This was our first visit to NONNA. We made a reservation. My husband is a 6”5 large man…we were brought to the back of the bar area that was a tiny high top with stools…the most ridiculous table in a restaurant I have ever seen. We kindly asked for something different and told them we were happy to wait when they rudely told us that is where we had to sit. This was also the only table for food in the bar. I cannot express how rude they were…I actually told them I understood they were busy and we would visit another time and they rudely tried to get us to stay at the table. Obviously….we left never to return.

I tried the Lentil soup. I have to say no one makes Lentil soup like my Mom. Hers is the best ever. Nothing I have tried ever comes close, not even my own. Nonna's came very very close. All I did was add red pepper flakes and it was just like my Mom's. I should have have gotten some to go, it was that good! My Vongole was perfect as always. The service great.

Nice atmosphere but portions are small for the price. Thank God for good bread. For example, don’t order lasagna, you will get a small no pasta portion. This is not you classic lasagna than anyone would expect. Would go back and try something else on the menu.

Overall—Amazing! From the warm welcome by the hostess and manager upon arrival to the anniversary dessert at the end, our dinner was truly one of the best. Brendon, our server, was OUTSTANDING! Professional, cordial, informative and just truly seemed to show genuine care that we were dining there. It wasn’t just another evening at work for him. The manager, also very friendly, professional, warm and welcoming, stopped by during our dinner to ensure all was ok. It was a Friday night and the restaurant was extremely busy. Ambiance was very energetic and lively, yet quiet enough to have a conversation. The food—simply delicious. Nonna’s Panzanella was fresh and super tasty; Strozzapreti was awesome and parpadelle with chicken ragu special was one of the best I’ve ever had. Kudos to Nonna’s for such a memorable Cinco de Mayo!

The food was ok, some came not as described (husband's gnocchi was supposed to be crisp, but arrived like regular gnocchi). The restaurant is SO LOUD I could barely hear my self think. The service was the best part of the evening. Very attentive and accommodating , especially when we asked to be moved from the blinding light the table we were sitting at to the less loud patio. I would not describe the noise level as "energetic" It was just loud.

Super busy. Sat us next to gathering point of staff. Was not an ideal setting. Long wait to get wine. We no sooner got our wine and the food came.. our waitress was super nice, but I think they may have been shorthanded. Food was very good !

Food was very good. One person didn’t love their dinner cuz it had a pungent cheese that she didn’t like. But overall it was very good. I would definitely go back and recommend. Inside it was quite loud but outside was not. Very much liked the ambiance.

I love this place. SoCal is not known for its authentic Italian food or restaurants and Nonna's delivers. It is lively and fun (we went on a night with live music). It's wonderful but may not be a great first date kind of place unless you sit out on the patio. Love that this is in my neighborhood. A fave.
