As this was a restaurant I discovered while visiting Chicago, I had no idea what to expect. The menu looked interesting and my husband and I decided to dine at Nonnina.This was a perfect choice. Our dinner was just wonderful. From the first “welcome” to the last “thank you” the experience was excellent. The service was perfect, the food exceptional and the cocktails creative. The employees must enjoy working at Nonnina since smiles came easily and they were very professional.

Food could be better. Pasta lacked salt. And the complimentary bread was not warm or hot and lacked flavor and was dry. The details really matter. I think local spots like Ciccio Mio are much better to spend that kind of money on Italian.

The worst dining experience I have had in a long time. Service was horrible and one of the dishes had to be sent back. I was dining with a client and will be apologizing for the experience every time I see him.

Wonderful food and great service. We sat in the covered terrace area which was very nice. Quiet enough to hear our conversation and had a wonderful time. Would definitely dine here again.

Everything about our experience was wonderful until our server told one of us that the complementary bread was not made with eggs when it definitely was due to our friend’s allergic reaction. If you aren’t sure then check, don’t mess around with an allergy, not cool!

I never write reviews, but this place deserves to be highlighted! Amazing food, drinks and service. Atmosphere is cool with a great mix of people. Definitely don’t pass on this place and scoop a reservation while you can! Food is always consistent. The service was terrible. We waited 10 mins to have a server ask for our drink order and then we got our appetizers and still no drinks. I had to flag down a runner. I had to flag down someone at least three times and then the wait staff wants 20% tip???????? Tip should be based on service not an expectation

I arrive about a half hour earlier than my reservation, but they were able to accommodate me, and I got outdoor seating on a perfect Chicago night. The wait staff was attentive (something that doesn't always happen when you choose to sit outside at a restaurant). The Caesar salad was a beautiful express of this old stand-by using whole romaine leaves from the inside of the lettuce head (about 7 to 8 inches long) with a light Caesar dressing accented by bacon bits and shaved Romano. The star of the meal was the crab and shrimp risotto with some shredded zucchini and peas. It was absolutely perfect--done just right and with an ample amount of crab and shrimp. Truly a delightful meal!

We had a delightful dinner at Nonnina! The service & wine list were excellent as was the enticing menu. We enjoyed the eggplant meets caprese-style appetizer and enjoyed the fresh homemade truffle pasta and halibut special-WOW! This place is a true gem!

The host was absolutely so sweet! He greeted us with the biggest smile on his face and seated us at our booth. And when we were waiting outside for our Uber, he offered us to sit on the outdoor seating tables while we wait for our ride! Great service from the host and waiter Food was delicious. I got the squid ink pasta and chicken pizza and both were so good! I was able to talk with my friend across the booth without any loud noise disturbing us. Great place overall!

This is a wonderful Italian restaurant in the River North area of Chicago. The food we had from the crispy calamari appetizer to the smoked gnocchi with wild boar ragu was increasingly tasty. And the Nutella panna cotta was heavenly for dessert.
