Tasty food and attentive service. Patio was available and the server got the heater going, so it was very comfortable. Great spot.

Food was delicious. We had the bolognese and the pasta del mer. Also enjoyed the sausage and pepper appetizer and the burrata and peach salad. Sat outside on a beautiful early Sept evening and the service was excellent.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! We came here at the recommendation of a friend and it lived up to the hype. Amazing food, so fresh! Plus excellent wines and cocktails. The gelato was especially delicious! Service was great. We will definitely be back!

Great outdoor patio.
It was a rainy evening, but not an issue with the canopy.

I learned of this restaurant from an e-mail and the pictures of the restaurant and the food as well as the menu made this a must-try for me. My expectations were even surpassed. The patio is so charming, like a small European cafe; and Ramon, our waiter, was so knowledgeable and helpful. The pasta - I had rigatoni and my friend had the carbonara - was definitely housemade, so tender and flavorful. We will definitely return and bring friends.

Great experience, 10/10!! The meatballs and calamari appetizers were delicious and huge portion sizes. The steak and squid ink pasta was amazing and so large for the price. The staff was funny, helpful, and prompt with service. We will definitely be returning!

We are so happy we came here. The food was absolutely outstanding. Our server, Ramon, could not have been more gracious, attentive, but not obtrusive. This is a real find in River North and an excellent choice from casual to formal nights out. We will be back again and again.

The waiter was so awesome and knowledgeable, and remembered I had mentioned a gluten allergy when I ordered and made sure it was correct. He split our checks with no issue and was very prompt/available when we needed him. The food was amazing!

Long story short we had a horrible experience and were treated very rudely by the manager. The service is just absolutely awful. Didn’t even end up eating here, went to Formentos in the loop instead which is AMAZING. I’d recomend Ciccio Mio 10000x over nonnina and they are within walking distance. Never dining here again.

Patio was lovely and social distancing and CoVid protocols followed. Felt comfortable and safe. Server was Hiba was lovely and excellent. Food was mediocre. My fresh cod was very salty (and I like salty food), my husband’s pasta was dry as well as our friend’s veal dish. Overall, disappointing.

Great meal at Nonnina! Food was excellent and servers were all very friendly. We sat out on the patio. Only recommendation would be to have music playing throughout the restaurant and patio. Hope to come back again soon!

Service was amazing, EVERYONE from hostess to waitress to busser were incredibly attentive and helpful. Fish was cooked perfectly, so Chef does a great job too. Bartender made great (and strong) whiskey cocktails (that cherry was divine).

Bread was not interesting. Staff brought salt, pepper, Parmesan, and garlic so I could mix it with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Tortellini was great and Sea Bass was perfectly cooked - especially those peppers!

Sat on the side patio, which was more private and felt more spacious than the street side.

Overall happy. Bummed the table had fake basil on display, would have been nice to enjoy the scent of real basil.

We went for an anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. The meatball appetizer came a little to quickly since I prefer to finish my cocktail before eating my appetizer. That said, it was delicious as was our main course and desert! We will return.

I made reservations for the patio for three people and upon arrival the host brushed me off and said the patio was full and that I needed a reservation. He said we can sit outside on the street side. Not wanting to wait, my party and I sat at the sidewalk. The server was great but it wasn't the patio I had reserved. I booked this restaurant because it is a 'sister' restaurant o Piccolo Sogno and expected the food to be as good. It was not. I ordered the chicken vesuvio and it was full of grease. My friend ordered a special gnocci filled with spinach because she saw someone in the bar eating it and was told it was a special chef's dish. It was like a mouthful of dough. My husband's veal piccata was just okay. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience and the food was not worth the cost. There are many other italian restaurants to choose from so I will not be returning.

Food was amazing - we ordered the pizza, that had a thin crispy crust. It was delicious. Then we had bolognese rigatoni - outstanding homemade pasta, with two side veggies. And then we had cannoli and tiramisu, both tasty and light.
On the other end, service was poor. The whole dinner experience took 3 hours. We waited 30min to order food - then food came at a very slow pace - then we waited 30min to ask for the check, which took 20min to arrive.
It is hard to recommend this place because although food is good - it takes forever to get the attention of the waiters and the place is not even operating on full capacity at the moment due to Covid... Also, the toilets were broken so we had to walk out of the restaurant in the attached building and and line up to a single bathroom - which also takes forever....

The management team and staff should get a big round of applause. During these crazy COVID times, they did everything right! Each guest was given a mask bag to keep your mask safe while dining. Service is always great hear, the menu has a great selection and is priced right. If anyone wants to “feel at home” with the great dishes, this is the place. Thanks again for taking COVID serious, we all need to get back to where we once were.

Clap clap clap.

Surprised at the lack of cream based options, no white wine sauce or Alfredo or Parmesan based sauce for the lose allergic to tomato and don’t like pesto. When asked to make the attempt was a hard fail. How hard is it to make heavy whipping cream. Salt, black pepper and Parmesan for a sauce base? Well they brought out heated heavy whipping cream lacking the remaining ingredients. How are there chefs that lack making the simplest sauce? The calamari was over chewy, tasted boiled tough and then deep fried. But the ambiance was nice, and if your a red sauce eater then this is the place. Also many of the pictured dish items on the menu under OpenTable they don’t make and/or have never made. When I showed the server the non-tomato based items of pictures under the menu section of OpenTable I was told it wasn’t their food. Those pictures guided my decision on visiting the restaurant so I found that to be troubling.

Our neighborhood go-to for excellent food, great bartender, friendly staff who greet you as family...best patio/sidewalk atmosphere. Cozy all year long. Glad they're going strong during partial covid shutdown.
