a big part of it. They serve me a bad glass of wine and admitted it was bad apologized profusely but didn’t try to make it up in anyway. Waiter was great and food was very fresh but Probably wouldn’t go back because I felt really undervalued
Food was great, and service was efficient.
However, despite having reservations a month in advance, we were seated at a table in the drafty covered patio on a windy December day. The couple at the next table actually moved as the drafts hit them even worse! I ended up finishing my meal wearing my coat.
The outdoor seating was a little chilly by the door, but warmed up when we moved. Food was delicious and probably one of the best Spaghetti Carbonara I've tasted!
Very average and definitely nothing special. Certainly not a gourmet dining experience. Food had very little flavor and disappointing.
Service was ok but waiters are in jeans; so, the atmosphere is anything goes. The food appeared somewhat standardized without any effort to create great flavor.
Wow. The food was amazing & the service outstanding. I felt like we were regulars and not first time guests. Natalya, our server, was a joy. In fact, I plan to visit again when I return to Chicago in March & will definitely ask to be sat at one of her tables. There are lots of eating choices in Chicago—put this at the top of your list. (the tiramisu is fantastic!)
Everything about Nonnina was terrific. From the pre dinner cocktails, the service, dinner, after dinner drinks and our return after the play for dessert & a nightcap all were 5 stars. A special shout out to the wine list with some nice by the glass selections. I have been here before and will most certainly go again.
I love this restaurant. I enjoy it very much every time I go.
Holiday linch. Service was great. Everyone enjoyed their food. Would definitely go back
Our party of 10 had a standout meal at Nonnina on Sunday night. The Branzino was so fresh and perfectly prepared, the pastas were just right, and two friends who had the salmon raved about their dishes. Also the crafted cocktails were spot on. Nonnina gets overlooked as not located in the ‘Triangle’ but is walkable from all over MagMile district. The service was impeccable. We love Nonnina.
Nonnina's is one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago! Insalate Mista (new on the menu), Gnocchi, and Bucatini All’Amatriciana were all excellent! We always enjoy Nonnina's bread. No room for dessert this time. Service was excellent. We each had a glass of their Sin Zin - excellent zinfandel for $10.
