Amazing experience. Great food and service. Smaller restaurant with wonderful ambiance.
Always a great time. Love the shrimp risotto and lobster ravioli.
Excellent as always! Noise level high but bring in a booth always helps. Wine list is superb and wait staff was excellent
New favorite restaurant in San Antonio. Well managed and great setting
This was our 20th anniversary. I am so glad we have picked this restaurant to have dinner in. The food was delicious. From the egg plant Parmesan appetizer to my Pappardelle pasta over wild boar. The wine list is also very accommodating. I'd return here without question.
One of my favorite places. Food is so fresh and delicious. Great service! After dinner go up to the rooftop bar for drinks and great views.
Great menu and atmosphere. Loved the decor, service was great. Thank you for an enjoyable evening!
Went there with a last minute reservation. Device was great and good was great. This was a nice find in a great location. Fills up fast so reserve!
My friend is retiring
Nice surprise! Like the curtain idea but would be nice to be able to look outside when sitting in the inner part of the dining room. Also, when we drove up to the restaurant we thought it was closed because curtain were drawn. Portions are small but tasty.
Overall the food was good; however, excessive oil was used which detracted from an otherwise nice experience.
Andrea was an incredible server; so hospitable and accommodating! She made our simple lunch meeting one to remember! And the food was absolutely delicious!!!
Nice little spot for a low key date night.
We’ve eaten at Nonna multiple times, so we know what to expect. The food and service are great. This visit was no different. The only downside is if the restaurant is full, it is very loud.
Another positive in this visit, they have opened a roof top bar. The view is great, especially in the warmer evenings. The service was ok as the two male bartenders tended to not shown an appropriate level of professionalism to match the expectations of Nonna and/or Silo.
Roof top bar was way worth the price for dinner. A must see.
Good food, friendly staff, nice location.
Extraordinary food, fabulous service, delightful wine choices! Absolutely recommended for any occasion.
Had a lovely lunch. Loved the citrus plate that was offered for our water - everyone should do that! The appetizers and mains were all fantastic. Do not miss out!
We had an excellent dining experience at Nonna. The food was excellent, the services was outstanding and the drinks were great! Thank you for helping make our anniversary dinner a great experience.
Lovely restaurant and now my favorite Italian place in San Antonio
Fantastic service and delicious pasta. The complimentary warm focaccia bread with olive tapenade was the best! I loved the flavor of the butternut squash ravioli and the wild boar pasta but did think the pasta was overcooked, neither dish was al dente. Overall, would return again!
Superb! Exquisite food thoughtfully served with great attention to detail!
We've had 2 great meals here ! We will definitely return next time we are in town.
Awesome! Jason, our waiter was fantastic. He helped us with selections throughout the evening - and everything from drinks, to appetizers to entrees were excellent. Due to our celebrating a birthday that evening- Jason coordinated for us to see their new roof top bar area, which had already closed, but provided us a beautiful view of the city. Thanks to all - we will definitely return!!!
Nonna was authentic, vibrant and lively. Service was efficient and very friendly. Great experience!
Very attentive servrers. The food and presentation was excellent. We really enjoyed the polipo e patate and the mellanzane alla parmigiana. These were appetizers and with a salad, they make a great meal.
We had a very pleasant experience at Nonna this past weekend for my wife's birthday. Dinner and service were fantastic and we enjoyed drinks on the rooftop of the Fairmount before dinner.
Today was our first visit to Nonna Osteria, and we were blown away. The dining room is simple, elegant & beautiful, the service was impeccable and the food was outstanding.
We started with the Arancini which are risotto balls filled with melted leeks. These are little fried nuggets of heaven. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy gooey goodness on the inside. There is no "fried food" taste - just pops of flavor which are enhanced by the rich sauce they are served on.
My wife had the Risotto Ai Gamberetti, a shrimp and scallop risotto with butternut squash and a balsamic reduction. This was the best risotto I've had anywhere, ever. Seriously. Better than anything we've had even when touring Italy. It's that good. Perhaps the perfect risotto dish. I truly hope this stays on the menu because we will absolutely have this on a regular basis. Just. Wow!
I had the Cinghiale, a dish of pappardelle pasta in a rich, creamy sauce with just the perfect amount of cheese to hold it together. The pasta is served on a bed of shredded wild boar. The boar was perfectly seasoned, not at all greasy and had been cooked to tender perfection. The portion was ample as well - I ended up running out of pasta before I ran out of meat.
I'd love to report on the deserts, but quite frankly the two dishes were large enough that when combined with the risotto ball appetizer, we were stuffed. This was a fantastic meal, and we will be back often.
Somewhat disappointing time going this go round as opposed to others. Service was extremely off; had to reiterate multiple times my wife's allergies to ensure the items provided didn't cause a reaction. Lamb Shank wasn't as tender as could be; just there. Overall disappointing and hoping it was an off-night thing as it's been phenomenal on all other occasions we've been.
This restaurant is a ral gem and so above the run of the mill steakhouses and other restaurants associated with the River Walk. The homemade pasta was excellent and the service was superior.
Authentic Italian food in a lovely atmosphere. Excellent appetizers, pastas and risotto.
Very good service just a very loud place
I highly recommend Nonna Osteria for an outstanding dining experience. We were very fortunate to be seated in a booth , because at times, there is a lot of ambient noise. The food and service were excellent. I recommend a bottle of Lambrusco, it will go with almost any Italian food. I strongly recommend making reservations for evening dining. My wife and I both really enjoyed our dining experience. One suggestion would be to lower the height of wall between the kitchen and prep area and diners. So that diners could be more immersed in the experience. But to sum it up in one statement. It was very close to the best Italian dining we have ever experienced.
The burrata appetizer was delicious and all the pastas my group ordered was tasty.
Only downside was my group was asked if we could wrap it up by 7:00 pm bc the table was reserved for another group.
It’s our second time at Nonna! We came back because we loved it. We loved it! Everything about it!
It’s a bit pricey for what you get, but the food is very good and the ambiance is awesome! Overall experience is a 10.
Not disappointed. The courses came to us in a reasonable time. One entree far exceeded the other but the weaker dish was still excellent. The only note that could have made this experience better is finding it sooner.
Our first meal was a prix fixe Valentines Dinner. We were so pleased with the experience that we made reservations for the following evening - even though it was for a late time.
Special mention goes to the Arancini, Burrata, Branzino and the Tiramisu. We also loved the Sea Bass on the Valentines Menu. Most at our table also enjoyed the Granchio E Tartufo - tagliatelle with truffles and crab meat, prepared table side in a wheel of parmesan.
Don't forget to arrive early to enjoy the beautiful views from the rooftop bar.
Not what I thought it would be. Food adequate. Felt rushed by the wait staff to finish dinner.
