I’ve already recommended Nonna Osteria for multiple people. We had an amazing dinner there that was perfect for great conversation! Every single piece of food was delicious.
It was quite noisy due to table of very noisy people, and acoustics were bad. Food very good, service good, we were late as it was difficult to find using GPS, and they were understanding,
The food was outstanding. I'm a foodie and very picky. I love to cook and eat. The fish I had was cooked to perfection. I loved the cauliflower. The grapefruit sauce was excellent. Our olive oil cake for dessert was amazing!!!! It is pricey but you do get the quality and experience in cooking that shows. If I had to critic anything it would be the bread in the beginning. I would have just like a nice crusty loaf or a wonderful soft buttery roll.
Just delicious. The pasta cinghale is absolutely delicious as was the eggplant parm appetizer (not like any I’ve ever had) and the potato and octopus. And the bread with that tapenade. Delicious.
excellent food and flavor, may be the best italian food I have had outside of Italy, quality northern italian food is hard to find in US. Only issue was the noise level, which took away from the feel of being in an elegant restaurant.
Great food, great ambiance, great wine but the service was absolutely awful. The server was clearly too busy counting her tips with another larger table and completely forgot about us several times.
Lovely staff. Delicious food. Will visit again.
My colleagues and I where in San Antonio for a conference and I saw on Yelp Nonna was near by and received good reviews. Nonna did not disappoint as the food was excellent and Faith, our server was outstanding! We were so impressed that we wound up going back the following night! Further, we were lucky enough to have Faith as our server again, which she promptly recognized us upon arrival and we were treated once again with amazing service.
This is a must stop for anyone visiting San Antonio!
Service was exceptional, and the food was delicious.
Muy buena relación calidad precio
The food was absolutely amazing!! The Granchio & Tartufo is a MUST!!!
This is our second time dining here and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The ambiance of the restaurant was casual and comfortable, and our service was good. We started our meal with the caprese salad and arincini for appetizers and they were delicious. Our main entries were pasta bolognese and shell pasta with king crab meat with grilled artichoke hearts and jalapeños in a pepperanato sauce. I would definitely recommend either entree. To finish our meal, we shared a delicious tiramasu dessert.
Exquisite service, delicious food, this is going to be our go to Italian restaurant in San Antonio
Better than average Italian fare at reasonable prices with a great atmosphere.
Went twice during a 1 week stay in San Antonio. First trip was spur of the moment dining. Excellent food quality on both occasions. Cocktails were just ok both times. Service was acceptable for the establishment but could have been friendlier and genuinely more attentive both times. Budino dessert and coffee were excellent. Food quality alone is sufficient for me to return despite my slight grievances on quality of service, cocktails, and slightly too noisy characteristics.
We celebrated my daughter’s graduation from BMT! We are foodies and were not disappointed. The food was amazing! The linguini with truffle and crab was to die! Worth every penny! Great wine! Great waiter! Ooh Rah Marine! Thank you for everything! I highly recommend this small intimate venue.
The food, service, ambiance were all great! Best Italian restaurant I’ve eaten at in a very long time. Would go back every week if I lived in the area!
The building itself is nice. Good vine selection. Staff was very friendly.
The menu looks good, but unfortunately, nothing we ordered really had much flavor - very bland.
This is interesting as you look at the ingredient list and wonder how that is possible.
Very pricey for what is it. Many, many better places. Many, many, many places are better for the dollar.
Fino, diferente al tradicional restaurante americano de comida italiana.
Authentic fare, prepared with great attention to detail. Went back 3 times for lunch and dinner during my brief stay and hosted a company dinner as well. Great attention to detail from wait staff. Dont miss the roof top bar for after dinner drinks.
Brad our server was fantastic. The portions are small for the price. The bartender (I don’t know her name because she never spoke to us) with pig tails was really rude. Lied about whether they offered wine by the glass. She said, “we only offer bottles” Then we asked for a drink menu and it had many by-the-glass options. We always get wine by the glass because my wife likes white, and I like red.
Stay away from the bar, ask for Brad.
Great food but if you are trying to visit and have conversation the restaurant is very loud.
Staff is friendly and helpful in explaining food items.
Northern Italian is a great addition to San Antonio.
Great food, great ambiance, great service. Highly recommend!
Every bite we had was delicious! We had the risotto and the sea bass; both were amazing!
It was truly remarkable. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had the sea bass and it was perfect. We also had the olive oil and blueberry cake-wonderful.
Perfect birthday celebration! Just lovely.
The location is excellent, sufficiently off the main Riverwalk area. The food is excellent in it's preparation, quality and presentation. And, the service is excellent in their professionalism, poise, descriptions and ability to accommodate some food allergies.
I'm from San Francisco, a foodie heaven. I feel Nonna can stand up against some pretty heavy-hitters in S.F. and would do quite well.
The menu is nicely varied. The quality of the ingredients is first-rate, painstakingly prepared, and artfully served.
We had the cured meats for an appetizer and it came with very lightly friend pizza dough. It was delicious.
For entrees we had, lobster ravioli, pasta with wild boar, and branzino. All of them well exceeded our expectations. The ravioli was flavorful. The wild boar had excellent pasta and a great ratio of pasta to wild boar. I was afraid they might skimp on the boar, but the portion was perfect. The branzino was amazing in that it was perfectly crispy on the outside but very moist on the inside. I want to know how they did it!
Our waitperson, Faith, was amazing. It turns out her dad is a sous-chef at a sister restaurant, and she clearly grew up in the kitchen. She's young, probably in her early 20's, and was poised, knowledgable, well-versed in the menu and had a wonderful personality. I can see her managing the restaurant or owning her own someday!
The desserts were excellent too. I had a chocolate budino and my friends shared a delightful lemon sorbet. The budino was first-rate. The sorbet was not a typical icy version but creamier, nearly like ice cream but it was definitely non-dairy. It was delicious.
All in all the quality and value of this meal was outstanding for all the reasons I've mentioned. I look forward to visiting San Antonio again, and when I do, eating at Nonna Osteria.
I highly recommend it.
Food was excellent!
The food was incredible! We had a bottle of Montelpuciano Abruzzi, very smooth. The limoncello had a hint of lavender. We had salads and risotto! Great, great place!
Always good. Young child screaming most of evening didn’t help but food awesome as usual.
Outstanding experience. Every dish was perfection. A few pleasant surprises for our anniversary celebration. Our table of four couldn’t stop talking about the experience... and we are foodies from New Orleans. Book, eat, enjoy!
We loved everything about our night! The views from the rooftop bar were amazing. The service and food was impeccable!! Looking forward to coming back.
Everything was very well done!
Always great! Hard to find a good combination of food, wine and service in San Antonio, but Nonna delivers on all three.
Jose was amazing, the food, out of this world, recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Food was outstanding. Wait staff awesome!!
I am a local foodie and this restaurant never disappoints me. The Chef keeps the menu interesting and varied, the staff are attentive and food service is prompt. They just added a roof top bar that is amazing. The food is some of the best in San Antonio hands down. My favorite dish currently is the Burrata with grilled vegetable, it is a appetizer but it is so good I sometime order it as my dinner.
My guests were blown away by the food. They liked the ambiance. Both of them said they would return to Nonna!
My husband and I were looking forward to a great Anniversary dinner. The wine was good, the eggplant appetizer was ok, the pasta with wild boar was good, but the risotto with shrimp and asparagus was awful. For dessert the olive cake was decent, but the tiramisu was on the thick and dry side. Our server completely forgot it was our Anniversary- no writing on our dessert plates and no free bubbly as was mentioned at the start. The best part of that dinner was the free focaccia with olive tapenade.
